116 acres of forrest, hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. Camptown is our largest site. It features a large fire pit and a circular field that can accomodate 10 to 15 or more tents. You can also park smaller camper vans, teardrops, etc. in this large area. Good for parties, family reunions. The "# person" per site listing considers adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! By the way, that labryinth entrance is behind the kiosk. It's the largest of it's kind in North America. It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet we have beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running around the labryinth whooping it up. (sites 4 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 10)

Wifi, well water from a hose and composting outhouse facilities are available. Other amenities include a six hole disc golf course, little free library. Within one hour’s ride is a wealth of things to do, experience and see; within reach are the Shenandoah mountains, the University of Virginia and Charlottesville and Lake Anna . There is something for everyone from children to seniors, from outdoor adventurers, to history buffs, arts and entertainment seekers, bargain shoppers and local gourmet food and drink lovers. At days end you can go to concerts or “clubbing” in town or return to Billyville and enjoy the quiet, peaceful ambiance of a campfire under a starlit sky. Check-Ins and Arrival Instructions: Check-ins on weekdays are dependent on my work schedule. If this is your first time at Billyville, I need to be on property to guide you into your site. Please reach out before your stay so we can coordinate. If I am off on that day, check-in is after 1pm. If I am working, it will be after 5pm and occasionally after 7. I am currently testing out some procedures to allow self check-in. We'll see how that pans out. Anyway, to get to Billyville: Turn onto Bells Lane. (Dirt Road). You'll see a white fence on your left down the lane about .2 miles. Just after the fence, you'll see a red sign at the beginning of a rope fence. Turn off Bells Lane just after the sign and follow the fence, keeping it on you left. Located conveniently between Richmond and Charlottesville only 3 miles off I-64 but feels like the secluded countryside. There are trails around the property to explore as well (please be considerate of other campers if present). You are welcome to visit the playground behind the tasting barn too. Porta john is also available in front of tasting room building, and water hose on East side of building for small amounts of water if needed (not intended to fill camper tanks). *Do note that we are a public business open Thurs-Mon, so there may be some noise and driveway traffic during open hours. We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

Weekend Trip to Southern Revere Vineyard & Farm

We really liked this spot for a quick camping getaway from Richmond! We enjoyed the winery with a nice selection of beers on our first night and drove out the Shenandoah NP for a hike on day two. We felt like privacy was really good at this spot. (We didn’t realize campers were at another site until we were packing up.) The fire pit with built in grate and the picnic table made for a nice set up.

It's always a pleasure camping at Private Paradise Site This spacious site features a firepit, picnic table, plenty of firewood, and easy access to a nice bend in the river. It also offers a good deal of privacy during the warm months when the foliage has filled in. We'll be back, for sure!

We had a great time at Casa Vargas after taking a day hike in Shenandoah. The waterfront site was beautifully situated right next to the lake. There were beautiful birds and horses to pet. We definitely recommend it and hope to come back soon!

Awesome host! This is our 4th Hipcamp site and we enjoyed every moment here even my 13 years old son said, "Dad, this has been the most stress-fee camping trip ever." We paid $30 to rent the kayaks and my kids enjoyed them as well. Quiet and quaint! We will be back again in the near future!

This was my husband’s and my first camping trip with an electric vehicle and a tent, and it couldn’t have gone better. Ryant was incredibly proactive, reaching out well in advance to ensure we had everything we needed for our electrical setup. He was accommodating and a fantastic host. His property is beautiful, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of guests. We absolutely plan to make this a regular getaway!

The Lakeview site at Casa Vargas was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. We camped right on the shore of the lake and enjoyed watching the swans swimming around. There was a picnic table and a fire ring, and also a couple of kayaks a short walk from our site. There were two or three houses on the other side of the lake, but otherwise nothing but hills, woods, and farmland. The site was remote enough that there was no road noise whatsoever. We used leveling blocks for our camper but probably would have been fine without them. I would highly recommend this site.

Casa Vargas was just what we needed. A quiet and peaceful getaway. We camped at the LAKEVIEW spot. Our dogs had a blast playing in the water but likely scared the fish away for me. The night sky was clear and amazing. And Juan was very welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. I would definitely recommend staying here and we’ll likely return. There are plenty of winery’s and breweries close by but this trip we just chose to sit by the lake and relax.

Weekend Trip to Labyrinth, Trails and Solitude

We stayed at campsite number 1 with a pop-up camper. Access was easy. There was plenty of room, tons of wood for a fire, a labyrinth, and trails. The hosts were amazing and attentive. It took only a few minutes to drive to the town of Orange and nearby are a number of wineries.
