Stoney Creek Campground

We had such a good time! The creek right next to the campsite was such a highlight and as biology students we saw so much cool wildlife! (And multiple pets that really made our stay special) it was super hot (as summer camping tends to be) but between cooling down in the creek and getting a little break in the air conditioned bathroom we were still able to really enjoy ourselves. You could hear cars for. The nearby road but it wasn’t super busy, made for a great get away!

Had a great time at site #9. The bathhouse was clean and honestly luxurious by campground standards. The sites are closer together than expected. You can't see each other, but you can hear everything. The host was super nice. His super friendly cat, Nugget, made several visits to our camp while we were there. Will definitely stay again

Relaxing weekend

First time staying at Stoney Creek. Entering the property was a little questionable but we quickly saw signs that directed us to our site. We never met the owner but assume he was available on site if needed. The resident camp kitty did pay us a visit the last night we were there. Sites were placed a good distance apart, bathroom was clean and well stocked. There was a nice walking path around the property for a little exercise if you wanted. This is definitely a camp we will be returning to soon.

A perfect slice of seclusion. The creek provides a natural soundtrack that puts you right to sleep, and the dark skies are a dream for stargazing. I loved that it felt completely private yet had a store nearby for essentials, all while being just 15 minutes from incredible hiking trails. Truly a great find! And a bathroom with showet

Great little spot by the creek

Nice corner spot next to the creek. Loved the swing seat. Finding the spot was easy. Really appreciated the shower!! The area for your tent is covered in wood chips, which we appreciated because it poured rain overnight, but they were very hard to get purchase for the stakes in and also were more like a pile of sticks than actual wood chips (very pokey). If you have a delicate tent or a thinner sleeping pad I would try the spot next to this one instead, which has more pine needles and softer ground. One of the cats that lives at the house decided we were her buddies for the night and came to hang at our fire which was lovely. :)

Site #10 was well suited for our 21’ trailer camper, (18’ box, 3’ tongue). It has a nice flat gravel pad and wood platform. The spot is next to Stoney Creek and an active pool. The sounds of gurgling water and croaking frogs were pleasant. In mid-May there are lots of butterflies and no mosquitoes. The night skies are quite dark. We were about 15 drive minutes from the BlueRidge parkway and Food Lion grocery store. 20-25 minutes drive will get you to excellent hikes. The Host WiFi is adequate.

Responsive, Safe, and Affordable

Chris was very helpful and responsive. The campsite wasn't too far outside of Bedford and I felt safe there. The stay was affordable and a free washer and dryer which was a plus. There is a cute chicken and kitty that run around the campground and will welcome you.

Camped out of our van with our two hound dogs. We all enjoyed our time at Stoney creek. Campsite 10 allowed us to have neighbors on one side and a toad filled pond on the other, with direct access to the trails. The creekside trail leads you to a few different spots to fish. There is also a trail wrapping around the property worth wandering. Campground is well taken care of, we will be back.

Streamside number 10 Campspot

Having Hipcamp as an app, but never using it I had a pleasant experience here at Stoney Creek. This was a great spot for us as two people in a small campsite in campground. I like that it’s a small facility and there’s even a store right across the street. If you need anything, Chris is very responses and we had a great relaxing weekend will come back for sure.

Lovely Creekside Tent Camping Spot

We loved tent camping at Chris's site #9! We were less than 10 minutes from the Peaks of Otter trailheads, with awesome views. The babbling stream makes for great background noise and the wood chips make a pretty soft space to pitch your tent (the other spots are gravel). You can keep your vehicle right next to you, which is quite convenient. There's a rope chair, fire pit, and picnic table. The potable water spigot is a few hundred feet away, near the bathrooms. Bathroom amd shower did the trick, nothing fancy. Just one bathroom with a single person shower in the same room. Bring your own hand towel.

It was a quiet weekend. Our campsite along the creek was tranquil. It is located only a few minutes from many local sites and hikes. There were short trails along Chris's land that are well marked and groomed. Beautiful view of the mountain from our camp site.

Good spot about a half hour or so from Lynchburg and a little more from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stream is just noisy enough to lull you to sleep without being too much.

We camped out via tent here for a few days with our pup. Chris has a beautiful property and it was extremely clean and peaceful . The site itself was a nice size and he even had a hammock there already ! There is a clean hot water shower and bathroom close to the sites too. The view was breathtaking and it was perfect for the sunrise/sunset lovers like my husband and I 😍

The bathrooms were clean, the site was level and peaceful. Chris runs a Nice operation in an area where you'll find Absolutely beautiful countryside along your journey. Heading north or south? You can avoid the Highways and hit the backroads around the cities at no extra time! We stayed one night.

Rustic Haven by Stoney Creek

Extremely close to hiking. The creek behind the site was idyllic. I camped in site 4 in the late winter so no leaves on trees. During this time, there was ample sun (on sunny days) so I could get a good charge on my jackery for power. The land and the campsite were great. Shower water pressure was minimal, but the shower was warm. The only recommendation I would have would be to get a load of gravel in the site for parking the camper so it’s not quite as muddy. All in all, solid 4.5 stars of 5.

Peaceful creekside camping

This is such an amazing spot to relax and camp at. Each site is spaced out nicely. Level gravel parking which is great if you’re in a camper van like we use. So nice to have a heated bathhouse when it’s freezing out too. I’d love to come back in the warmer months to see everything filled in.

This was an amazing little spot to camp! The water flowing right beside the campsite and the view of sharp top were absolutely stunning! It was nice to be able to order a bundle of wood at the site ready for our arrival. The bathroom was very clean and had a shower as well as washer and dryer. Chris was very quick to respond to questions. 10/10 highly recommended and will visit again!
