The following are but a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; cruise the Blue Ridge parkway; pick apples at the Orchard at Altapss; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Tom’s Creek Falls or Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. PLEASE DO NOT ‘photo book’!
We ask guests to please read through the details BEFORE booking a site. For example: not all tent sites are park at sites. Some of our more secluded sites in the woods are far from bathrooms etc. Sites near the winery/bathrooms are not secluded and you can see/hear ‘people’.
As of Jan 2025 we change to an age 13+ campground. No one under the age of thirteen years old is permitted to camp overnight. Younger children will still be permitted to visit the winery next door to the campground during open hours but must have an adult (18 years plus) with them at ALL times! Due to an incident that could have ended in tragedy we have a zero tolerance policy of unsupervised children. You will be asked to leave if your young child is unattended by an adult.
During the summer months we often have free range chicken eggs and organic produce and herbs available for our campers. We are next to our own winery/cidery that features home brew wines and beer. We also offer sodas. Firewood is for sale. You may bring your own firewood as long as it’s not from out of state.
We have a few primitive sites in our woods for those who love more seclusion and places to hang hammocks.
We offer Hiking/jogging trails at the campground with more trails on the nearby blue ridge parkway. We are just a 5 minute drive to downtown Little Switzerland. We are also only a 5 minutes drive to the famous Diamondback scenic mountain road. Approximately 20 minutes drive to Crabtree Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Our cantina next door at 539 blue ridge gem mine road is open for the season and serving home brew beers and small batch ciders for ages 21 and older. Photo ID required. Sodas available for purchase as well. We now have a well lit covered porch area and club house with free WiFi and available 24 hours to our campers.
Note: absolutely no outside alcohol or underage alcohol consumption permitted on premises. Anyone not in compliance with North Carolina state laws and federal laws will be evicted from campgrounds without refunds. If the campgrounds happen to be under a burn ban please understand that we can’t and will not break the law for you! All campers must obey the burn ban if in effect or face possible penalties under state law! This is for your own safety as well. Anything sold by us may be legally consumed at your campsite and is covered under our winery ABC permit.
Camp host can’t go to bed until all campers are checked in so no late night arrivals please! Thank you for your understanding.
Adult horseback trail rides are available at nearby Springmaid Mountain Retreat. Maps provided to Springmaid Mountain. All minors must have ADULT supervision at all times at the winery next door (older siblings do not qualify as adult supervision). If we are babysitting your children to keep them out of danger or from damaging our property you’ll be asked to leave. We want everyone to be safe.
Up to 2 dogs are allowed per campsite. Dogs Must remain on leash at all times and have proof of up to date rabies vaccination. We have chickens and horses on our mini farm so please keep dogs under control at all times. Also, please do not feed our chickens, horses or any of the wildlife on our property.
It is the responsibility of our campers to check the weather conditions, noting any burn bans for the area or rain etc, looking at all the rules and property details, before booking is the campers responsibility. Please do not blame the host! HipCamp now offers rainy day insurance
Watch for our special events like ghost story campfire tales/walk with local guest authors, mountain yoga, herbal remedies classes, trail treasure hunts with prizes, mushroom identification classes etc.
Additional parking is available for added cars in the guest parking lot area if campers have no more room at their campsite for visitors or any extra cars.
We have a hot/cold shower and modern style flush toilets available in large cargo container. We also now have free Starlink WiFi in the Cantina/clubhouse area and some of the closer tent sites. Our clubhouse stays open for campers 24/7 with a microwave available, games, television and comfortable seating areas.
Note: The quarter mile of gravel drive is steep but I drive my two wheel drive car up and down it every day. However, if you have a vehicle that chugs and struggles up hills (older RV etc) you may find it a challenge. We are working on getting that section paved to help out the older RVs and buses.

All campers are expected to read and follow the HipCamp guidelines. This is not just a ‘business’, it is also a family home that we are graciously sharing with you for a small fee so we expect campers to respectful of our land, our neighbors and your fellow campers. Anyone who can’t show integrity, maturity and be responsible and respectful of this will be asked to leave and/or permanently banned from both the winery and our campgrounds. No fighting! This includes couples fighting. Settle it 'off property'. We are pretty mellow, yet take bad behavior and disrespect for others very seriously. Unsupervised children has been a huge problem lately and we simply won’t tolerate very young children wandering the woods, running across other folks campsites, deliberately damaging our property etc. It is up to the parents to fully supervise their children and keep them safe!
Caught without a last minute hotel room and rather not park your family in Walmart lot? We offer car camping in our parking lot for $15.00 a night. You’ll have access to bathrooms and a hot shower! We also have tents, sleeping bags and camping mats for rent.
Summer of 2025 will be our third year open and there have been many wonderful improvements! ❤️ We made it through Hurricane Helene with minimal damage and with the help of some kind volunteers we have some great updates!

Our farm is vast and sparse,
focusing on sustainability while giving back to the community. We are a safe haven for animals and humans alike.
Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and wildflowers galore. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.25 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend)
If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it!
The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close.

The climb up sunrise mountain is bumpy, be warned, and do adhere to the conversation and guidance of the host on the call or in person meeting preclimb. Even though the section titled “the climb” is passed each and every visit by capable awdr and 4wdr vehicles, this does not mean everyone is capable of picking a thought out path. Thankfully everyone of our guest have been wonderful in the over 8 years with zero damage to their vehicles. MSG for more info.

We use any downed wood on our property for our family to keep warm and to cut and split ourselves to sell to our guest. Just 30 minutes west, you’ll find the Blue Ridge Parkway. Kerr Scott Lake is only 10 minutes away, where you can swim, rent kayaks and pontoon boats, fish, or enjoy mountain biking and hiking on extensive trails. Prayer Mountain is about 2 miles up the road.
To the east, explore several wineries and a local moonshine distillery. A half-hour away, visit the Amish community with shops like Shiloh Bakery and General Store (closed Sundays and Mondays).
For fantastic hiking, head northeast to Stone Mountain, about 45 minutes away, which also features a renovated homestead. To the south, Rocky Face Park offers hiking and rock climbing, while Emerald Hollow Mine allows you to search for and keep precious stones.

Tri Mountain View Campground is located in the Northeast corner of Tennessee in the town of Shady Valley. With an elevation of 2,800 feet, Shady Valley is the second highest town in Tennessee. It is just 26 miles from the Bristol Raceway and the Bristol Caverns. It is just a 15 minute drive to Backbone rock and a short drive to the Appalachian Trail. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Some of these trees include the rare Butternut and Hazelnut, but mostly White Pine, Walnut and Oaks. The property has approximately 1,000 feet of fishing on Beaver dam creek, so we recommend bringing waders. There is also a shower house, washer and dryer.

Our site was once part of a much larger farm growing tobacco and raising
cattle and other farm animals.
The existing tobacco barn was built in the early 1960's.
The concrete pad used for RV camping was used to store silage for the cows.
The non-potable water source is a mountain spring that has been used on the farm since the 1930's.
While many tobacco barns in the area have been
torn down for their rusted tin roofing and rustic siding, we have worked to
restore the barn and preserve its history.

Get away from the crowds. On 300 beautiful acres once operated as a children's summer adventure camp.. There are 3 primitive campsites, 2 cottages, and a horse sanctuary. The campsites are spaced out around the property for privacy. There are port-a-potties. There may occasionally be a real bathroom available.
4WD or AWD is recommended for all sites due to 1/2 mile gravel road and then completely off road for a short distance. Or, if you are bringing 2WD, there is plenty of parking and then walk to your campsite. We don't recommend trying to bring large RV's due to the access.
We have not had a problem with Black Bears on the property. Help us keep it that way. Do not store or keep food in your tent. Don't sleep with food. Keep in mind bears are omnivores much like us. They eat mostly plants but also eat meat. For more info on bear safety, visit www.bearwise.org
Winter camping is encouraged with free firewood. However, you will probably need to park on the gravel and walk to your campsite to limit soil erosion of the off-road trail.
Pets are welcome only at some sites, but please please let us know you are bringing them and they will need to be leashed due to other animals.
A large part of the property is forest with hiking trails, creeks, and wildlife. You can see wildflowers and lightning bugs in season along with deer, turkey, and horses.
And all of our spots have a great view of the sky! We're not far from the Bare Dark Sky Observatory.
The grass horse arena and the pond were originally built for the summer camp. The pond is stocked with bass and bluegill and has a chorus of bullfrogs in summer. The arena is flat and has a long range mountain view all the way to Mt. Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi). There are also a meadow spot encircled by trees.

Eden Oaks Vineyard & Campground was a tobacco farm (antique tobacco barn still on property). The house was built in 1910 and has been updated. We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard.
We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. Tent sites do not have electricity or water hookups, but water is available at the well. (Due to inflation, 2024 our rates will be $30/night for RV Sites, $25/night for Tent Sites.) We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John
and a list of dump stations nearby.
Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. Campers are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Please be extremely careful during dry or drought conditions.
Conveniently located one mile from Hwy 421 but remote and peaceful with plenty of room to roam on our 22 acres with grapevines, fruit trees, forest, creeks, fields, goats, Beagle and Jackabee (Beagle/Jack Russell) dogs, cows, chickens, ducks and goats. Also, we have wildlife such as birds, squirrels, groundhogs, deer, raccoons, opossums, etc. We are about 15 miles from Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro (home of the Merle Fest and Apple Festival). Eden Oaks is 18 miles from W. Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir, 24 miles from Stone Mt. State Park, and 10 miles from Elkin (sponsors of the Wine Festival and Pumpkin Festival).
Eden Oaks is in the heart of the Yadkin Valley and Swan Creek AVAs
(American Viticultural Area).
We're next door (3 miles) to Raffaldini and Piccione Vineyards.
Take a day trip to Boone, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Airy, Winston-Salem, Charlotte or additional areas of interest.

Shaded and semiprivate in woods with creek on property. Located on a working vineyard in the Swan Creek AVA. Primitive camp sites with campfire pits. Water, garbage cans, some sites have electricity available. We offer individual sites of up to 4 people and group sites of up to 12 people. We have 3 RV sites with water and 50 amp electric service, and one with 30 amp and water. We have 4 primitive tent sites with fire pits. Fully working farm with several wooded areas as well as open spots. We do farm tours and seasonally other events like lamb cuddles, baby goat feeding, etc. Tickets purchased through our website ( LandofMilkandHoneyFarmNC. com ) We farm on land that has been in our family for around 30 years. We are always expanding and improving paddocks and areas to be of better use in our livestock rotational grazing and vegetable/fruit production. Animals that call our farm home include alpacas, Katahdin hair sheep, East Friesian milk sheep, beef cattle, Jersey milk cows, miniature donkeys, pasture/forager pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and quail. We also raise honeybees and bottle their honey on site in our honey processing house. We love our animals and being their caretakers.
Farming takes a large amount of time, work, and expense but it can be very rewarding with the slower pace of life, peaceful setting, and quietness in stepping away from the hustle and stress of normal day-to-day life. Here we get to see some of God’s most intricate details in His creations such as a seed turning into a flourishing plant that provides food as well as its own seed for future plantings (Genesis 1:12 - And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind). We watch honeybees who travel for miles gathering nectar to make honey and witness the miracle of life be born. We want the farm to be a place to come and get away, a respite from the all too familiar busyness of normal life to relax and be at peace.

Growing Faith Farms Retreat was the perfect weekend getaway! The property was private, very well maintained, and in a beautiful area. There were private full bathrooms quite close to the campsite. The host was very proactive and even led us right to our site to make sure we got in all right. I would recommend this site to anyone!

Camping in site B6 with my A frame pop up camper was a beautiful experience. Plumtree Campground staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Directions to the campground were extremely helpful; I recommend you follow them. My location was prefect for my two dogs because just a few steps away is a wide path up the hill alongside a small creek and surrounded by woods. They loved going for walks up there. The bath house is awesome. Lots of hot water for showers and all very clean. I was greeted by the campground cat, Trout, who showed me the way to the bath house. My stay of four nights was a great experience.

The I2 site was very private and peaceful with the creek flowing behind. Beautiful area. Jimmy helped us with anything we needed. Personally would go with I1 next time just to be a little shorter distance to the restrooms , which were extremely clean! The firewood was a little green so hard to get a fire going, but plenty to scavenge around site. Only complaint is the fire pit was a bit distant from the rest of camp, so just a lot of trekking up and down when preparing meals.

Had a wonderful stay at Chrissy’s place at the Amethyst site while I was passing through the area and I couldn’t have been happier. Chrissy is an excellent communicator and goes above and beyond in ensuring her guests have a positive experience. Also I highly recommend trying the winery and brewery, although it is in a casual more rustic & low key setting - the ciders and beer are simply the best of the best and not to be missed- absolutely tell Chrissy what you like to drink and she will pick out something for you that will blow your mind… This entire property is truly a hidden gem and I’m grateful that it was my first Hipcamp experience!

The campsite was beautiful and well maintained, and we especially appreciated the calm surroundings and the view of the farm coming in. We came into the area for FaithFest 2026 which was about a 15 minute drive from Eden Oaks. We stayed in site 2. The site is very large and level. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is perfect and the hosts, Sandra and Roy, couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating.

We absolutely loved our stay here! We came for my daughter’s 7th birthday, and it ended up being exactly the kind of experience I was hoping to give her and her brother.
The property is beautiful, peaceful, and tucked away enough that you genuinely feel like you’re getting away from everything. The dome itself was awesome and made camping with kids feel like an adventure without giving up all the comforts that make a trip enjoyable. Everything was well thought out, and the outdoor area was just as much fun as the dome. The kids especially loved the hammocks and having room to explore, play, and just enjoy being outside.
What I probably appreciated most was seeing how excited the kids were about the whole experience. Sometimes you plan a birthday trip hoping the kids will remember it, and this is definitely one of those trips I think they will. We were able to cook, hang out together, enjoy the property, and slow down for a little while without needing a bunch of other entertainment.
The pictures really don't capture how neat the setting is once you're actually there. It felt private, relaxing, and genuinely different from just staying in a hotel or regular cabin.
William has created a really special place, and I would absolutely recommend it to families, couples, or anyone wanting a unique little getaway. We made some great memories here and would happily come back again.

The Hilltop Safari Tent was exactly what we needed for a secluded weekend away with the dog. The tent itself has a ton of helpful things in it like a table big enough for 4 people to sit and eat, a fan, a keurig, and a generator to plug things into. We enjoyed sitting by the fire at night and walked around the campsite during the day. It is very private and away from the other campsites. So if that's your speed, this is right up your alley. The clearing in front of the Safari tent is big enough for more tents and more vehicles. We spoke a lot about how nice it would be to have friends stay with us at that campsite.
Down the hill theres a portajon and to get to the bathhouse it's a walk. The bathhouse is very nice and clean.
You will have to cross a creek in your vehicle to get to this stay, so be mindful about the vehicle you intend on using.
Blair made it easy to access the campground and the site. Even in the dark we were able to find our site.

Wow! The views, the peacefulness and stargazing was amazing. It’s one of those campsite when you get to it you just say “WOW!”
Jon my host was also great. He met me at the bottom of the mountain and guided me up. He was so welcoming, very friendly and gave me lots of history of the area and his property.
This was my first time camping here but I don’t think it will be the last time. I’m hoping to come back again soon.
