Labor Day Special: Fall bookings offered at lower prices this weekend! The property is adults only and offers a mini luxury spa experience in a naturally immersive setting. Amenities: Sauna and spa experience included with booking! No extra fees or time slots! A traditional outdoor 8' x 8' electric steam/dry sauna is available for guests to enjoy, along with an outdoor shower and two outdoor tubs (hot and cold). The sauna is a new high quality bespoke build with room for a couple people to fully stretch out, or for six or so people to sit comfortably. It features a Finish Iki heater with seven boxes of rocks that delivers deep heat. Five adjustable air vents and the ability to control the heater provide precise heat, good air flow, and an exceptional user experience. Thermometer, hygrometer, sand timers, essential oils, mood lighting, and spa towels provided. The two outdoor tubs can each fit two people comfortably and are also deep enough to cold plunge in. Guests also have access to a communal use pavilion with large farm table and benches, fire pit, sundeck, and garden area with lounge furniture and hammock stand. Enjoy private forest camping in a peaceful field surrounded by native landscape. There are three short walk-in campsites for tents, and one site (Cedar Camp) for car camping, or teardrop campers. The property is not suitable for large RVs. Relax in a quiet setting with minimal road noise all while being in a great location only a short drive to Gig Harbor (one of the best small towns in Washington). The property is home to plenty of birds and deer, and you may even spot an owl during your stay. Located just minutes from Gig Harbor and Puget Sound, this is a great base for beach days, kayaking on Olalla Bay, or exploring the charming waterfront community of Gig Harbor. The property offers easy access from Highway 16 and is about 45 minutes from the Hood Canal Bridge, making it a convenient stop on your way to or from the Olympic Peninsula. Tacoma is just a 30-minute drive away, and Seattle is easily reached by driving or by taking the ferry from Southworth to downtown Seattle or West Seattle. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac) is approximately a 40-minute drive away. A shared (clean) porta-potty and a 5-gallon water jug with a spigot are available for guest use.

Strawberry Camp is a short distance (200 ft)walk-in tent site. A garden wagon is available. Please do not drive up the hill to the site. The site is tucked into the hillside just down from the pavilion on the edge of the tree line. The location makes the site feel naturally immersive and private. The site gets part sun/part shade for all day enjoyment. The two tent spots are relatively flat and large enough for tents 8x8. This is a new Hipcamp and a brand new site. Clover ground cover is established in the primary tent area. A second tent spot with mulch was added the last week of July. Additional upgrades and improvements are planned. Guests will have access to a sauna, as well as a pavilion, fire pit (split firewood provided), garden area, outdoor shower, and sundeck. The site has a portable toilet, and a five-gallon water jug.

This site is located on a nice flat section of lawn behind the sundeck on the upper bench behind the house and close to all the common area amenities. Landscape beds, mature cedars, and a small old orchard are close by. The site gets part sun/part shade for all day enjoyment. The tent area is large enough for multiple tents or tents with a larger than average footprint. Guests will have access to a sauna, as well as a pavilion, fire pit (split firewood provided), garden area, outdoor shower, and sundeck. Thimbleberry Camp is a short distance (200 ft)walk-in tent site. A garden wagon is available The site has a portable toilet, and a five-gallon water jug.

Salmonberry tent site is located near the pavilion toward the top of the hill on the upper bench behind the house. The site is a short distance walk-in tent site. A garden wagon is available. Parking for the site is in front of the house and a path by the garden/greenhouse leads to the site. Guests will have access to a sauna (clothing optional), as well as a pavilion, fire pit (split firewood provided), garden area, outdoor shower, and sundeck. The site has a portable toilet, and a five-gallon water jug.

Cedar camp is our one site for vehicle camping. The site was upgraded with a 25 x 12 flat vehicle space bordered by logs in early August. Cedar Camp is set in a forest opening on a moderate hill, surrounded by cedar trees (of course). For vehicle camping this site can accommodate only one vehicle. Setting up a tent (or two small tents) behind or next to your vehicle works well. Two additional parking only spots are available for this site with no extra vehicle fee. Parking is on the left immediately off the gravel driveway about half way up as you approach the house. Designated camping for this site is in the flatter area in the middle of the opening just off the pull through. Lovely spot to watch and listen to birds, read a book, or just relax. Guests will have access to a sauna on-site, as well as a pavilion, picnic table, fire pit, garden area, and sundeck. These are a short walk from parking and tent sites. Please do not expect or attempt to drive to them The site has a portable toilet, and a five-gallon water jug. Electronics can be recharged at the house. There are no RV hookups at the site.

Relaxing oasis!

Allison and Brian are creating an oasis with a lot of attention to details. It is a beautiful property that is close to many activities in the area. We attended an event in Tacoma for a day and it was an easy trip. Communication was easy and quick. We recommend staying at least a few days. Besides lots of things to do close by, staying at the campsite was so relaxing! You do not want to miss out on the beautiful sauna, the comfortable lounge area or taking a stroll in their small, but magical forest. We highly recommend staying with Allison and Brian!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campsite! Since it’s their first year in operation, the hosts are still fine-tuning things and are very welcoming of feedback. The amenities were a major highlight—the sauna and cold plunge were absolutely delightful. While there is only one communal firepit and picnic table for the whole camp, it ended up being a wonderful way to meet fellow campers. They even had all the firewood, kindling, and fire starters thoughtfully prepped and ready to go. A quick tip for future guests: because the campground is still being established, the actual tent areas are very dirt-heavy. I highly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and socks rather than sandals around camp. However, the upper common area with the sauna, firepit, and picnic table is grassy and relaxing. Also, the individual campsites aren't numbered yet, so it took us a minute to figure out exactly where to pitch our tent. Overall, it’s a great location, and I'm sure it will only continue to get better with time!

Salmonberry Tent Site

Alison & Brian are caring and considerate hosts. Their new hipcamp offers very clean facilities on a beautiful property. While they’re still working on developing their campsites and hipcamp offering, I would only expect people’s experiences to improve over time. It’s obvious how much they care. For sauna lovers, the sauna is great and gets plenty hot. The cold plunge tubs are refreshing. The shower has hot water and great pressure. It’s quiet at night. Two big towns within 15 minutes, and yet it feels more like a remote or country destination.

A great place to camp! Super close to the city yet far enough away to see the stars. The sauna and cold plunge were a nice added touch. They seem to be working on making campsites a little more defined but you can see how once it all fills in the place will be even better.

We had a short but pleasant stay at Alison and Brian's property (Cedar Camp) after a backpacking trip in the Olympics. It was quiet, pleasant, and the shower was oh so needed! It was a little hard to find a level spot for my friend's camper van, but they had been actively clearing the area so the site may be flatter now. I wish we had had time to enjoy their backyard spa.

A Peaceful Stay

This property is beautiful- Alison and Brian are also very welcoming and friendly hosts! There's ample space to set up your tent, multiple sources of potable water to refill your water bottles, and firewood on-site. The sauna, firepit, outdoor shower, and provided hammock stand are such awesome amenities that made the camping experience really feel like glamping. You're woken up in the morning by sounds of birds and the glistening of morning dew. Would stay here again.

Very well equipped and beautiful place to camp! Lots of amenities, very clean, gorgeous property. Brian & Alison are terrific hosts. We went on a walk/hike to Anderson Pointe Park just a 10 min drive away. Olalla Vineyard & Winery is just around the corner and it is a fun place to stop for a little wine tasting. We enjoyed the sauna, cold plunge, firepit, and sun deck. Highly recommend this Hip Camp site!

Quite, beautiful and peaceful

I had a great stay at Alison and Brian's Hipcamp. They were friendly, welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed while also giving me plenty of privacy. The campsite was peaceful, surrounded by trees, and a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. I especially enjoyed having access to the sauna, and I appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the outdoor shower, fire pit, and pavilion. The property felt well cared for, and the location was convenient for exploring Gig Harbor and the surrounding area. I also really liked how easy it was to get to Seattle by taking the nearby ferry, which made for a stress-free day trip without having to deal with city traffic. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to camp, and I'd happily stay here again.
