Located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula smack dab in the middle of the Hood Canal in the Olympic National Forest. Our modest but conveniently located property is perfect for exploration along this beautiful stretch of highway 101. Whether you enjoy clamming and oyster picking on nearby beaches, taking a picnic to the river, hiking on the countless nearby trails, or taking a day to explore nearby local farms for all of your fresh produce needs, breweries, cideries, and countless eateries this is the spot for you.This quaint camp spot is perfect for dry camping in your RV or primitive tent camping. Tucked in the trees this semi private spot is an excellent getaway just far enough out of town to make you forget the hustle and bustle of city life, but also close enough to enjoy all of the beauty and activities the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. Smack dab on the middle of the Hood Canal (FYI which is actually a Fjord) we are within the perfect range of a day trip to Forks to visit the Hoh rainforest, or continue to catch the stunning beaches at La Push. Don't forget to grab your shellfish license and head to a local public beach for your clam digging and oyster picking needs. Or head down the road to Hama Hama Oyster Bar and Saloon and let the nice folks there do all the work for you while you sip on local beverages enjoying the view. This gem of a spot is open all year round. In under an hour you can make the drive North to historic Port Townsend and soak up the history of this beautiful town known for its eclectic art, music, and residents. So many delicious options for food and beverages, not to mention the stellar views of the water and the amazing historic homes in the Uptown area. Don't forget to stop in Chimicum along the way, the farmstand has an amazing array of fresh local produce, baked goods etc. Conveniently located right across the street from the amazing Finn River Cidery. Finn River boasts some of the best ciders and snacks in the PNW. Look them up for events and music. As an all ages venue this is a favorite for one and all. Just about an hours drive to Kingston, or Bainbridge and you can catch the ferry across the Sound and spend the day exploring Seattle and the surrounding areas. Are you a shrimper or fisher and don't feel like driving home after a chilly day on the water? We have room for you, your camper and your boat. Perfect for year round for hikers, shrimpers, hunters, and relaxers. There is wood available for for the non burn ban times, please do not forage or gather wood/kindling from the properties. Hosts live nearby to help with any issues, but guests will be granted total privacy. Though this 'neighborhood,' is mostly vacation properties, there are year round residents so we ask that there is a quieter time from 10pm until 7am. Pets are allowed be aware there is always the chance of predators in this area, so we ask that dogs are leashed and supervised at all times.

Great, cost effective site!

Loved our stay here! The site is actually multi-level, which was difficult to see in the photos. The bottom street level pad had a picnic table and propane grill. My "overland" trailer is fairly self contained, so we didn't use them, but the grill was clean and had necessary grilling utensils inside. The lower level also has a very well maintained porta potty that even has a motion sensor LED light inside. A short set of stairs built into the hillside leads to the upper level, where a fire pit and sheltered split wood supply awaits. There was also two hammocks set up in the corner, but a rain storm that passed through before our arrival unfortunately soaked them. The site is situated in a fairly quiet neighborhood and feels fairly private (much more private than most campgrounds). The neighbors have chickens, so they occasionally get noisy while being fed, but were quiet the majority of the time; Especially after dark. You definitely can't beat this site for the price and it's a great hub to get outdoors and enjoy nature. Would definitely recommend the site! Thank you to the host for a pleasurable trip!

We loved camping in our little trailer at Karla’s camping spot. It was easy to find, close to the main road, but quiet. The setup was nice and porta potty was very clean. Would camp there again.

First Hipcamp disappointment

Hood Canal Rustic RV/Tent Campsite
We have a 30 foot trailer with two slides on the driver side (I had reached out to the host to confirm we would fit prior to booking). When we arrived we realized we would not fit in the space The host’s neighbor assisted us and moved an existing parked trailer on the other camping space. We were able to squeeze in that area for the night but we were right by the road. Once we got settled, a group of dirt bikes & atv’s started doing loops on the neighborhood and going by our camp every 1/2 hour or so. The next morning someone started working with a chainsaw. We packed up and left - we drove over 16 hours and thought we booked a peaceful place in the trees. When we arrived we had responsive contact with the host. I contacted her to say we wouldn’t be staying and I never received a response.

The site was a great home base for kayaking in the area. Great communication with the host. Provided use of a grill with utensils & a cornhole board set. Port o John was super clean!

Perfect spot along Hood Canal. The spot was on a very quiet street. Ample room for our class B camper with a lovely spot for our table and chairs. Couple of tiki torches were nice for ambiance. Cleanest outhouse ever!! Walk or drive a couple miles to the end of Mountain Trail Rd to a secluded ‘park’ on the river.

We really enjoyed this private and semi-primitive camp spot that Karla has set up. It was extremely nice to have a very clean port a potty to use. We also really appreciated all the free firewood Karla provided. Neighborhood was very mixed use with permanent homes scattered amongst other camping sites. There was some noise during the day- chickens, dogs barking, chainsaws and the like- however the spacing of the lots and the topography really help to lessen the sound as it travels and it was not a bother to us at all. Evenings, nights and early mornings were SUPER quiet! We also had the joy of being here during Shrimpfest, which was an adorable local festival in Brinnon. There are many beautiful beaches and mountain trails to explore and don't forget to check out Rocky Brook Falls- an absolute gem. We would love to return to this wonderful spot in the future!

I loved camping here. The space was private and ready for guests. The hosts go the extra mile and offer fire wood, tiki torches, and nice touches like automatic lights in the port-a-potty. I will absolutely be back!

This quiet little campsite was perfect for our weekend getaway. The neighborhood was friendly and a great spot for us to walk. Karla did a great job with directions and responded right away with any questions we had. I’d definitely recommend booking this campsite!

We all had a great time here! Communication with the host was very helpful. The campsite was in a nice safe neighborhood. It was quiet and relaxing and was even for parking our truck and camper. Great location and nice to not be in a busy campground. Thank you!

We loved camping on Karla’s land! It was private, the single bathroom was clean, and we had a good amount of land to explore. Karla was super nice and accommodating to us as well. There were hammocks, a propane grill, a picnic table, and a propane fire pit. Not too many bugs either!

I loved tent camping on Sarah’s land! The site was quiet and its towering trees made it feel secluded despite being in a neighborhood of sorts, which made me feel safe. Loved that we were the only site on her land so had the whole place to ourselves! The hammocks were super comfy and the port o potty was super clean.

We LOVED our quiet space to relax and rejuvenate and the host was the absolute best in making sure our stay was comfortable and cozy! We enjoyed visiting places nearby like the Fjord Oyster Bank, Duckabush and Triton Cove State parks and visiting the trails along Hood Canal. This trip was unforgettable and something we’ll definitely come back to enjoy again and again.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hood Canal Rustic RV/Tent Campsite
This campsite was peaceful, and a convenient place to stop on the way to exploring the Olympic Peninsula. It's located in a residential neighborhood, so there is some noise during the day - but it quieted down a lot in the evening, and felt very serene. From the driveway, there's a path up to the tent area, which is surrounded by trees - making it feel like you're a lot further away from it all!
