Be aware that this is a working waterfront, and as such you should expect very early activity and noise as commercial fisherman head out in pursuit of their days catch. Situated in an area of coastal salt marsh which can become "buggy" when the wind is still. Have insect repellent available. Host is a seasoned camper and regularly boondocks in a camper van.

Great stay! Huge fenced yard. Great hosts. Convenient area. Safe. Surprisingly quiet for how close it is to everything. Uber pickup is easy for dinners out. Private entrance. Had a fire one evening. Will definitely stay here again when in the area bc it’s very convenient to the Navy base for training.

Perfect hub spot for an Outerbanks vacation. In the middle of all the major sites which made it easy to fit them all in to our week stay. The site is sandy and our two wheel drive struggled to pull our camper up on leveling blocks. Claudine's husband hooked up his four wheel drive and saved the day. That is above and beyond service! The site is in a quiet canal neighborhood and felt safe. Walked a short way down the street to enjoy the sunrise on several days. The bird activity is great, too.

I was having trouble finding a campground in the area, then I remembered to check Hipcamp—and I struck gold. I found Kyle’s RV spot, located in a quiet residential neighborhood with plenty of space and great accommodations. It has a private entry and exit, and it’s conveniently close to shopping and the freeway. Kyle was extremely helpful and a great host. A+ experience—definitely check him out. I’ll absolutely be back.

Claudine and her husband were very accommodating. The camp site was perfect for me and my pup. I was there during a big snow storm so I couldn’t enjoy the proximity of the beach so much but i bet it’s really cool in the summer. I would definitely stay here again next time im going to OBX.

But Busch Gardens is just a few miles away if that is what you want. We stayed two extra days to better explore Colonial Williamsburg and the other historical sites - our main goals for this stay.

We loved staying with Claudine at Captains Corner previously so when she posted Sea Horse we knew we had to book it! The lot is grassy and flat. Waterfront on a canal on one side and waterview of the Currituck Sound on the other. Good sized lot. So lots of room for those canopys, cornhole, etc. Husband enjoyed throwing the pole in the canal. He did catch a crab. We will definitely be back! Claudine is an amazing host. She is very accommodating and ALWAYS quick to reply. She is the reason I prefer hipcamp over campgrounds now.

Weekend Trip to Anvil Campground

Anvil is a smaller but very friendly campground that had everything we needed. The site was level and the hookups were easy to manage. Though we didn’t get a chance to use the bathrooms they looked really nice. It’s also close to all the attractions in Williamsburg and really enjoyed taking our dogs to walk the colonial area. We’d stay here again for sure! (Yes, there’s a train that’s really close but it didn’t put a damper on our fun)
