The site is lovely, and the host is very responsive.
However- if you are looking for a site that is remote, or at least secluded, this isn't it.
But- if you like rv camps or campgrounds with others, then you'll love this site!
I was looking for, and expecting an isolated spot. What was revealed was a location across the gravel road from the host's permanent set up. Don't really mind the situation- But I would have appreciated knowing he and his family would be "40 yards away" as he informed me after I booked. In my mind that seemed like we would both be in an isolated spot away from each other.
I don't mind the proximity necessarily, but I felt like I was in his front yard as he drove from site to his home up the road.
Not what I was looking for and the listing should have stated the situation, which would probably be no big deal for others- but not what I was looking for.

Beautiful spot with its own little lake that has some fun fishing. The landowners are lovely people, i capatalized on the farm fresh eggs and fishing spot suggestions. Fireflies and stars are out of this world. Will definitely be back for seconds 🙏

Very quiet and pretty spot. The pond seems like it would be fun for fishing and kayaking. We have a small RV, so we didn’t have to use the outhouse.

Easy access, sweet spot!

Loved camping here! It was so close to town and easy to access, especially as we’d made our decision so last minute. Super thankful! There was lots of space, clear night sky, no light pollution and soothing creek sounds at night. Ben was super communicative and even greeted us in the morning, cruising’ down the hill in his quad with fresh chicken and quail eggs letting us know we were the first of the season to join him. He ran back up to fill our jugs of water at the house and had a great chat! Way to kick off the camping season! Stay here for some peace and quiet if you can!

Great Spot Just Outside Cville

Had an excellent weekend at Ben's. Ben was super welcoming, the site was wonderful, and the add-on amenities were a boon that saved me time, effort, and space in the vehicle. We spent the nights stargazing and most of the day on the water fishing. As we packed up on our final morning we were awed by a bald eagle hunting on the water and calling out. Highly recommend.

We had a great time here! We tent camped, and added the canoe to fish. I caught 2 bluegills and 1 crappie on a rooster tail. Bass were being a bit picky. Felt a few bites on swim bait, though. The site was nice and quiet, our dog had a great time!

Great spot next to a small lake fed by a small brook/stream. Host, Ben, was very hospitable - the perfect level of interaction (a nice welcome, advice on car/tent location, lay of the land) followed by an occasional drive-by (the spot is adjacent to the drive to his house which is not seen from the campsite).

We had a wonderful stay at Ridge Crest Hollow and Lake! The site was beautiful and peaceful, and we especially enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the serene lake. Our host, Ben, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We also loved the little extras offered—like the farm fresh eggs, which were absolutely delicious. Such a perfect spot to relax and recharge—we can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful property! The pond backs up right to your campsite. I went fishing in their canoe and caught a bluegill. Campsite is open land, but has natural shade from the surrounding tall trees. I couldn’t have asked for better weather the day I went and ended the night with a campfire. 2WD accessible. Met the host and his son. Very friendly folks. I recommend this campsite and definitely see myself returning in the future. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What a great place! Thanks to the host Ben, who was very welcoming and helpful. It was nice to feel so far out in the woods by a large pond/lake yet be so close to Charlottesville. I camped here for my son's graduation from UVA, and I loved getting away from the crowds and chaos every night to this peaceful spot. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants the beauty and peacefulness of nature just outside a vibrant city and in the middle of Wine Country.

Had a great time camping on Ben’s site. He met us when we arrived and gave us the lay of the land. The site is private and quiet. An unexpected bonus is the site has full 5G access. We were able to watch wrestlemania by the fireside!
