Site 4 - Camp in the forest
Great spot
Site 4 is the best, further away from everything and there is a good flat spot for a tent. Nice place to camp especially if going to apple hill

Clean site, nice owner, sloped site
Super nice owners, adorable farm, clean porta potty and clean, minimal campsite with a garbage can and picnic table. The ground was pretty sloped and we couldn’t find a flat spot at our campsite but luckily the owner said none of the other sites were reserved and one of them had an artificial grass pad that was pretty flat

Fun for adults and children
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dogs on the grounds are very friendly and well behaved, they don’t really bother you or even bark a lot. The apple farm that they run has a variety of foods and fun things for kids.

Furry friends & fun activities :)
This campground is amazing !! We were welcomed by the sweetest dogs and cats at a cute little pie shop on the farm. We stayed at site #4, one of the woodsy forest areas. It was beautiful and had lots of space. The staff is super friendly and laid back. There’s all kinds of fun things to do at the farm such as apple and berry picking, pumpkin picking, flower picking, mining for gems, painting rocks and pumpkins, there’s always something fun to do here which I really love :) also picked out a pie on my way out and it was great, we’ll definitely be back !

Nice forest camping
Very nice stay! The directions to the spot were clear, it was very isolated even with other campers near by. Would be a great stay for children as they have some fun activities to do over there! It is a campsite so be sure to be prepared to get dirty as it's red clay dirt that does tend to get everywhere but that's half the fun of camping! I bought a frozen strawberry rhubarb pie from the shop which I will be baking tonight. Highly recommend

This was my first time using Hip Camp, and I’m glad to say that it was a wonderful first experience. My husband and I absolutely loved the trees all around us, and it was only an hour away from Lake Tahoe. The bathrooms were super clean. The best part was seeing the stars above us every night and getting to try the berry pie from the farm. Definitely recommend!

Quiet place to camp!
Such a spacious location, and being under the apple trees and stars was so much fun. Staff hosted an outdoor movie night for the kids at no additional cost. They loved it. Will definitely be going back.

Peaceful, well-loved camp and farm
Everything good that the other reviews say are true. Jane and her property are fantastic. We stayed one night on a weekday, late September. The farm is the furthest west of the farms on the Apple Hill map, which is still only about 5-10 minutes away from the other hub of farms like Rainbow Orchards, Apple Ridge, etc. Not only is it a great location, you get to stay in a secluded, peaceful, CLEAN area under giant pine trees and star-filled night sky. The camping site has several flat areas for pitching tents (soil is quite soft for tent spikes), a picnic table and a couple chairs, and is next to a creek (dry at the moment), a clear opening for star-gazing, and two porta potties. Their farm is across the road from where the campsites are - from campsite #2 to their barn with the shop, it was *maybe* a two-minute walk. We also got to do berry-picking since it was still in season - we were very happy. The animals there (2 dogs, 7 cats? and some chickens) were also super friendly and sweet. We ended up spending the entire morning at the campsite and the farm. Very relaxed energy. I will be back. Thank you Jane, Dan, and everyone on the farm.

Site 2 - Camp in the forest
My friends and I booked sites 2 and 5. Site 2 is bigger and in the middle of the other sites. We used site 2 as our communal area and was able to fit 4 tents on there, and then 2 tents on site 5. Beautiful property with lots of tall trees! The farm is a short walk away with an electrical plug if you need it. We bought an apple pie, and warmed it up on our grill. DELICIOUS. There was also a friendly dog who came by when we had our meals.

Story Book Adventures
Camping at the Harris Tree Farm is like a sweet story book adventure. We had site 1 & 6. 1 is in the middle of apple orchards- so CUTE! But 1 was my favorite from both. It has the Apple Orchards, Xmas trees, beautiful views & open space for the kids to play. The activities minning, rock painting, make your own bouquet, pumpkin patch, berry picking, movie night and Bakery was an AMAZING feature! The staff & host and co-host Shy were all great. Restrooms are porta-potties but were all very clean. The sweet cuddling dogs and cats on the farm were a favorite too. Great relaxing vibe, will be coming back!!

Camping and pie :)
My group and I set up a tent on site 3 at Harris Family Farm. It was a really nice space. On one side, there is a farm and pie shop where cats and dogs roam happily and greet guests! This is also where you find water. My party was on the other side of the road which was more of a traditional camping experience. She provided portable toilets, portable washing stations, and trash bins. Most sites seem to have tables and chairs already which is nice! Jane is super friendly and helpful and bakes amazing pies (you should definitely try them!) We got the blueberry nectarine. Yum! For 7 of us, 2 cars, we fit perfectly in the campsite. There was even extra space. Jane was nice enough to accommodate our late 10pm check in. Thanks! My favorite was probably that there were shops so close by so if you forgot some groceries or need more propane/coals you can head to the Safeway 5 mins away!

Camping under the Milky Way Galaxy!
Great spot! We camped here on Labor Day weekend and you can see the Milky Way galaxy with your bare eyes! The spot is very easy to find, you’ll be surrounded by deers, squirrels, birds and trees. It’s rare to have fresh baked pies and turnovers in a camp site and to have them so good is a huge plus. The mini donuts were the best ones I’ve had in my life. I will definitely go back to this place. 😁

Forest camping at it's finest!
Ya'll -- this place is ADORABLE. The farm is cute with fresh fruit, friendly people, and animals around. But the campsite was awesome! Facilities were clean and well maintained, and it was like being in our own little forest/redwood grove. The first night we were on our own which was a special kind of magical, but even as other campers came to other sites we weren't on top of one another and the only reason we even heard our neighbors is because of the kids. Highly recommend this place if you need a camping getaway but also want to have things like a picnic table, shade, and portos!

Nice campsite but loud neighbours
The campsite itself was nice, yet, we had a large group camping next to us who decided to have a party till late in the night. They were loud and did not consider the other campers. This was not the fault of the host and when we told her she said to us that she would talk to them.

Amazing camp and next door to a lovely farm. The forest was beautiful. I loved camping under the trees. We went to a local reservoir called Sly and spent the day swimming to then come back to an event at the farm. Fresh homemade summer pies were soooo delicious. I will definitely return!

Perfect car camping spot! Jane was helpful and gave clear directions. Water was great and easy to access. Bathrooms were extremely clean. The camp site had a picnic table and two good sized tent areas. This had a summer camp, laid back family kind of vibe. Loved the easy access to apple hill farms and desolation wilderness hikes.

Thank you for hosting us. We'd love to come back. Jane was very friendly, showed us where we needed to camp. Our camp site was excellent and the portable toilet was super clean. We got there when it was dark and as we had to continue our journey early next morning, we didn't get a chance to hang out more. I hope next time. Again thanks.

Jane’s historic family farm was a great place to stay while I was on my work trip. It is within 15 minutes to Placerville and 5-10 minutes to Pollack Pines and Hwy 50. The farm itself is very quaint and put together. The pie shop is a wonderful attribute. I stayed in orchard campsite 1 and had great laid back evenings, restful sleep and woke up with peaceful mornings. *Depended on the rooster- full farm vibes. I would highly recommend and. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again on my next personal or work trip in the area.

Great spot & pie!
Our group of 8 and 3 dogs loved camping here! We had site 3 and had more than enough room for 3 large tents and a hammock. The farm and area was beautiful, not too far from anything you might want to do in nature or need from a store, only a 15-20 min drive from most things. Jane was also a great host, she was always very responsive and helpful & also makes amazing pies!! Would love to come back again.

Great location & wonderful people
My friend and I spent two nights at June’s farm. It was perfect! Close enough to desolation wilderness that we could hike and swim in the lakes. One night there was even a fire in the communal pit. We met lots of wonderful people and had a restorative time in nature. The last morning we were there we had a slice of her famous pie- excellent! Looking forward to staying there sometime in the future.
