The place has been farmland since about 1926. It became a family horse property with three pastures and now is a small lavender and blackberry farm. While it is limited to two RV sites, there may be farm visitors walking around the area. Tall cedars and fir remain in the back of the property and provide for a forest experience. It is not a commercial campground. We are now turning it into a small lavender farm. About half of the original pasture is now covered in black ground mat and 3,000 newly planted lavender. Learn more about this land: One acre pasture for dry RV camping (no restroom facilities). There is a potable water/hose bib and an auxilliary 110 volt 15 amp AC connection via extension cord from barn. You should rely primarily on your own power. Walking trails are in cedar trees and on hill across 10 acres with flower fields and blackberry "farm". Free blackberry picking in season (August and Early September). Deer, racoons, foxes, bald eagles and occassional coyote on site. Keep food and trash secure. No toilet or sewer available. There is one portable "porta potty" type facility. Dry camping only, no camp fires allowed due to fire conditions. Pack out own trash/garbage. No Pets allowed. Only visible neighbors are three horses on neigboring 10 acre farm property. There is Wi-Fi. Beach access has been closed.

This property is a large RV site with 2 separate hookups directly across the street from Mayo Cove Inlet, 1 mile from Penrose State Park, 3 miles from Joemma State Park, and less than a mile from Bay Lake. Across the street from the RV site is access to Mayo Cove Inlet where you can easily drop your kayak or paddle board into the water. (Know Lakebay Marina is currently not open). There is still access to the water! It's only a short paddle out before you will have a stunning, unobstructed view of Mt Rainier. This cozy cottage is equipped with a queen size bed in a lovely sleeping loft, a small but useful kitchen, a large trex deck with patio furniture, a comfy couch and small dining table. The separate, but luxurious, bath house has a full sized shower, sink, and fully plumbed flushing toilet. There is even a small stacked washer and dryer available. Laundry soap available for purchase. Name brand (no dollar store stuff here) shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. A cozy heater keeps the tiny house warm on cool days, but there is no air conditioning. The shady woods stay nice and cool, and there are lots of screened windows to let in the breeze. The sleeping loft also has two screened windows and a fan if the nights are warm. The kitchen has a gas 2 burner stove, a mini fridge, toaster oven, hot water kettle, french press coffee maker, dishes, utensils, pots/pans, and other basics. The bed has 100% cotton sheets, pillow cases, and blanket. As well as a comfy coverlet. A feather alternative duvet is available for colder nights. There is only one bed and it is not recommended for small children to sleep in the loft as there is no safety rail or gate up there. If a child is present it is recommended (almost required) that they sleep on the couch in the lower living space.

Please note, this is HARSTINE ISLAND, NOT HERRON. I haven't gotten Hipcamp to fix this yet. There is a bridge to the island and the coordinates offered for site are correct. The map says beach shore Rd but the physical sign says Klondike. Very clean commercially maintained outhouse now available! Beautiful peaceful forest with trails, a great spot for elopements (elopement package separate) and a beautiful meadow with a small ringed fire pit for one site and a movable fire pit for another.. 2 meadow sites in 5 acres, a forested tent sight coming. 70% of the Island is forestry but sound DOES carry a long way so it's not dead-quiet. Harstine Island has a BRIDGE, no ferry! One hammock is left up in the forest and there are places for your hammocks to be hung, as well. There is one spot on drive that is between two trees so you need to go slowly and be careful, 9 foot wide at wheel base only. Please take note of this. Easy for cars, a bit tricky for some trailer/RVs. Photo and video can be seen on webpage. Types of wildlife include barred owls, a nighthawk usually in summer can be seen at dusk, western alligator lizards, warblers, robins, crows, wrens, a bear has visited before (lucky me heard it 'woof' at me, bear didn't appreciate my singing), deer, others have seen red fox in the past but we have not been so lucky. Birder's paradise. One lovely review calls it a great place for forest bathing! Puget sound is SO clean here with a diverse salt water life. Orca and Humpback have been spotted nearby. You can track them at Orca Network or Puget Sound Whale Sightings on Facebook. Frequently people have seen orca making rounds with the incoming tide going under the bridge and circling the island! There is Jarrell Cove state park and a boat ramp at Latimer's Landing Boat Launch few miles way. There is a great local market at the community center Saturdays from 10-12 in the summer. No water view, this is heavy forest off a gravel drive into privacy. No power, no water, pack it in pack it out. Please be careful of deer when you are driving in and observe island speed limits. Familiarize yourself with the personal fire extinguisher at the site.

It's a relaxing drive to our place from downtown Belfair right along the beautiful Hood Canal. We are tucked away in a back neighborhood 379 feet above sea level. Very peaceful and quiet! You must have a fully self-contained RV to stay at our property as there are no public bathroom or shower facilities available. So come on out and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. This special place has sweeping views, including a stunning shot of Mount Rainier on clear days. Surrounded by forested land including a park preserve, the land is usually quiet and fairly private. A great place to watch birds, access multiple park trails by foot, or just enjoy being outside in nature. If you plan to bring a dog, do check which trails do and don't allow four-footed friends. There are old fruit trees on the land that give plentiful fruit (most years) starting in August, and depending on the time of year you'll also find blackberries, huckleberries and salal berries. (Do watch for sporadic spots of poison oak but they are few and far between.) Plenty of spots to set up tents, as well as two van-designated camping spots separate and not in eye-shot from tent-camping meadow. Serving all is an outdoor/covered low-tech compost toilet tucked into the trees a couple minutes walk from the meadow. There is also a spigot near the parking area with hose where you can rinse off dishes, gear etc. If you'd like to drink this water, we recommend filtering it first. A public swimming hole on Lake Florence is a short drive away, along with beaches. Check back with us in the future as well, because we have big plans for additional amenities.

Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. Enjoy a private stay shaded by beautiful fir and maple trees. Surrounded by wildlife including owls, eagles, hawks, cranes and other singing birds. Walk past our chickens to a quiet country road and see goats, horses and cows. Less than ten minute drive from three different lakes (square, horseshoe and long lake), Downtown Port Orchard, and other parks / trails (Jackson Lund, McCormick woods, and banner forest heritage park). Park in our large level (15x9ft) gravel parking spot suitable for a trailer or RV. Setup a tent on a level soft sand pad (15ftx10ft). Enjoy a large fire pit and long picnic table. There is also a private locking Rustic outhouse with a composting toilet stocked with TP, wood pellets and hand sanitizer. No other utilities. Extra parking available for a second vehicle.

Loved this adults only oasis. It's a small grounds with only a handful of spots so it's perfect for those seeking solitude and respite, situated equidistant to two mid-size towns so convenience is never far away. Group of 4 elected strawberry camp, enjoyed its privacy. It's an uphill walk to the shared firepit, be advised may feel a bit steep. We enjoyed making fajitas and smores over the campfire and watching the stars peek out over the full moon. In the morning, listening to the sounds of nature and watching eagles soar overhead was amazing. Porta potty is in very clean condition, near pristine. These folks put a lot of care and heart into their place and it shows. This was our first go at a car camp adventure and we all enjoyed it. The hosts are warm welcomers and happy to walk you through the site. If you need recommendations for the area, please do ask them! They recommended us a fantastic place to grab lunch. Sauna was a terrific way to end our stay, alternating between the heat and the chilly fresh air outside was invigorating. This place is such a gem, especially for solo and couple travelers. Would stay again.

Bob & Cindy (rest in paradise) have made the perfect, serene hideaway that is still not far from fuel and necessities in town. You feel like you're in a quiet Disney movie with deer that approach to say hello and bunnies stand at your feet. The gardens are beautiful and the fruit trees are gorgeous. Bob is one of the most approachable, blessed men we have ever come across. Always willing to help with everything. We miss it already!!

We loved staying with our truck camper and doggos at Alison's place. Alison and her partner were very friendly and welcoming. Their camping space and sauna/spa facilities were beautifully curated, clean and very peaceful. We loved all of the wildlife and bird viewing! Their property felt quiet and remote despite being very conveniently located - grocery, sani dump, hardware and everything else you could need is a short drive away. We were commuting to downtown Tacoma each morning and it only took us about 30 minutes. We'd definitely love to come back and would recommend this space to anyone.

Hosts were very attentive , welcoming, friendly and receptive to our needs. Listing was accurate and the property is extremely well kept. We even asked to switch campsites and they helped us move to a different site on the property with no problems. Over all great experience.

The hosts were wonderful and attentive. We had the BEST time! Lots of trails. Great signage for the beach. We loved having the path lit to the porta potties! Next to the restrooms was a sink for our use… loved that!! Birds and chipmunks everywhere. We were also visited by an owl!! What a great time! Thank you for everything Carrie and John <3

Beautiful, peaceful site tucked away in the trees. You can hear the creek trickling in the background, which makes it incredibly relaxing. The site is spacious, easy to access, and feels very safe and private. Having water and 30-amp power right at the site is a huge plus, and the host is very responsive and helpful. A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here just under two weeks and had a really good stay.. The spot itself is level and has a nice private area. It is situated about 15–20 minutes from town and is in a really quiet area. Friendly host and neighbors. I would stay here again and would recommend to others looking for a quiet and peaceful place.

Forest bathing and a wonderful vintage tiny home on the forest. Cooked great food in the lovely oven and range. Tyler daily lipsticks the honey bucket with daily cleaning including flowers and essential oil. Beautiful large leaf maple forest and a host that welcomes you to the experience.

Great space and friendly hosts! Enjoyed staying on their property and getting to use their awesome and inviting set up. The outdoor shower and sauna were a nice end to the trip and the fire to cook on! In a truck camper and worked great in the space with a few levelers to assist. Would definitely return here.

When to go

The best time to visit Kopachuck State Park is during the summer months when the weather is warm and the beach invites for a swim. However, the park's beauty can be enjoyed year-round from 8am to dusk. Winter visits offer a peaceful solitude, but be prepared for cooler temperatures and the possibility of a burn ban affecting fire pit use.

Know before you go

Ensure you have a Discover Pass; an annual pass is $30, and a one-day pass is $10.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Be aware that the beach does not have ADA access, so plan accordingly.
