This is a 10 acre camp of wooded hills. This campsite currently has an rv pad for rent and a featured camp site with a hobbit house. Soon to be more tent sites. There is a firewood stand on site and bundles are only $5! The hobbit house is built back into a hillside and is underground, round doors, and arched ceiling stays true to hobbit architecture. This is a glamping opportunity. Inside the hobbit house there is a full bed for two, with a quality mattress and an adjustable bed frame that has a motor to lift body to sit up or you can raise legs. There is power inside and a small microwave for cooking. 30 feet away is a sink for cleaning and good drinking water. There is a bathroom area a short way down the hill with a flushing toilet and heated shower. Outdoors includes a fire pit, a few small springs and ponds and lots of trails to explore. Your shelter and mattress will be top notch, however this is still a campground and you need to be prepared as a camper. Currently we do not have a refrigerator, bring your own cooler. No silverware, or plates are provided. You can heat things in the microwave or cook over the fire. Bring whatever utensils are needed. Within a couple miles of our location is Lewis River Golf Course, as well as popular water spotd of Merwin Lake Park, and floating the Lewis River. We have a scavenger hunt set up on the trails of our property if you want the challenge of finding our targets as you walk the trails.READ LAST PARAGRAPH BEFORE BOOKING. What an incredible little spot. The place was easy to find, very cosy in the rain with a fantastic view. The automatic bed was delightful so you could have a sofa and a bed. Traffic was a little loud as others have mentioned, otherwise spot on!

Robs property and hobbit house is a must visit on your PNW checklist. With ten acres of property to roam, a very clean bathroom facility and a cozy atmosphere what else is there you could want? The bed is beyond comfortable with adjustable features and a cozy electric fireplace to keep your warm during your stay. There was a book to leave a review but no pen so bring your own, games inside the house and even a microwave! There is optional wood to buy but we brought our own. The road to reach the hobbit house is very gravely, I’d recommend 4wd.

We had an amazing three nights at Hobbit House. Rob was gracious host and came by to say hi. Our little dogs loved it. Lots of pretty sights to see near by and our visit to Mt Saint Helens was a highlight of the visit. Would definitely recommend it and hope to come back someday. Thank you for the lovely “glamping” experience!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Magical stay at the Hobbit House! What an incredible find! This Hobbit House in Woodland, WA was easily one of the most unique and memorable places I've stayed. The attention to detail in the design was amazing — it really felt like stepping into a fairy tale, with a cozy, whimsical charm that photos honestly don't do justice. The setting was peaceful and private, surrounded by beautiful nature, which made it easy to unwind and disconnect. It was clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for by the host, who was responsive and made check-in a breeze. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a fun family adventure, or just a break from the ordinary, this spot delivers. We loved every minute and would absolutely book again. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Woodland/Mount St. Helens area looking for something a little different!

Didn’t want to leave!

We had a really nice time at the hobbit house! The little house itself was very comfortable - we loved having the adjustable bed! It was nice to be able to get wood when we got there. We weren’t able to pull our Honda fit up the drive but the house is very close. It was extremely nice to have a flushing toilet and a sink right next to us to be able to wash dishes, get water, brush teeth etc. The neighbors dog visited us a few times, but our dog recently had leg surgery so we had to shoo her away. She then kept her distance and the neighbor had a collar for her so it wasn’t really an issue at all! But if you have a reactive dog it could be tricky. There is some vehicle noise from the nearby highway but we stopped noticing it after the first day and it really dies down at night - then you start hearing all of the different insect and frog calls! Overall an amazing place to disconnect while still having a few creature comforts that really make a difference. We stayed for three days and didn’t want to leave.

End of summer camping

This stay is going down as one of our favorites! Close enough to town but the land is secluded enough to feel like you’re miles away. Walking the trails and the scavenger hunt was fun! We pretty much stayed on the property the entire stay. And Rob stopped by on the second day to check in which I thought was thoughtful. Besides bedding- pretty much bring everything else. There is a microwave if needed. Can not wait to return!

Camping with Comfort

This place is great, we spent three nights & will do it again. The site comes with chairs, a big table outside by the fire pit and you can buy wood from the stand just as you enter the property. If you do find that you need to run into town i recommend stopping by the Woodland Corner store. They have all the quick stop items you might need and if they dont there is a grocery outlet just up the road. The site has power both in the Hobbit house and out at the sink by the flushing bathroom they recently added. There is an adjustable bed in the hobbit house that is like icing on the cake if like my wife you suffer from back issues that prevent sleeping on the ground from being enjoyable. There is a resident eagle that hunts the valley at dawn and dusk that is a joy to watch. It's also just far enough out that you get to enjoy the stars and the night time symphony that the forest provides. The locals are friendly but respectful enough to give you space. Rob the host is very approachable and quite frankly a life saver for my wife and I. The weekend went flawlessly right up to the last couple hours, we turned off the dome lights to the car while loading up but didnt realize the tail gate was still on. Went to start the car and click click click lol. Rob was kind enough to stop what he was doing and come down to our rescue. For us this was a huge success and we will be back, if you love to camp but need a few of the creature comforts this is definitely the experience for you. 10/10

Such a Fun and Unique Place to Stay

We had such a memorable stay at this Hobbit-themed campsite! The cabin was incredibly unique and full of thoughtful Lord of the Rings details, from the round door and Middle-earth map to the character displays inside. The peaceful wooded setting and private firepit made it feel like a real escape from the city. We also really appreciated that the property was pet-friendly, so we could bring our cat with us. It was a fun, cozy, and one-of-a-kind experience, and you can tell the owner put a lot of care into creating the space. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Magical Stay!

My son and I loved staying the night in the Hobbit House! We were just passing through on the way home from a road trip and I am SO glad we happened upon it on Hipcamp. Beautifully constructed with so many thoughtful LOTR touches. The bed was super comfortable and the house stayed cozy warm inside even after the sun went down. We didn’t have stuff to cook with along, but picked up an amazing pizza from the corner store in Woodland. We loved sitting by the fire pit and watching the sun set. I definitely plan to return!

Great Place to stay

Group trip

This was a very nice place. The hobbit house is beautiful. The property has a lot of trails to follow. We loved being able to have a fire to cook on and it is located pretty close to the National Park and other swimming attractions. Rob has a video of how he built it. All in all it was worth it and would recommend to any LOTR fans.

Wonderful hobbit glamping adventure

This was my first time ever “glamping” and it will be hard to go back to tent camping after this experience! The hobbit house was magical, the LOTR nerd in me was so excited to get to stay here. Very private! Large fire pit for campfires and 2 chairs to sit in, large table which was perfect for us to cook on. I def will be planning future trips here!

Camping/glamping with a dog!

We loved the full Hobbit experience!! As a family of four with our dog tagging along it was perfect. Two slept in the hobbit house, two slept in the tent just to the right with the dog preferring the hobbit house. Stayed Nice and cool in the heat of the summer! Perfect setup with flush toilet and sink for all our needs. High recommend. Definitely need four wheel drive to get up the full driveway.

Loved the set up and the land it was on, great time with the kids, close to A LOT of fishing and hiking, clean and overall wonderful stay. I do advise bringing a 4 wheel drive as the lead up there is tricky, but also walkable.

Let your imagination wander

Such a fun, fantastical place to stay. From the glowing lanterns in the round windows to the rustic looking guest book, the little touches certainly help carry your imagination to the Shire. The hobbit hole stayed comfortably warm regardless of the cool wet weather outside and the numbers scavenger hunt was a fun way to explore the property! I definitely would recommend this place to friends and I hope to return to it myself.

Unique experience! Would recommend

My husband and I were so excited to visit the Hobbit house! And it did not disappoint! It was very cool, lots of fun throwbacks to the movie inside the house. The amount of work that went into it, is very impressive. I liked that there was a flushable toilet to use only 20 ish feet away from the house. Things to note. The road getting to the house was a bit tricky for us in our vehicle (awd Highlander). I didn't pay close enough attention to the description, you definitely need all camping cookware none is provided. Rob did leave a couple of pokers for us to bbq our hot dogs over the fire which was very sweet. You do need to bring fire wood and starters (he also has bundles for sale at the start of the property). Very peaceful, space heater inside the home works VERY well. My husband and I are not tiny humans and so the bed wasn't comfortable for us to share. All in all, very cool experience, and very happy we stayed.

The Hobbit house was such an amazing experience! The host was very kind and the view absolutely amazing. The electricity was very helpful as was the flushing toilet and running water nearby. My daughter drove and had some trouble getting up the driveway as her car is a manual transmission and the sharp turn uphill on gravel was a challenge for her. We ended up parking down the hill and hauling our stuff up and down the steep driveway. The sounds of the neighbor's generator and the sounds of the road was the only reminder that we weren't in the actual Shire. We are definitely going back!

So adorable and love the thoughtful touches inside like the replica of the ring and all the Lord of the Rings books. The final part of the driveway is steep and loose gravel, so we had to park at the bottom of the hill, but it was just a short walk up to the hobbit home.

This was an incredible stay!! We enjoyed it so much. The campfire pit at night was lovely, the walkway to hobbit house was perfection, the inside was so cool and cozy, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean. All of the Lord of the Rings touches were so fun, and all the details were amazing. Amazing stay, 10/10 recommend.
