A full service marina is located 1 mile away, via either water or land. Be aware that this is a working waterfront, and as such you should expect very early activity and noise as commercial fisherman head out in pursuit of their days catch. Great stay! Huge fenced yard. Great hosts. Convenient area. Safe. Surprisingly quiet for how close it is to everything. Uber pickup is easy for dinners out. Private entrance. Had a fire one evening. I was having trouble finding a campground in the area, then I remembered to check Hipcamp—and I struck gold. I found Kyle’s RV spot, located in a quiet residential neighborhood with plenty of space and great accommodations. It has a private entry and exit, and it’s conveniently close to shopping and the freeway. Kyle was extremely helpful and a great host. A+ experience—definitely check him out. I’ll absolutely be back.

Simple family friendly and family run campground with all the needed resources. We don’t use any of the resources of the full fledged resort campgrounds. But Busch Gardens is just a few miles away if that is what you want. We stayed two extra days to better explore Colonial Williamsburg and the other historical sites - our main goals for this stay.

Weekend Trip to Anvil Campground

Anvil is a smaller but very friendly campground that had everything we needed. The site was level and the hookups were easy to manage. Though we didn’t get a chance to use the bathrooms they looked really nice. It’s also close to all the attractions in Williamsburg and really enjoyed taking our dogs to walk the colonial area. We’d stay here again for sure! (Yes, there’s a train that’s really close but it didn’t put a damper on our fun)

Well I honestly didn’t stay because we had issues with our camper. I am new to camping and didn’t think I could back in with only my daughter with me. We had a terrible time getting it loaded and arrived after dark. I don’t see well. Someone had also parked their truck very close and at an angle to our spot (which was actually pretty big!) anyways I circled back around but the opening in that direction and from that angle meant I clipped their fence post. The fence tumbled down and I decided if I couldn’t drive straight, I definitely couldn’t back into the spot. So we left. The staff were really nice and they were reasonable with the repairs. Family liked the area. So once I figure out how to drive, we will come back.

This site is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. Having full hookups was nice. It was close to numerous restaurants and area attractions and about 30 minutes from the beach. It was a little tight getting into the site, even with only a 23 ft travel trailer. Just be mindful of this if you have a larger rig.

Weekend Trip to Waterfront Quiet Central Location!

We only slept here and for us the place was fine. We felt safe and the camper was secure during the day while we were away. The site is peaceful and pretty, the host is friendly. The parking is back in only, the camper door faces the fence. The sewer hookup is unaccessible when the camper is fully backed into the parking space. The fire pit and water were inviting but we did not use either.

Rene and Pete's site is actually just to the side of their house and in their backyard. The property is right on some water and it was so peaceful and quiet, even with a neighbor on the other side of the fence from my van. I have two dogs and they had free roam of the backyard without being leashed. Pete was even kind enough to send me information on dining close by. Both Rene and Pete were very courteous, very kind and willing to do anything I needed.
