There are two choices of sites to camp: At Site 1 you can park an RV or pitch a tent where you have access to a picnic table, fire pit, vault toilet, and amazing sunset views. At Site 2 you can pitch a tent and have access to a picnic table, fire pit, rocking chairs, and a hammock.
Bring your hiking boots or your off-road toys and explore 160 acres of secluded forest filled with wildflowers, butterflies, ancient Pines and Cedars, wild berries, and wild game. Spend the day relaxing, picnicking, and try your luck at gold panning on pristine Slab Creek where not a single human or road exists for miles. Bring your paddle boards and kayaks and spend an afternoon at Stumpy Meadows, a beautiful mountain reservoir a 25 minute drive from the property. Apple Hill wineries and farms are a 40 minute drive. If you bring the off-road toys you also have access to miles of trails throughout hundreds of acres of national forest. Don’t feel like cooking? Smoke on the Water restaurant at Finnon reservoir in Swansboro is a quick 20 minute drive from the property. If you need supplies, a nice restaurant, or a day of wine tasting to break up the grit, downtown Placerville and Georgetown are both a 45 minute scenic drive.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) To get the most out of your experience, we highly recommend a 4WD or vehicle, ATVs or eBikes.
2) The creek is at the bottom of the canyon, 1.5 miles from the gate at the entrance, and the road down is very steep and lined with blackberry bushes. We highly recommend an off-road vehicle/ATV or eBikes for easier access to creek.
3) Be aware you are in the middle of the forest and wildlife such as bear, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, and tics have been spotted on the property. Poison Oak is also common.
4) The property has cell service in the upper quadrant, however once you drop below the tree line toward the creek there is no service.
5) We highly recommend bringing a chainsaw or hatchet. There is an abundance of dead wood on the property that can be gathered for camp fires. Trees also occasionally fall on the trail which can impede access to the creek.

At the second stop light, Spring St./Hwy 49, turn left, heading north about 1 block to the stop sign. Turn left, staying on Hwy 49, approximately 1 mile.
Turn right on Hwy 193. Travel approximately 3.1 miles to Rock Creek Road.
Turn onto Rock Creek Road and travel 8.9 miles to Finnon Lake/Diner on the Left. The campground is behind the Diner.

Make a right on HWY 49 traveling north. Follow the above instructions.
Welcome to Finnon Lake Recreation Area!
The night skies above Finnon Lake will reveal stars unseen in California. Enjoy searching for bullfrogs, and watch the flock of Canadian Geese fly in right at sunset as the horizon blends into the watercolor sky.
This private lake supports the Mosquito Fire Protection District's fire protection efforts and the firefighters of this community. Community volunteers manage the lake for the residents and the Fire Station.
The primary funding source for the Finnon Lake Restoration is the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, which was signed into law in 2004 with a mission to support “efforts that improve the environmental, economic and social well-being of the Sierra Nevada Region, its communities and the residents of California,” according to its Website. Finnon Lake is also home to a popular 27-hole disc golf course and Mosquito’s only restaurant, Smoke on the Water Diner, which is open on weekends only. 530-622-1060.
During your stay, you can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, paddling, hiking, or biking. Sites are from post to post.

Tent sites are next to the pear orchard. Choose any site. There is no need to meet with the host when you arrive. Follow the red arrows. Do not proceed the home located at 1071 Fruitridge. Look for the Hipcamp sign and red arrow markers and turn left into the orchard lane. Check in is 4pm. You need to check in by 7pm during the summer. Or pay the Flex fee.
Use google maps and locate 1071 Fruitridge Rd in Placerville, CA.
When you get to 1071, which is a house on the right side of the paved driveway, look for our Hipcamp sign in red, turn hard right into the orchard and follow the red arrows past a wood barn, and up to a small red shed. At this point you may camp in the meadow next to the shed or you may proceed to the next meadow over to the left (follow red arrows and look for umbrellas). We normally only have one site occupied per evening. Ocaisonally two sites will be occupied. The sites are very private and quiet as this is a large, private ranch.
You can park close to your tent site. 2WD / 4WD access weather permitting.
We offer 3 sites in a large meadow area. Max of 4 persons per site.
RV's welcome but we do not have hookups. RV's will be parked next to our barns surrounded by pear orchards.
Fresh drinking water is available in the tent meadow area.
Hot showers are now available at $10 extra per nite per site (two people).
Late check in after 6pm, $10 flex fee.
A gas BBQ is now available at a common area. Please don't move the BBQ.
Deer, wild turkeys, geese aplenty. Ample walking opportunities on our ranch and wild forestlands and amazing granite rock outcrops. Visit the South Fork of the American River (you can raft in summer!) Hunt for old gold mines on our place and, maybe, find some new ones! Go wine tasting very close by (Lava Cap, Madrone, Boeger) and visit Sutter's Mill in Coloma, where gold was discovered back in 1848.
If you arrive late check in at night, scope out the area with a flashlight first and know how you will drive down thru the orchard to the campsite area in the meadow. People have gotten stuck at night turning the wrong way, especially in the wet season. Follow the red arrows to the campsite area. Stay on the pavement until you know where you are driving!

Our place offers a fully operational commercial style communal outdoor kitchen, a small stage, huge redwood, slab dining table, and 14 acres of camping area.
It also offers a beautiful 8 foot stock tank hot tub with the freshest clean snowpack water. So clean that it shares an aquifer with Crystal Geyser bottled water.

Tiny home nestled in Tahoe National forest . This little gem is on an acre of land surrounded by national forest land. Close enough to Lake Tahoe but away from the chaos.
Host lives on property with 4 year old German shepherd. I typically leave for the weekend, however i will probably be there if booking during the week (Ill be gone most of the day though) . There are 4 neighbors but their properties are not visible, feels very private. Please be respectful of the neighbors property, they all have cameras :)
The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend.
Tiny house:
•Full sized futon downstairs, no bedding provided please bring your own if planning on using the futon.
• King sized mattress in loft. Bedding provided but please try to bring your own!!
• board games , cards, chess, fire pit, projector for movies if requested!!!
• Hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, kitchen appliances, coffee . Black stone grill outside. Fire pit

Additional guests are welcome to pitch a tent on the land if needed.
***Lake Spaulding is closed the rest of 2026 to the public!! ***No driving access however...the lake is a 1/4 mile hike down from the property. (bring good walking shoes) They are working on the lake so just be respectful and keep to yourself, go wherever they aren't working.

We are a small privately owned campground ( on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home. We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) . We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites. We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM
We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe. We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families. We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.
We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table. The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection. We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones. We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys. We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails. We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers! We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses,
For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing set . We have hiking trails throughout the property. Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings).
The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes. As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing.
We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property. We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use. There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area.
We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site.
No internet service. There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore.
We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation.
We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments. Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes.
We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc. We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap. We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice. We take venmo or cash.

There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you.
We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe!
In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”. Ask us about the story!

My dogs and I had a wonderful time here! We’ve already gone twice and can’t wait to go again. Minus the occasional car passing by, you truly get to enjoy the peace, quiet, and beauty of nature at its fullest.
As the owner of a reactive dog, it’s incredibly rare to find places where he can simply be a dog without the usual triggers. All three of my dogs had an amazing time—they ran, explored, and loved every part of the trails.
This trip was also my first time camping as a solo female camper, and I felt completely safe and secluded. Being tucked away from the beaten path made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy some peaceful time in nature with my dogs.

We had a great 2-night stay in site #4! It was exactly as described and perfect for my mobility-challenged husband, our dog, and our 15ft travel trailer. The river sounds were soothing, the expansive meadow and tall trees provided picturesque surroundings for our stay. We had the place almost completely to ourselves for the weekend. Hosts were very responsive to my questions ahead of time and even on our drive up as we needed clarification regarding the directions. Note to others coming up from the Stockton area—you can disregard the instructions about plugging in an alternate location for directions to avoid the impassable road, that’s for travelers coming from Placerville.

This site was beautiful, we were at campsite 5 which had immediate river access, although there are various entry points around the whole site. We shared a lot with campsite 6 and 7 but had plenty of space to ourselves. They provided a picnic table along with another table which was handy for the rest of our gear.

Amazing and very spacious camp site! My friends and I spent 2 nights here and really appreciated how much space we had to run around. The different levels allowed for privacy when we wanted to take a nap while also felt intimate when we spent time cooking, stargazing, and sitting around the campfire. We really enjoyed our time at Camp Nauvoo!!! The owners were very accommodating and the care takers were really welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with them! It’s beautiful at the camp and seems to have an option of camp site for any preference. The river is really wonderful and my family enjoyed fishing all weekend. Our kiddos really loved the entire experience and that is major win for us, so thank you. We look forward to our next visit.

Perfect if you’re visiting Apple Hill Farms! The site in the middle of the forest is beautiful, clean, and ready for camping. However, it is not actually on Harris Farm—it’s across a busy road. Because of that, it doesn’t really feel like you’re staying on the farm; it feels more like dispersed camping, which we actually enjoyed.
Only the two sites located in the orchard are directly on the farm.
The host and farm workers are very friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel right at home. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

This place was very beautiful and I feel like my family and I got really lucky. We had the whole place to ourselves pretty much. I think it's because we camped during the week but only had neighbors the first night. We enjoyed paddle boarding around the small lake. It's very beautiful with lots of wildlife. The only thing I could see it could be crowded if there were lots of other people here. The campsites are pretty close together. And not all are level but we made do. Definitely would come back here.

What a great adventure we had. Everything was perfect. Camp site was good, quiet and right near the river. Gordon, the dog, loved the swimming hole. The site was clean and the hosts were lovely. We even got some fresh eggs for breakfast. We couldn't have asked for more.

Such a gorgeous piece of land! Clearly all of the built spaces have been a labor of love for Bobby. I imagine it will continue to grow and evolve. I was the only one there (which is what I wanted) but I imagine it would be much different with lots of people staying, as the sleeping rooms are fairly close to each other. The outdoor kitchen is fantastic!
Bobby was communicative and kind. I loved staying here.

Fallen Leaf Campground
Beautiful redwoods surrounding and tucked away from the road. Plenty of restrooms (and the cleanest I’ve ever seen), and friendly staff. Only critique I’d say is that it is a crowded campground- the spots have little privacy and are close together.
Great walking distance to the lake but it is a rocky beach, however it is nice and dog friendly. Smaller so get there early! Bathrooms were clean and sites were decently sized. Overall a good experience - we will be back!

Was at site 123. Good site, near bathrooms but not close to other people. Wish there were more trees on the East side as the sun was blinding in the morning. If I were to go again I would stay around site 86, on the bottom of the loop. Close to the lake and bathrooms, trees on east and west, with a big open prairie nearby.

Meeks Bay is congested and isn’t the most peaceful campsite. If you are okay with having a packed campground then I highly recommend it due to its location! You are right next to the lake, and our campground hosts were extremely kind and friendly. Lake Tahoe is a great place to be; there are a few Market/Delis which have lines out the door for food and beverages. We recommend driving into Tahoma and go to that market the food there is amazing. Also bring some cash so you can rent a kayak from the campground hosts instead of having to drive further. Reasonable price at $35 for the day compared to $80-$100. So great hikes as well if you drive further North such as Eagle Rock Trail. This is less then a mile up and the views are worth it.

This is THE place to camp if you're visiting Lake Tahoe. That is if you can do without electricity & cable tv. Reservation only.
Beautiful campground. All sites seemed good. We had site 75, which is on the outside loop by the trailhead. There is a parking lot next to the site, but we had an entertaining time watching people.
The outside sites are the best. If I remember right, sites 52 & 64 have good views of the river. I would try for them if we ever get to come back.
The inside sites are tucked into the woods. Most are reasonably private. There is no view of Fallen Leaf Lake from any of the campsites.
Bears are active. We put a bag of sweet smelling candy in the bear box & guess who was trying to get at it? Be bear aware!

Best part about this campground is that it has great beach access - all sites are just a short stroll away from the lake. Unfortunately, the sites are pretty small and tightly packed, so there is not much privacy. The campground is also really close to Highway 89 which makes it pretty loud during the day - you can hear the cars zooming by. Not a bad place to stay if you want to explore the Tahoe area but definitely not a campsite at which I would recommend spending too much time.

This was a great little spot just outside Tahoe city, about a 5 minute drive from the high street. We were really lucky to find a campground that was open on the east side of the lake as the summer season had only just opened the day before we arrived!! Situated right across the road from the lake, William Kent is a large campground fitted with about 70 sites. As we were staying really early in the season there was only about 4-5 other guests staying around the camp which made for a lovely peaceful night. There is the sweetest deli right across the road that is fully stocked with go that is fully stocked with gourmet produce that is open late on weekends! $35 to camp, large sites & clean toilets would definitely stay again!

Heavy traffic during daytime cause it´s located at the trail head of Cascade Falls and Desolation Wilderness. My tip is that you hike and play the whole day and come to sleep and enjoy the campground at night when everyone is gone!. Very convenient spot

This campground provides no privacy or isolation. It's located next to the very busy Inspiration Point and the popular Cascade Falls hiking trail. Both those attractions are beautiful and crowded. The campground itself consists of car-camping spots packed.
