My lady and I visited Pine Meadows on a gorgeous weather fall weekend in Oct. Erik's place is remote enough to not hear any cars - fulfilled our goal of peaceful solitude!
Simple instructions, and Erik was friendly and easy to communicate with.
We were able to have a super nice campfire, just chilling in the woods.
Fell asleep to the gentle chorus of crickets, woke up to beautiful bird songs. Saw some different warblers and cool uncommon butterflies.
The campsites are nestled into a huge stand of pines.
We visited the nearby preserves, Bethel Beach and New Point Comfort.
Both deserve a visit, to observe healthy natural ecosystems.
A terrific experience - we will definitely be back!

Lovely, secluded location. So many birds! Host Erik and his daughter were welcoming and accommodating. The area near Mobjack Bay is magnificent. Highly recommended.

Erik is an incredibly welcoming host and the camping site worked perfectly. The only thing to keep in mind is that the pathway to the sites can be a tight squeeze, especially if you have a large vehicle, but there are good parking options otherwise.

I absolutely loved how secluded the camp site was while still being close enough to civilization. The sites were just a short drive/walk from the house, which is only a few minutes from the local grocery store, but once we got into the pine forest you'd think we were miles from anywhere!
There were 2 other sites, a good distance away, but we were the only folks camping at the time. It was beautiful being surrounded by so many pines.
Our host was very kind and friendly. Erik gave us a bucket of water for the campfire and offered for us to use any of the wood. He also showed us the way down to the sites and was very knowledgeable about the surrounding sites.
After setting up my best friend and I went to Bethel Beach, which was only a 15 minute ride. Also another space that felt very private, giving us our own personal experience. When we got to the beach there was only 1 other car parked there and we never even saw the person.
The evening was lovely as we made a campfire and roasted some sausages listening to the choir of the woods. No problems in the middle of the night and we rested very well.
I had such a great experience, I'm already looking forward to going back.

Awesome primitive site available at the last minute on Memorial Day weekend. Very quiet, secluded, wooded spot with fire ring and picnic table. Erik was an excellent host and even carted in a porta-potty for us. My dog and I had a wonderful weekend trip here. The only thing to watch out for are the ticks, there are tons of them.
