Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers.
Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Early and late check-out available on tent/rv sites, free of charge. Just message me if you need an earlier check in! Free firewood! We are 30 minutes to the main gate of Yosemite National Park. A great place to stay just outside of the park. Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! Explore the mines and hang out on our Groveland, California ranch!
We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite.
We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite.
There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour.
We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport.
When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful!
This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds.
Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite.
A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. We're not far from Wards Ferry Road, Groveland, Lake Don Pedro and other interesting places.

The River Electric is a camp resort and swim club featuring 40 furnished tents, two pools, a full-service restaurant and cocktail bar, and multiple event spaces. It’s available for daytime visits, overnights, and full event buy outs.
The River Electric is not a traditional campground - we do not allow guests to bring in stoves or outside food. We have a full bar and restaurant, communal fire pit and well-stocked camp store.
Our tented rooms have both king and double bed options with luxury bedding, lounge furnishings, and all the amenities of a boutique hotel. A centrally located bathhouse offers a variety of facilities including indoor and outdoor showers, single stall restrooms, and a dedicated area for getting ready.
Please note our tents share one main pathway and noise travels easily. We do not recommend overnights for families with children who do not sleep through the night or have difficulty adhering to quiet hours as this is disruptive for other guests. Similarly if you are looking for a silent retreat and require an early bedtime we may not be the right fit.
Quiet hours in the campground are 10pm-7am.
The River Electric offers two unique pool areas – the Main Pool, which is a 60-foot round pool at the heart of the property, and The Little Dipper Pool, our smaller rectangular pool that is available for private rental, and serves as our adult-only swimming area. Both pools are located at the center of the property, with easy access to The Pool Bar, restrooms and other amenities.
Access to the facilities begins at 4pm on the day of arrival and continues till the pool closes on your day of departure (6 pm or later depending on the day of the week).
The River Electric is nestled in the woods and walking distance from downtown Guerneville, a hidden gem in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, where towering redwoods meet riverfront charm. From kayaking and wine tasting to quirky shops, lively bars, and award-winning dining, it’s the perfect spot for adventure and relaxation.

There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you.
We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe!
In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”. Ask us about the story!

Welcome to the Amaya Creek Redwood Campground!
We are deep in the Santa Cruz mountains and it’s rustic so be prepared! The road is all paved but it can be narrow, bumpy and steep in some areas. Be sure to follow our directions! The campground is hilly to walk around.
The cell phone reception is decent for all major carriers up at the entrance gate area but down in the campground really depends on the carrier, Verizon and AT&T are weak or even no signal down at the campground, T-Mobile and Comcast Mobile are better down there. If your phone doesn't work in the campground and you need to reach the host, go up to the entrance gate area, or ask other campers whose phone work down there to help.
We do not have a trash service for the campground, we require all campers to PACK OUT THEIR TRASH!
No wood burning fire is allowed all year around. Propane firepit is ok.
Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 FREE hot water shower, utility shed with sink and hot water, and an outdoor amphitheater. The kitchen and washer/dryer is Staff Only not for campers. .
We have 40 acres of redwood forest and two creeks running through including the Amaya Creek which serves the boundary of our property at the end of Amayak Creek Trail. There’s also a small waterfall off the Amaya Creek Trail, but it may dry out during the summer. Enjoy hiking, creeks and small waterfall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more.
Most campsites allow 4-6 guests maximum with 1 car included in the nightly rate. Each additional vehicle is $15 per day and will be added at checkout once you add the correct number of vehicles you will be bringing.
Pets are $10 per day, 1 pet per group ONLY. Please add this as an extra at the time of booking, you will see the option to add extras once you begin the checkout process. Dogs must be on leash at all times!
Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. No drugs of any kind including marijuana allowed. No loud music allowed. This is a private property so no visitors are allowed, only paid guests. Our onsite staff will go around and enforce the rules.

We are a small privately owned campground ( on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM
We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.
We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses,
For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings).
The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing.
We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area.
We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site.
No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore.
We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation.
We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes.
We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

Weekend Trip to Red Tail Ranch at Yosemite
I absolutely loved my time at Red Tail Ranch. The different camping options made this venue a perfect gathering place for my group of RV campers, vanlifers, tent and car campers, and one very overwhelmed me who just started a new role and needed a no-lift hotel-style option. Enter the Barn Room and its sweetest little suite across the “hall”. We’d had this weekend on the calendar long before I landed in my new role, but I thought in recent weeks that getting away this weekend would be impossible. The Barn Room setup made it possible for me to not bail, come with the group, and have a truly restful experience (besides the 10+ mile climb in nearby Yosemite!). Shoutout Robb and the most patient cleaning staff, whose name I have forgotten. We appreciate y’all and can’t wait to come back!

Booking and staying here was an awesome experience from start to finish. Communication was fast and clear, and the cabin/renovated barn was immaculately clean and welcoming, a true retreat in every sense of the word.
There’s something special about this property that’s hard to put into words. You can feel it’s sacred ground, and the atmosphere reflects the care and intention Nate and his family have poured into creating this space.
We’re already planning our next trip up from San Diego, and trust us, it’s well worth the drive!

Absolutely loved every minute of it. The owners are as friendly as they come and their property is a dream to stay on. The cabin was very comfortable and the bathrooms were well maintained and convenient. The sound of flowing river and numerous birds was so pleasant and relaxing. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a quick getaway.

Weekend Trip to Mill Creek Resort
Our stay at the Resort’s RV space was one of the best experiences I’ve had through Hipcamp so far! The RV was well maintained and stocked with pillows and blankets, and with PG&E’s scheduled power outage, I felt that it was a nice touch that they included lanterns and games to pass the time. I would definitely come back here again if my travels take me through here.

The sunset cabin was so cute, clean, and cozy! All the amenities were awesome, and perfect distance from Mendocino to still give you the middle of the Forrest feeling. Nathan was a great host, would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Baby Banana Slug Farm
We had such a great stay in the Mushroom Cabin! We loved having our own private kitchen and dining area, and couldn’t get over how many banana slugs we’d find in the mornings and evenings!! It was truly a peaceful and relaxing stay. The communal area was also super cute. I really enjoyed my hot showers and the heater inside of the cabin. The nights got pretty cold so the heater was essential.
We did a lot of exploring during the days. Fort Bragg and Mendocino were quick rides up the coast. We’d recommend staying in one of Nathan’s cabins and would love to return if we’re in the area again!

We absolutely loved our stay! The property is stunning, and the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We stayed at Walt’s tent camp, which was clean and ready for us upon arrival. Plus, having a pile of firewood waiting for us was a wonderful! We’d definitely choose to stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Camp 🏕 Gold Dust Vineyard
We had the best time here for an overnight bachelorette camping party! The owner was so kind and accommodating and worked with our larger group to make everything easy for us. We glamped on the property and did both the wine tasting and wine blending class, which everyone loved and had so much fun doing.
The wine was delicious, and the vineyard was absolutely beautiful. We loved getting to tour the property and take in all the scenery. We felt so welcomed the entire time and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We couldn’t recommend this vineyard and experience enough!

Awesome experience! Vicki is a very kind host and very approachable. Leigitimately wants her guests to have a good time. Serenity ranch is high rewards to cost ratio for the San Diego native albeit a bit of an offroad experience getting there. I personally loved it but if you got a compact car, getting into the ranch may take you a bit longer. This place is also super dog friendly which we appreciate bringing our hunting dog there. Highly reccomend!

Weekend Trip to Diamond Gulch
Great experience staying two nights at Diamond Gulch. The glamping site is fully set-up with everything one might need from a camping experience.
The site is located on top a hill surrounded by beautiful landscapes and grazing cows (brace yourself for the early morning wake up moos). You can connect with John before you come-in for any queries - the site is usually setup with firewood as well. There's a private toilet and a communal shower nearby that gets warm water.
I'd definitely recommend this site, and considering visiting again myself soon.

Greg was super welcoming and made us feel right at home! There are a couple of campsites near by but we lucked out and had the space to ourselves. Very family friendly, our one year old had a blast and we will definitely be coming back k here again!
