Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views is a serene slice of heaven, conveniently located just 20 minutes off I-81, yet still peacefully rural nestled within farmland atop a hill in Luray, Virginia. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains with views all around and from our cabin rentals, our campground is close to the Luray Caverns, the famed Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, the Shenandoah River, and several Civil War sites. We offer both shady RV sites and open RV sites that can accommodate all sized RVs and trailers—we are big rig friendly! Each RV site includes a picnic table, fire ring, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and sewer. We have deluxe patio sites and deluxe tent sites too! Our campground is in the heart of all that Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley has to offer. Hiking opportunities abound as Luray is the closest town to the Thornton Gap entrance of Shenandoah National Park, and is to the Skyline Drive, taking drivers along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains! The Luray Caverns, a national historic site, with it’s famous Great Stalacpipe Organ, are just a few minutes away, and tubing, canoeing, and white-water rafting adventure can be found at the nearby Shenandoah River. Museums and Civil War sites will feed your history-loving soul! Onsite we have a brand-new camp store! We also have a large pool and small pool, a gathering yurt for groups and an event pavilion, a playground, and a jumping pillow is in the works! We have two deluxe cabins and four deluxe yurts for more ways to appreciate the great outdoors with those additional creature comforts.

Very close to Shenandoah National Park with many areas to hike, fish, camp, and kyak! An outdoorsmans retreat! Great space, easy to get to sites, bathhouse, large open Dog Park, play areas, pool is nice! Camp has a small store on site, not too far from Luray (a Walmart, auto shops, and restaurants if you need more things.) 10/10 would recommend and return if I can.

I had a wonderful stay at this campground with my dog! The campground was peaceful, well-maintained, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was the perfect place to relax, hike, and enjoy nature together. The sites were spacious, and everyone we encountered was friendly and respectful. I especially appreciated how dog-friendly the campground was—it made traveling with my pup so much easier and more enjoyable. So, my biggest complaint is that I had called after I booked a primitive site to make sure I could reserve a more secluded spot. Ended up rebooking and paying extra, which would've been fine if we'd even gotten an end site. Unfortunately, the tent sites are all VERY close together. There really isn't a secluded spot. We were sandwiched between a large family reunion and another site. When I asked, I was told the end site had paid extra to "lock in" their site. Isn't that what I asked to do? The tent sites are all pretty much on top of each other, with a few sparse trees and definitely no privacy or quiet. We couldn't set up a hammock and honestly didnt even have a tree for shade. Could hear the tent next to us snoring at night, which, ok.. except they also left their lights on so it was really bright too. There are two single person bathrooms meant for the tent campers. Each has a shower. Unfortunately some of the other campers took VERY long showers and made a bit of a mess, so we had to use the ones up the hill. Not a huge deal, but frustrating. If you like nature and secluded spots, beautiful scenery, maybe fishing- I would find another spot. All that said- the staff was lovely. There's a pool, a playground, and the bathrooms are regularly cleaned. There's even a dog park, small arcade, and well stocked store. The property is well maintained and close to Luray Caverns. All around a lovely place if you prefer creature comforts over tranquility.

This campground does have all the amenities you need, including showers and laundry. The location is good, and so are the views. However, I wouldn’t 100% recommend this site due to how unhelpful the staff is. The camp store is only open 10-4 on some days, and only from 12-3 on others. This is a problem if you arrive after 4pm and leave before 10am. We had a family emergency which necessitated that we move our trip dates so that we could get to our destination sooner. To be fair, I didn’t tell the staff this because I didn’t think I needed to. When I asked if we could switch one of our 3 nights booked to the night of April 5th, they told me (over the phone because I was never able to speak to someone in person) that I would need to contact hipcamp to change it and that they had no control over that. I could never contact hipcamp, I could only talk to an AI assistant, and had to lose the $55 that we paid for the third night. This is annoying, but it’s even more annoying after our next campsite, “100 Mile Camping” in Jim Thorpe PA, was able to switch around our booking and upgraded our spot because they had missed an email I had sent. Spacious Skies told me that because we booked through a third party, that they had no control over the booking, but “100 Mile View” was also booked through a third party and they were able to switch things around. Spacious Skies is a good spot, just not helpful if you need to change plans and don’t want to lose money.

Very sweet campground on the backdrop of a pretty farm. I loved that they had a little general store, a dog park, and very clean bathrooms! On the flip side, I was surprised to see that the bathrooms only had one toilet.. I was expecting stalls to make it easier for multiple campers to use the facility at the same time. In the mornings we all get the same idea and a line begins to form. I also was NOT prepared for the early morning wake-up call from the sheep, who were very cute, but very chatty! The external light on the bathrooms was also VERY bright, which did obscure the stars for us, which was a bit of a bummer. But the grounds were clean, there was ample parking and it was definitely a family and pet-friendly space.

This was a great stay. Clean, private, huge sites, and safe! We wanted to jump in the pool but we had such a short time at the campground. 100% recommend! We would stay a minimum of three days next time.

Yurts - King Bed
Overall it was a really nice experience. It’s a cozy environment, so if you’re looking to “get away” this may not be the place. It’s family and pet friendly. The yurt is spacious and the images are accurate (no futon in our yurt though. The description mentioned stove but there wasn’t one…it wasn’t the end of the world, we explored the town less than 15mins away. The WiFi never worked at the yurt. It worked at the office, but the connection was lost as soon as you drove off, so don’t depend on it.

Excellent space for overnight stop. Flat site. Close to shower house, with water and electric hook up for my Westy.
