Very nice spot. Very nice people. Clean bathrooms and shower. Very accommodating. The site had power and water. Beautiful area. Unfortunately it rained most of my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

1 night at Lakefront!! Kayaks Available.

I can't wait to go back to this site, absolutely beautiful. Charles was welcoming and friendly. I lucked out with being the only person at the site so was able to explore and discover the magic of the lake and surrounding paths. Looking forward to spending more time here in the future when it's isn't overcast and raining.

Weekend Trip to The Oysterhouse Landing

The best endorsement I can give is that this was a return trip. We fell in love with this place on our first visit and couldn't wait to book another! The first trip we used the camp more as a base, this time we spent more time on site and it was amazing. For a more detailed review you can check out my first one. We can't wait to book our next trip!

Beautiful lakefront and pond view. The host was very hospitable and welcoming. The weather was not great it was very rainy. However, I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Swedish Lilac Campground & Events

We absolutely loved our stay at this campground. It was well marked on Google maps and easy to find once we put the address in for the camp. Parking was extremely easy for our electric bus and we were able to charge it overnight as we camped. The campground space was big enough to fit our electric bus and three small tents and a tailgate tent. The ability to use the fire ring and picnic table was a bonus along with wood that was provided by the hosts. We absolutely enjoyed going down to the river nearby. The camp was extremely clean and well put together. I have never ever seen a restroom and showers as clean as the one in this campground.

Very easy access and nice clean grass. Better spot for families with younger kids or you just don't wanna go out deep into the nature part. Lots of room. Perfect fishing spot. We pulled lots of big bass near here and the small pond. Charles is cool as can be!

AHHHHHH—MAZING!!!!!!!!!! We found this site while we were looking for a place to break up our trip from SC to WV…relax a little and enjoy our trip without hurrying. Absolutely perfect! Huge advice! Bring chairs and spend time just chilling in the river before grilling at one of the prettiest areas we have found! Big plus…..the train is absolutely awesome! The hosts are incredible! Firewood was waiting on us protected from the potential rain. We dodged the afternoon rain and spent a wonderful night by the fire looking at stars and waiting for the night train! The train is so cool! Very very helpful! There is absolutely no way that you would be disappointed with this amazing little place to spend a night….or SEVERAL! Just beautiful…private….quiet…everything you need! Love! And we will be back!

I absolutely loved this site. Well manicured. Clean and nice shower house. The rushing of the river will lull you to sleep. It’s the first campsite that I’ve been to that has business class fiber WiFi. Speed test showed 200gb down and 200gb up. Teams calls were no issue. The owners are very responsive to your questions. They take the time to check on you to see if you need anything. I will be making this place a regular visit. This is a must stop for a peaceful and beautiful location to relax.

Nice quiet pretty campground with utility hookups for RVs. Well spaced sites both open or with trees surrounding, next to a small river. Free firewood! Wifi access at your site! Was towing a 17' trailer, the site I took I could swing around the open grass as if a pull through, very easy to get set up, and site was level. Owners were helpful and accommodating, clean bathrooms and showers, fairly close to town and local restaurants. Some other campers had families and their kids could feed and pet owner's baby goats. Overall great stop on the way up Rt 81.

We loved our tent camping experience at Swedish! Valerie and Fritz were incredibly kind and welcoming. The kids had a great time and especially enjoyed getting to feed the baby goat—it was a highlight for them. The bathrooms and washrooms were spotless and well-maintained. Overall, it was a wonderful stay for the whole family.

1 night at City Camp on Reedy Creek

This is a beautiful camp spot close to home. There is a ton of shade, and a creek, hiking trail and park are steps from the site. Site W is pretty private. It had space for at least 2 tents, a picnic table, chairs and a firepit. There was even a hammock set up for lounging. The firewood was definitely a bonus! This was everything we needed for our quick getaway, and I can't wait to go back again!

101 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by various roads/trails throughout. Over the years cutting roads has been a hobby that has resulted in miles of cleared roads and paths throughout the property that are perfect for hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a small creek, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature with no one else around. Each of the 3 sites is hundreds of yards away from each other. Things to watch out for other than the wildlife mentioned above the two main concerns in this part of Virginia are deer ticks and poison ivy. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. Also, check out the Draper Mountain overlook on Rt 11, just 10 minutes from our HipCamp. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, big foot siting's as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

The roadfront side of our property offers level terrain for pull-behind trailers, while vehicles (preferably 4WD) and tent campers can travel all the way back to the creek. Feeling froggy? Ford the stream and camp in the large field on the other side. Be sure to mind the animals and fields, as this is a working farm. One mile down the road from the farm is the Virginia Creeper Trail, renowned for biking, but as a multi-use trail, you can also enjoy walking, running, horseback riding, fishing, cross country skiing, and geocaching. South Holston Lake is only minutes away by vehicle, with two public access boating ramps 10 to 20 minutes away. For a drink by the water, head to Abingdon Vineyards- only 10 minutes away. Access to the Appalachian Trail is only 20 minutes away in Damascus. We became caretakers of this lovely property in June of 2021, moving from our existing farm, 45 minutes away. Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. We want to share our property with those who want to stay for more than one night, so we do not accept inquiries of single night stays.
