Also feel free to enjoy the covered seating area alongside the west side of the barn, overlooking the animals, gardens and expansive valley view! We are also situated less than a 10-minute drive away from an easily accessible dump station in Port Ludlow, on the way to the Hood Canal Bridge. Please understand that we are a working farm that hosts businesses and other visitors. You will most likely see us and perhaps other guests during your stay! Our home is further down the driveway (to the south of the barn) and we have land mates and an Airbnb unit attached to our house. At 180 acres Glendale Farm in Chimacum, in operation since 1857, is one of the largest single agricultural properties remaining in Jefferson County. The farm includes prime agricultural soils, over half a mile of East Chimacum Creek, and forested areas. The easement protects a buffer zone for salmon and wildlife habitat along the east fork of Chimacum Creek and protects the agricultural and forestry values of the property forever. Jefferson Land Trust and collaborative partners purchased the easement to Insure Glendale farm maintains agricultural practices and wildlife habitat forever! Please be aware this is a working farm with poultry, livestock, and the use of farm equipment providing a great experience for farm life. Glendale Farm experienced a devastating loss in 2022 when the primary residence burned down. Since then, we have been engaged in a long-term restoration effort, including extensive cleanup from an extreme hoarding situation. Please wear sturdy shoes at all times, as we are still carefully removing glass and other sharp debris from parts of the property. You may encounter old farm equipment, a few derelict RVs, and other remnants of the site's history as we continue this work. Cardinal's Camp is an ideal spot for small RV's and campers to come and relax in a country setting. We have a gorgeous covered area and deck with propane mini BBQ and bench seating, full water and 30 amp power hook-ups, and beautiful views of the surrounding farm fields and a one hundred year old barn (PLEASE don't access the barn area or fields, it's not ours but the views are great!) Lots to do around the area, including Finnriver Cidery, hiking in the Olympic Mountains and the Victorian town of Port Townsend. We now have decent wifi you can use, so option to come and work remotely! (Unfortunately we don't have tons of space for kids or dogs to run around, but definitely plenty of nice grassy area to set up tents, yard games and a campfire). Our site includes wifi, picnic table, and potable water. Campfires (outside of a burn ban) and pets permitted! However we do have free-roaming chickens (ask us about fresh eggs!) so leashed up or chicken-friendly dogs please. Guests love staying here: "Gorgeous spot to sit, relax and take in the sunset across the farm fields before tucking in. We visited for one night with a 10.5’ tall camper van rented from Cabana, which fit easily under the shelter with plenty of clearance. The shelter itself is a great spot to get outside and eat a meal, and the rocking chairs in the yard were chill too! An occasional loud truck will go by on the nearby road, but not bad. We slept fine. Walk to Finnriver Cidery for dinner (yum)"

We are a 20 acre tree farm in the making on beautiful Whidbey Island. The property is rough graded with lots of areas to explore. Close to town for supplies but quiet, and crazy stars at night. We have cleared two of the cedar groves on the south side, and they are perfect campsites. The sites are 75'-100' apart, more private than a state park, but close enough that a bigger group would feel close. Portable Toilet is on site 100' from the Big Cedar site. May through October Cedar Hallow- Our original campsite, sports a hammock, a picnic table, a fire pit, a good area for 2 tents, probably 6 people. The site has huge cedar trees all around so it's filtered sunlight most of the day, & warm in the summer! Big Cedar- Our bigger site. Equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, hammock, and space for 3-4 tents, probably 12 people comfortably. There is a dirt road that circles the property, it's great for walks and animal viewing but can get muddy in the rain so be prepared. Parking is a gravel lot directly across the little dirt road from the sites. Unload at the site then move to parking as to not block the road. Trucks with campers can pull tight to a site but don't pull into a site please, obey standard fallen tree limb boundaries. I keep a large water tote on-site with hose water for washing dishes or boiling.

I stayed at Moss Haven with my three kids and we made so many good memories! We watched the bats come out at dusk and the kids practiced archery endlessly. I loved how much natural light was in the cabin and the kids want lofted beds at home now. With Joe's kitchen set-up, I was able to make our fanciest camp food yet. The cabin includes everything you could need and a lot of thoughtful touches, like mounted hand sanitizer and the tide chart for our stay written out. We really enjoyed swimming at the beach; the trail is steep and rope assisted - it was fine for my six and seven year old and my four year old needed hand-holding, to give you an idea. We enjoyed paddle boarding on nearby Lake Leland and the Peninsula Food Market was just a short drive away (Mom forgot ketchup). We can't wait to visit again next summer!

Jeff's property was perfect for exploring the north Kitsap peninsula. It has a great water view and the campsite was nicely landscaped and maintained. It's fairly quiet but as mentioned in the description, the road can be noisy. The community beach and boat launch were both a short walk away and quite lovely to visit. We would definitely consider returning to Paradise View.

Really nice, private site with room for kids to run around a little. We decided to stay an extra night than we were planning because it was so nice. This side of Whidbey island is quieter due to jets not taking off as frequently. A highlight was the outhouse, complete with 2 flush toilets, probably the cleanest of any hipcamp we have stayed at. What a lovely place with impeccable vibes. Seth was very smart about how to best space out campers on a busy weekend. Felt private and communal. All great folks. There is a beautiful community kitchen space that was fabulous! Coffee maker, stove, dishes, fridge if needed, sink. Note that there are working livestock guardian dogs on the property. Their job is barking when necessary. They were appropriate barkers and very sweet.

When to go

The best time to visit Shine Tidelands State Park is during the warmer months when the park's full splendor can be enjoyed from 8am to dusk. Winter visits offer a stark, quiet beauty, but be mindful of the burn ban typically in effect from December 19 to January 12.

Know before you go

Day-use only park with no overnight camping available.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Remember to pack out all trash, as trash service is not provided.
Metal detecting is not permitted within the park boundaries.
A Discover Pass is required for entry, with annual passes at $30 and one-day passes at $10.
