The property was very nice for my overnight pit stop and I'm sure it would be enjoyable for a longer stay. I was a little confused of where to go when entering the property but once I found the pond I was comfortable knowing I was in the right place. The 1.5 mile stretch of road off the main road is a little tight if you're full legal width but that is not a reason not to stay here, just a heads up, and no fault of the host.

The pond was beautiful! We had a nice campfire and all the land was well maintained! It was quiet and we were the only ones there. Tammy even provided us with a fire ring. Excellent place to stay.

The Burton Family farm was a great place to camp for a short weekend. Beautiful fall scenery and very quiet. So much more relaxing and more affordable than camping at an established campground. Tammy and her brother were super kind when we reached out and they helped set us up with a fire pit by the pond. We will add it to our list of great places to camp around Fredericksburg.

I loved tent camping on Tammy's land! There are several great spots along the edge of the pond on their property and it worked great for a large group of tent campers! I also appreciated them providing us with fire rings! We did miss having some kind of tables included with the campsite but we brought along our personal folding tables instead. The sun rise was beautiful every morning coming down across the field too! The location was also perfect for traveling around the Fredericksburg area without being too far away from necessary stores!

Beautiful wide open field! Had an option to pick anywhere to camp (we picked next to the pond). The directions to the camp area was described perfectly pulling up to the site, never got confused or lost. Explanation of the site grounds was also described perfectly, making it easy to come prepared, wish we could have stayed longer! Stress free AND relaxing.

We always enjoy the feeling of abundance among a natural environment. The view is remarkable. The location is efficient! You can locate your spot by driving around the lake/pond - plenty of room to keep your site a distance from others!

It is a lovely farm. But anyone who camps there should know, unlike other hipcamps, there is no support, no one on the property. My van got stuck in the mud, where the ground appeared safe. With no support the host said I had to call a towing company — did that, to the tune of $240. Pretty unhappy since part of the Hipcamp charm is personal attention… have been using Hipcamp since 2020.

Camping at the Burton Family Farm was an amazing experience with exceptional communication with the host, Tammy. As we were traveling for the half marathon in Fredricksburg, we needed a place to stay within close proximity, that also allow dogs. The campsite was very clean, well mowed and easy to find. Additionally, Tammy was very hospitable and replied quickly to communicate. Although we didn't stay long enough to fully enjoy the campsite, The Burton Family Farm will definitely be on our favorites list for the future!

When you arrive you pull into what looks like a junk yard abandoned cars and paving equipment. We were told to watch out it may be a little muddy. We were unable to reach our site due to the mud and had to sleep next to the junk yard. Trying to pull out in the morning we got stuck in the mud. A yard full of trucks and a working farm they would not help and had to call a tow truck. $200 + later we were rolling. The pond looked beautiful from a distance and the field was beautiful.

We absolutely loved our stay here at the Burton Family Farm. We originally planned to stay just a few days, but ended up extending our stay to a week because of how peaceful and wonderful this spot was. We parked by the pond and it was beautiful, with geese, ducks and storks visiting the pond and being surrounded by trees changing colors. Town is only a few minutes away with plenty of food, stores, and grocery options. Even with town close by, it was quiet and secluded. D.C is only an hour away and we took a day trip out there then had a relaxing spot to come back too. Tammy was an amazing host and made our stay exceptional! We can’t recommend Burtons Family Farm enough and will definitely be back next time we come through Fredericksburg!!

We loved the seclusion of our site along the pond. It was well mowed and easy to access. We were able to find a perfectly level spot on the back side of the pond and it was nice and quiet at night. Thank you!

Hi, I’m not the best one to review this place since I arrived after dark and couldn’t fully see the offerings. But I camped by the barbs with my dogs, and it was quiet and a nice place to sleep. No amenities, but it’s what I needed after a long day of driving. (BTW, I don’t know if others will find this, but the markings of Exit 133 were confusing, thus it took an hour longer to get there.)

The site was secluded yet close to everything. We were able to watch a variety of beautiful birds on the pond. Ozzie had a great time playing in the grass, pond and catching frisbee. Would definitely recommend.

This was my first Hipcamp stay and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Tammy was super kind and helpful with my questions. Also very prompt with replies! The land is really peaceful and tent camping was very doable. My dog and I enjoyed the sounds of nature and being right next to the forest, so relaxing. Oh, the available fire pits was great too. I will definitely be a returning camper to this spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed camping on Tammy’s family farm. It was peaceful and scenic, and we particularly appreciated the wildlife that we shared space with. Tammy’s family farm reminded me a lot of the farm I grew up on in Ohio, with a couple of big differences though; the Fredericksburg area has a much richer history with lots of activities nearby. We look forward to camping here again soon.

This campsite offered tranquility and seclusion, offering a serene haven in nature. A picturesque pond was included in the landscape, attracting a variety of birds, including geese and ducks. Each morning was alive with the melodious chirps of various birds which enchanted my daughter. Each day saw stunning sunrises and sunsets, while the night allowed a great view of the night stars. Though rain thwarted our plans to park in the field, ample space along the main drive allowed for a seamless back-in, ensuring our stay remained uninterrupted.

Such a great place! We had the most relaxing time. Ground was solid & easy to level. Being able to park by the pond was really nice. The view was amazing. Tammy was quick to respond when I had questions. We will definitely be back.

The Burton Family Farm was an excellent host and has a beautiful location. The host responded quickly to any questions that came up, before and during our stay. Our stay was October 5th - October 8th. The site was mowed and easy to get in and out of. It was quiet, serene and relaxing. The site is in a country setting but town and local needs are only 5 minutes down the road. Cell service is excellent. We were in the area for a local sports tournament. During our stay, the tournament changed our schedule. I contacted our host to see if we could have a later checkout. Tammy responded within a few minutes. We highly recommend staying at the Burton Family Farm. We will definitely contact you back if we need to stay back in the area. Thank you for hosting us.
