From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers.
Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit.
If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. The Appalachian Trail is just over the top of the mountain and Harpers Ferry National Park is down the road and over the Shenandoah River.
We might be a teeny bit biased, but we think this is area of northwest Loudoun County, VA is one of the loveliest places in the world.

The recreational draw to this area is hard to beat in VA, and this property has it all for an amazing outdoor weekend! The ranch comprises 40 acres of lowland acreage designated for the camp, including a 5-acre lake.
The Cedar Grove sites 1, 2, and 3 are along the banks of Passage Creek located within a sparse, groomed Cedar grove. They are all a short walk (or drive) to the lake and beach amenities. Each site has varying access to the creek, so check out the site details. These sites are extra large and can accommodate multiple family groups, as well as, travel trailers of all sizes up to off-road motorcoaches in site 1. There are no hookups, so just boondocking. Pack it in, Pack it out. Generators are allowed but please be aware of the other sites and direct the noise away.
The Lakeside Mountain Stream site is very secluded, nestled between the mountains and the lake. It overlooks our 5-acre lake with mountain views in the background. It's on the opposite side of the lake from the Cedar Sites. This site has its own dock and is just a short walk down a mowed trail to a beautiful section of Passage Creek. An additional seasonal mountain stream can cascade behind the site and run under it to feed the lake when the conditions are right. It's a delicate site, so the accommodations and group size is strictly limited.

Located just 4 miles from Strasburg, Virginia, we are within striking distance of a variety of hiking and outdoor adventures, including the Strasburg River Walk (5 miles away), Signal Knob Trail (13 miles away), Elizabeth Furnace Recreational Area (13 miles away), Tuscarora Trail Eagle Rock Trail (19 miles away), Shenandoah River State Park (24 miles away), Overlook Trail (25 miles away), and Camp Roosevelt Recreation Area (27 miles away).
Downtown Strasburg also has tons of antique shops, Box Office Brewery, The Pancake Underground, Old Dominion Doggery, Burger Shoppe, Ice Cream Depot, and the Strasburg Museum, which is great for anyone who loves trains or history.
We are a short drive to Woodstock and Front Royal as well. Or take in a movie at The Family Drive in Theatre, just 14 miles away.

There's a portable camping toilet set up in a pop-up tent (please pack your waste out with you when you leave!). The site also includes a private fire pit and picnic table, but no running water.

Our first time camping here and we absolutely loved it! We camped at hilltop two and the views were absolutely incredible. It was super easy to find and Greg’s hospitality was so kind. This place is so perfect because the drive from Virginia has the best views and goes through really beautiful and scenic views to get to the site. Once on the site, we were able to go on several walks along the sea and O canal path and there is access to the river as well. I definitely recommend this site and we are coming back for sure!

Eric’s property was absolutely perfect! Such a beautiful area, stunning views and tons of space! The lakeside site was perfect for our group as we love fishing, swimming and kayaking. We even got to see Eric stock the lake Saturday morning with this seasons catfish. Such a friendly host! They have plenty of on site activities such as kayaks, canoes, floatation devices, firewood, fish food, charcoal grills and a nice outdoor toilet set up and handwashing station. We will definitely come back again and again!

Such a beautiful campsite. The sounds of the creek while you sleep along with star gazing at night while enjoying the fire was wonderful. We also had our puppy with us. She loved the open fields and was so curious about the adorable sheep in the property. Our host also was very attentive and he checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything.
We did leave early because of the impending rain storm coming but would have loved to stay longer. We are already planning a 2nd trip and will bring friends along.

Camp Comus was a wonderful stay near Sugarloaf Mountain and a cozy place to stay after a day of hiking. The grounds were beautiful, the animals were friendly and they provided ample firewood. The farmhands on the property were nice and really helpful.
Additionally, the barn house which housed the bathroom and shower was accessible throughout the night and easy to find (even in the dark).
10/10 property. Easily one of my favorite Hip Camps.

A different and beautiful place, full of peace and tranquility—just the way we like it. Watching the sunset and the sunrise was amazing, and not to mention the sounds of the birds, the geese, the little goats, and even spotting Bambi 🥰. We had a great stay at Campsite 9! The site itself was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. Greg was awesome—super friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience even better.
Also, the firewood bundle was more than enough for the night, which was a nice bonus. Overall, highly recommend this spot and would definitely come back!

He also offered us fresh eggs!
Beautiful location! Loved watching the goats graze in the field, and we visited the many variety of fowl and the emus were fun to visit!
Perfect spot to visit nearby attractions, such as Antietum and Harper’s ferry.
