HELLo ! . Autumn has arrived if you want to stay send a note and check...it's wonderful in the Shenandoah valley. We're a Small Private campsite 4 sites on several acres. but rarely more than one is occupied at any time Near some large campsites in a popular recreation area. We added flowers, small fruit trees, raspberries, and native herbs and edibles. We do have lots of dragonflies during season NEW. Tent and biker rain refuge IF you are in a tent or on a motorcycle and it RAINS I can offer dry shelter in my workshop building concrete floor. Lights and room to put up a tent or use the cot park the bike under a roof I don’t have a checkout time DIRECTIONS.. GPS 1413 cold springs road Stuart’s draft VA several ways depends where you’re coming from. exits. on 81 213, 217 from those it's about 6 or 7 miles. Route 64. exit 94 / route 340 .. we are 10 miles from that welcome to our charming location Near Waynesboro. a rural area, near a town, on a lovely scenic road with no street or stop lights. Near Blue Ridge hills, Appalachian trail, Sherando Lake, other. camp grounds, South River, many streams and some national forest. We once had a large group of permaculture students that was very satisfied. We are developing in 2025 Lots of open here so campfires are ok. We have space for a motorhome to 24 feet with electric, and space for small RVs, tent, or trailer One place is great for a hammock between trees. If you have a group, room for a dozen small tent sites so contact us. We can work something out. Land is mostly level in a lovely recreational area. We're fond of the musically inclined. So bring your instruments. we love nature enthusiasts, homesteaders, bushwhackers, bicyclists, bikers, scooter fans, road trippers...Come practice your camping or homesteading skills. Lot of trails nearby. Plenty of space to run and play. Pets welcome. They do not need to be on a leash, but they could run into the woods. There is a full bathoom in the house available to guests, and an outhouse if needed. private, warm, friendly environment. gas and groceries only a few miles away. Clean well water. Firewood is sometimes available, we are near wooded area. Owner is a Realtor, specializing in rural property.

The host, Paul, was friendly and came out to meet us upon our arrival. His property allows plenty of space to roam, and the back of the property backs up to the forest. The fireflies were magical!

this was a lovely little spot! my only note to campers would be to copy the address from the listing and paste it into your GPS instead of using the “get directions” button within the hipcamp app; it took us to the wrong spot almost an hour away, but luckily still on our route. once we got to the listed location it was a lovely place though, and the host is very friendly!

Paul’s place was a great spot to spend a quiet weekend with my dog. She loved being able to run around his yard! Very hospitable. Easy access to water and electricity. Back part of the property was very wooded and peaceful.

This is a nice place to get to really close to the park close to the city. It’s nice and excluded at the same time. I was the only person I met the owner and had a chat with him. Definitely recommend this little spot. I would be back for sure.

We loved this peaceful spot, and Paul, our host, was friendly and very helpful. Our dogs enjoyed the big open area for walking, and the wood thrushes sang out the day each afternoon/evening. We definitely recommend Dragonfly Homestead!

I enjoyed a tranquil spring camp at Paul’s place in Virginia. He kindly greeted me and showed me the site. The corner patches were private and spacious with flat ground to setup a large tent. Access with car all the way in. Thankful for his warm hospitality

Super nice guy with a big hunk of land that’s nicely mowed and perfect for HipCamping. It was peaceful and comfortable. We had electricity and there was an outhouse for our use.

Paul was very helpful when I arrived and I had a nice chat with him. His farm is very quiet, except for all the lovely birds singing in the forest that is on three sides of his land. Big prairie that he keeps mowed. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to come again if I am in the area.

Privacy, yet convenient.

Paul's place is perfect tent or rv camping if you need no or few amenities. The ground is flat allowing for easy driving access for any size rig. We stayed in the back corner in our Scamp 13 and had plenty of privacy. The location is only minutes from the Food Lion in Stuarts Draft and just a short drive to nearly unlimited amenities in Waynesboro. If you are considering a move to the area, a plus is that Paul is a Realtor with a focus on helping buyers find rural property. He has a real interest in permaculture and small homesteading/hobby farm type properties and he knows the area.

The site was great, late arrival and all we did was pull in and set up. Paul was a great host even if we never actually met him. I would suggest Paul's place!

Host had contacted us through the app to let us know he would not be available the dates of our stay but that his son was on site and would help us hook up to electric and show us where the guest bathroom was. That didn't happen. We parked near the pole barn and after digging around in the pole barn I located an extension cord and the breaker box. After hooking up we were sitting outside when my wife noticed someone on a bicycle riding over to another building across the field. I wrote the host through the app to let him know we had arrived and got settled on our own but would like someone to show us the guest bathroom. We let him know we were going into town for gas and to get something to eat but gave him our phone number where we could be contacted. As we were leaving we saw the bicyclist on the main road who waved at us as we passed. After we got back we saw the bicyclist approaching again and waved him over. It turns out this was the hosts son who described where the guest bath in the house was located. I think had we not waved him over he would not have introduced himself and we never received a reply from the host even as I write this. The property was fine and we had the place to ourselves as the host had told us he had no other campers that weekend. This was our first ever experience with Hip Camp and it was just o.k. nothing special about this experience.

Highly recommend! Paul greeted us warmly upon arrival. He has a large, well maintained piece of land that is beautiful and adjacent to woods. As we were parking our little camper his son came by and gave us fresh peas from his garden. We stayed 2 nights and it was so quiet and peaceful. Paul’s land is flat and easily accessible from a main road. Groceries and fast food are about 10 min away, but it felt like we were further away. We felt safe and had fun relaxing at night after attending a music festival. Thank you for being such a great host, Paul!

Paul was a great host. It started to pour with rain just as I was arriving so he let me ride my motorcycle into his woodworking barn to stay dry. Because the rain was predicted to continue overnight Paul let me set up my tent in the barn. It looks like I picked the right campsite for this particular night on my trip. It all added to the sense of adventure.

Paul is a very gracious host and and stays in contact using Hipcamp text messages. The property is located near the South end of the Shenandoah National Park and is relatively quiet. We would recommend this location.
