*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Just down the road from the historic Oregon Country Fair grounds, there is a moss covered forest with friendly folks welcoming you to stop off and rest. Nights are quiet with faint to no road noise or light pollution. The driveway and grounds are flat with safe gated parking space for cars/vans and small-med sized trailers, tents etc. It is our pleasure to offer you a safe space to camp with your friends and family. Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Guests are welcome to fresh eggs from the chicken coop. We are fully fenced and gated for your family and pets protection. South Santiam River is less than 1 mile for fishing, kayaking, or rafting. Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. We thought it would be great to have family gatherings and get togethers here and think of this as our slice of heaven, and hope others enjoy it as well.

Bring your tent or camper for extra room. Our campsite is nestled among the trees next to the river. There's lots to enjoy. Do you like hiking? Silver Falls State Park is only 36 miles away. Boating? You can put in your kayak/canoe at Gills Landing in Lebanon and float down the river back to the campsite. Fishing? Bring your fishing pole and try catch and release in our pond. Swimming? Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river. This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.

Eugene and the University of Oregon campus (including Hayward Field) are just 30 minutes away. It’s about an hour to the Oregon Coast, 15 minutes to Cottage Grove Lake, and 30 minutes to Dorena Reservoir. Umpqua National Forest is also nearby, with stunning waterfalls such as Spirit, Moon, and Pinard Falls only 45 minutes to an hour away. The Cottage Grove area is known for its covered bridges, mining history, and the scenic Row River Trail bike path. Film buffs may recognize local spots from Buster Keaton’s The General, Stand By Me, and Animal House. You’ll also find nearby farms, breweries, and vineyards offering tours and tastings. Learn more about this land: One mile from I-5, you may pitch your tent or park your van in a meadow near some fir trees bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility.  Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek. There is another hiking trail to another portion of the creek to the right of the road that passes by the barn. A sign on an oak tree indicates the edge of the large mowed meadow that will take you to another sign for the trail to the creek. When entering the property at the county road, you’ll see a big Century Farm sign on the left at the driveway entrance. Continue past a brown machine shed. You will see two apple trees on your left. Just beyond the apple trees is a sign, on a big fir tree. This sign points to the direction of the campsite. Shaped like an arrow it points to the mowed path down to the creek and campsite which you may drive. Uphill from the campsite is a trail going through a small copse of trees that leads up to the red barn. On the left, at the entrance to the barn, is a bathroom complete with sink and shower. Towels are not provided. Beneath the apple trees is a faucet with potable drink safety hose and a bucket for your use.

You will be staying in a 16ft Pacific yurt built on raised deck that has a covered deck for shade and rainy days. There is plenty of space for additional tents and RV campers to join! There is a fire pit, picnic table, full propane grill and composting toilet. There is also a wonderful warm wood stove for staying cozy! You can swim in the creek right next to the site or walk over to the North Fork of the Alsea River where there is 1/2 mile of river access and great winter steelhead fishing too. Close to the farm is world class mountain biking, hiking, fishing, waterfalls, great views, and surfing on the Oregon coast. The camp spot is a very private grassy nook nestled next to Honey Grove Creek. There are nature trails on the property with blackberry bushes. We offer farm fresh eggs, firewood bundles, and as the garden begins to ramp up- we will offer all the veggies to campers including goat cheese! We can do cash or Venmo payments. Such a great spot, when I read the other reviews saying you just need to pack food and clothes they weren’t kidding. Literally everything else is there (bedding, pillows, French press, blackstone, pots and pans, paper towel, dishes, cutting boards, silverware). I brought a jet boil for hot water to make coffee in the morning but otherwise didn’t need anything else I brought. My dogs loved being able to roam free with us, my little dogs are impossible to camp with at regular campgrounds because they bark at everyone. They loved this spot! The water was high and fast in April so I didn’t paddle board but I did put my toes in the water and look for cool rocks. Such an amazing spot.

I had a nice and relaxing time staying here. I really enjoyed being immersed in the forest while still having a lot of amenities available. Having WiFi was a big plus and helped me feel a bit more safe as a solo traveler. My dog and I loved roaming around the property and checking out the trails/future campsites. You can tell a lot of love and hard work has been put into this land. I appreciate the thought put into everything (hygiene supplies in the restroom, leaving out dog treats/a bowl, snacks, the tea/nespresso pods, even creamer and water in the fridge). I am very pleased with my stay and will definitely be back/recommend this site to friends/family. Thank you for everything! 😁

We had a great 4 night stay. Jered and Stefane were very welcoming and had thought of everything. We loved the acreage being on top of a hill and looking down, seeing the wild turkeys in town and deer in the cemetery. The property is immaculately kept, I don’t know how they do it! The fire pit was so nice in the evening and is a must when camping. We had lots to do with going into Eugene, visiting McDowell Creek Falls and just exploring the area. Our one year old German Shepherd loved it too. Our only problem now is getting the time to come back! Thanks for sharing and doing it so well. 10/10 We will check our calendars. Nice secluded spot. When you lay down at night you can hear the peaceful sound of the creek in the distance. The amenities are very nice and convenient. You still get the feel of a primitive campsite by sleeping in a tent, cooking with propane stoves, cleaning dishes in a wash basin, and using an outhouse. But staying with Richard you don’t have to pack, haul, set up, and tear down all that stuff. This allowed me to really enjoy being out in nature and making a fun camp meal without as much headache.

Majestic views. Perfect for wildlife viewing. A distant field of cows and lambs brush the landscape. Occasionally they give a gentle call, letting you know all is well. Lovely property and the directions were excellent and special touches everywhere like towels for the sauna yesss a gorgeous sauna available and connecting outdoor showers, also gorgeous and actually a total spa experience even better as it’s in natures beautiful surroundings. Notes everywhere to acclimate you and coffee & pot in my yurt. Also delicious well water available and cozy warm propane heater as I stayed in March quite chilly yet cozy in the Yurt for me and my 2 dogs, another plus dogs welcome! The Yurt had everything we needed dishes for the outdoor kitchen utensils cozy couch books big comfy bed outback/pit toilet just an absolutely homey Yurt! Arthur the host was so attentive and helpful and always available if needed, thank you Arthur for being an awesome host and for a wonderful stay of my first HipCamp adventure.

Perfect Place to Suck Out All the Marrow of Life! Excellent directions and communication (limited cell service but awesome WiFi on site). The property is gorgeous with trails and waterfalls (and future campsites) to explore, and the surrounding area has plenty of hiking, swimming and recreating opportunities. The studio was a blend of modern tech and remote natural retreat and was outfitted with everything we needed to cook our own simple meals. Even though the main house is directly attached, James and Linda were so quiet we wouldn’t even have known they were there if we hadn’t seen the car parked outside the house. We’d definitely love to go back and explore more of the area.
