Serenity on Harstine Island is a peaceful waterfront property with 100+ feet of private shoreline on Case Inlet, in South Puget Sound. The natural beauty is breathtaking — sweeping water views, deer that frequent the adjacent woods, occasional orca sightings, and Mt. Rainier visible on clear days. The campsite has neighbors on only one side, and a gravel pathway makes beach access easy. Some of the things our guests love about the property: * Reading and watching sunsets from the bulkhead * Exploring the beach at low tide — calm, kid-friendly water * Launching kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboards on the protected inlet * Stargazing — minimal light pollution * Late-summer sun-ripened blackberries on the property Important to know before booking: there is no toilet on the property and no garbage service. You must be in a self-contained RV/camper with its own bathroom, or bring a portable toilet and pack out all human waste. You also need to pack out all trash. The cabin and decks are private and off-limits to guests. The Island Shores Community Beach (with a boat launch ramp, just north of the house on the beach) is also private and not for camper use. Pets are welcome on a leash; a wildlife preserve with nesting birds sits next door, so leashes apply on the beach too. About 2 to 2.5 hours from Seattle via Tacoma and the Harstine Island bridge. We hope our guests enjoy the tranquility of this place as much as we do.Serenity on Harstine Island is a quiet, single-party waterfront campsite on Case Inlet in South Puget Sound — about 2 to 2.5 hours from Seattle by way of Tacoma and the Harstine Island bridge. You get the whole site to yourselves. The campsite has 100+ feet of private waterfront on a calm inlet, a level 50' × 35' gravel parking pad, water and 110V electric hookups, a picnic table, two Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit. Firewood is available on-site for a small fee. A gravel pathway and stairs lead down to the bulkhead and beach. Past guests highlight: Mt. Rainier views on clear days, sunsets over the inlet, occasional orca sightings, sun-ripened blackberries in late summer, and a kind of quiet you can hear. The calm inlet is ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding — bring your own gear. Best suited for pop-up campers, campervans, and small-to-mid travel trailers up to 25 ft. We strongly recommend BACKING IN from the main road; turning around inside the gravel pad is tight. Important to know before booking: there is no toilet on the property. The adjacent Island Shores Community area (visible from our beach, with a boat launch and kayak stands, north of the house on the beach) is also private and not for camper use. Pets are welcome on leash — a wildlife preserve sits next door (with nesting birds), so leashes apply on the beach too. Nearby: Harstine Island State Park, Jarrell Cove State Park, Fudge Point, McMicken Island (walkable across a sand tombolo at low tide), the Wild Felid Advocacy Center, Olympic Bakery, and the Harstine Island farmers market.
