There are romaing guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

They had to build a land bridge to get to the new home site, so they turned the bridge into a dam and created a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. My wife Stephanie and I bought the property in early 2017 and have turned it into a private horse farm, adding pastures, a riding ring, and 6-stall barn. There are ~21 horses who live on the property. The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Only sites near outhouses will be open and there will be no access to water. Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. We want to share our property with those who want to stay for more than one night, so we do not accept inquiries of single night stays.

Camp Cove Creek is located in rural Faber, Virginia which is 20 minutes from Charlottesville in beautiful Nelson County. In addition to the many natural features like the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail and the James River, Nelson is home to Wintergreen Resort and Oakridge Estate and hosts events such as the Lok'n Festival, Camp Jeep, and Overland Expo. Camp Cove Creek was part of my grandparent's Waveland Farm. Originally situated on over 600 acres, the brick antebellum house across the hill was used as a hospital in the Civil War. The camp used to be a horse and cattle farm as well as a flea market and airport with grass airstrip when my mom owned the land. Our vegetable garden was by the swimming hole. The airstrip still maintained as such in order to offer aviation-accessible camping. It is s the future home of Faber Christmas tree farm and features several notable antique vehicles rusting in peace. Some models are of the same make and model featured on TV and film. Camp Cove Creek is easily accessible via Rt 29 and Rt 6 east (Irish Road). Our property sits at the confluence of Bear and Cove Creeks where wading/hiking/tubing is permitted and encouraged (with water shoes). We are continually trying to improve the site by removing old barbed wire, poison ivy, roadside trash, and invasive plant species in addition to planting Christmas Trees, raising 3 kids, and working 2 full time jobs so please forgive our works in progress! This is your 30-acre camping playground! Licensed off-road vehicles, ADV and Dual-sport motorcycles, horses, personal electric vehicles and EVEN PRIVATE PLANES are welcomed! Camp anywhere along it or the creeks bordering it. We encourage walking the route first as it has intentionally been left primitive to provide more of an authentic and fun getaway adventure. Overlanding does tend to scratch paint so enter at your own risk! There is a Volleyball Net and Horseshoe set for use as well. Nearby in the soapstone mining town of Schuyler you can visit the home place of Earl Hamner, best known for his creation of The Waltons TV show. While you're there check out the Waltons Mountain Museum, which happens to be my old elementary school and my parent's former high school. The Rockfish River dam and quarry gardens are really cool too!

Set up a tent, car camp, or bring your small trailer to one of two sites on a unique property backed up to 20+ acres of woods. Imagine a hidden gem where you can relax to the sounds of rushing water and chirping birds, but can walk or bike to coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, parks or the river. If you are coming into Richmond for a Brown's Island event we are a five minute Uber to an access point using the Potterfield walking bridge (it's a beautiful walk across the James River to the island). Each campsite includes 3 level spots to pitch tents (see dimensions below), and a connected space to park one car, van or small trailer. The large parking space can be used as a fourth tent footprint if needed. There are additional parking spaces. Each site has a fire pit (with firewood on site), a grate to grill over the fire, a picnic table, and a hammock. This cabin was absolutely lovely. I cannot recommend it enough! The wood burning stove kept us cozy on chilly nights, and we got great sleep in the loft. The farm pup is adorable!! The kitchen was fabulous and had everything we needed. This was the perfect place to spend a birthday get-away. There were a few wasps and one did find its way into a sleeping bag, but that comes with being outdoors. The town nearby is lovely and the largest antique warehouse in the country is just down the road! Plus proximity to lots of hiking. We can’t wait to come back!

This is the perfect combo of spacious camping spots, easy access from the highway, and just enough amenities to make this a truly enjoyable experience. Combo lock access behind a gate means late arrivals can just cruise right in and feel nice and private once you’re set up. The bathroom facilities are a great touch to level up what would otherwise be primitive camping. Jen was responsive and accommodating.

The place is amazing! Me my wife and our fur baby loved everything about the place. It has a rustic vibe surrounded by farm animals and wild life! The only thing I would have changed was we didn’t stay long enough! The fresh eggs were amazing to have for breakfast, wish I would have got more than just a dozen. And Rodney, the host was such great guy. You have your own little private spot to just sit back and enjoy. We will definitely be coming back in the short future to see the horses, goats, and other animals again.

Stargazer tiny cabin at the Guinea Farm was perfect for me and my pup. Ian was the perfect host and made us feel so welcome. Meeting the chickens and guineas was a lot of fun and the beach nearby was breathtaking. We explored the area, had a few campfires, and relaxed. Even the rainstorm was amazing while inside Stargazer!!! The cabin was super cool. We will be returning! Just a quick note that did not detract from the experience at all - we did encounter some hunting dogs loose at the beach hunting a deer. Its obviously hunting season and off the location, just good to note. We loved our trip here and valued meeting Ian and learning about his much loved birds, clearly living in paradise. Definitely worth a visit! The cabin itself was extremely clean and well stocked. The property was fun to explore, even has corn hole and axe throwing!

I’m a returning camper. Last time I went to Trilogy. Love this whole property. 2WD accessible. I was greeted by the host Ian who promptly brought me a huge pile of firewood. Campsite has a nice picnic table and nice fire ring with swivel cooking grate. The treehouse features a deck with a tent for anyone who needs it. The treehouse also has a griddle and grill running off a propane tank. Inside the treehouse has bar stools and a bar top dining area. It also has L-shaped benches on the back wall and a foldable table. There is a projector with Roku stick for streaming off of their WiFi. Also for fun there is a Nintendo 64 with 3 games including Mario Kart 64. All electrical components run off a battery powered by solar. There are USB-A ports in various area for your convenience. Additionally there are cots and camping chairs provided. I had a great time and felt very safe on the site. I really got to relive some childhood memories sleeping in a treehouse and playing video games. I highly recommend. If sleeping in the provided tent isn’t your thing or you have brought your own, there are countless areas surrounding the treehouse and an adjacent field with ample room 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
