If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with a few close friends or your family, this option is for you. Tucked in along the South Fork of the American River, this beautiful campsite features picnic benches, a propane fire pit with propane included (fire pits help prevent wildfires), and a prep table for fixing up those tasty fireside meals in group sites. Guests also have access to shared bathroom facilities (and yes, there are showers!), volleyball, ping pong, communal benches, a sink and dishwashing station, and a common swimming area along the river. Most sites are within a very short walking distance to the banks of the South Fork of the American River, this place is ideal for anyone interested in experiencing the beauty of the foothills and the rush of the river. We offer both tent and RV sites. Each RV site includes its own picnic table, water and 30Amp power hookups. Guests will also have access to our volleyball court, ping pong, communal benches, and a common area with a sink and dishwashing station. Additionally, you can access the swim area and go for a dip to cool off on a hot day. We offer toilets, showers, trash disposal, potable water and more depending on the site you chose. Leashed pets 40 pounds or less are allowed as well. Enjoy biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, paddling, climbing, swimming, whitewater rafting, and wildlife watching all nearby, or on site. **Please read rules: 1. Use of or participation in any of the following while on camp grounds is prohibited during your stay: ● Illegal drugs ● Smoking ● Public intoxication ● Fireworks ● No Charcoal 2. Pets/Animals: Guests at our RV sites are permitted to have up to 1 small dog (under 40lbs). If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with a few close friends or your family, this option is for you. You will not be camping on the water, but you can see the water. River access is only a couple hundred feet from the site. Tucked in along the South Fork of the American River, this beautiful campsite features picnic benches, a propane fire pit with propane included (fire pits help prevent wildfires), and a canopy to keep you cool on those hot days. Please bring you're own propane grill as one is not provided (charcoal not allowed). This site is very private and close to the river so please use caution with young kids. Parking for this site is about 100 yards away so a hand cart is provided for bring gear down to campsite.  Guests also have access to shared bathroom facilities (and yes, there are showers!), volleyball, ping pong, communal benches, a  communal sink and dishwashing station, and a common swimming area along the river. We had a blast at this campsite! It is perfect for a group camping trip or birthday! We appreciated the covered picnic benches, sink and clean facilities. The outlet for the river was nice and private and we stayed the whole day near the river. At night the view of the stars was beautiful and loved the propane fireplace. Can’t wait to come back for another trip!

My friends and I LOVED this campsite! So much space for the 10 of us, lots of shade, and so many amenities that are kept in great shape: showers, flushable toilets, clean porta potties, easy river access, wagons to help move our stuff, large canopy with 6 picnic tables, propane fire pit, sink/trashcans in our campsite, volleyball net nearby, and a couple more things we didn’t get to use! There were a few yellow jackets in the morning during brunch hours, but didn’t have many bugs overall. Will be coming back :)

We were incredibly spoiled and had this place to ourselves. Everything from morning/evening walks to the river and having access to hookups for running the AC in the heat wave were all an added bonus. Plus the flushing toilets and trash bins were great to have during our week stay. Both Paul and Kris were so sweet and glad we got to say hi to them. Would absolutely stay here again!

This was an awesome site!! We came with 3 other families with kids ranging in age from 8 to 15 and had an amazing time. The site is beautiful, nestled under trees, spacious. The amenities were great - sink, potable water, prep table, shaded picnic bench eating area. Was great to be so close to porto-potties (which were very clean!) and had a handwashing sink and good soap provided outside, and perfect short walk to the river. Definitely recommend bringing life vests for kids. There is a little beachy area but after that the water definitely has a current. Our older kids loved clambering up rocks alongside the river and exploring but needed an adult with them for safety. One note is that the campsite almost acts as an ampi-theater in terms of echoing sound so for light sleepers (like me!) definitely recommend earplugs. Overall we had a wonderful stay and are so grateful!

We used a tent on an RV camp site and it was great! The camp ground seemed full but plenty of space between sites that it didn’t bother any of us. Or site was in a perfect spot adjacent to all the amenities Kris’s land had to offer! We will definitely be coming back!!

We loved the Canopy site. Having our own water sink and garbage cans was so nice. We had portable bathrooms close by too as well as access to the flush toilets and showers. Not having to use quarters and being able to lock the door on the shower was an added benefit. The kids loved the big rock in the campsite and loved going to the common area to play corn hole and ping pong. Lots of amenities and quiet sites. Would definitely come here again

Our group of families with small kids loved our stay at RockNWater Cove Camp! The setting was gorgeous, with established trees providing lots of shade, and the river was right there with a fun little beach. The site was well cared for and we appreciated the convenience of the sink with potable water and the awning over the picnic tables. Kris collected the trash and recycling daily, which was so helpful. The bathrooms were conveniently located, clean, and the showers had water.

The site was big and easy to back into. It is slanted toward the camp side, so additional leveling may be required depending on your rig. The campground was pretty rustic, but it did have flush bathrooms and showers. The sad part was the view and access to the river. It is tiny! The access was no more than 3 beach towels wide. It's a hike to get there and no river view or sound from the site.

My group had such a great time camping at the Oak site—it far exceeded our expectations! The convenience of having the river just about a 3-minute walk away was amazing. The kids loved floating and playing in the water while watching the rafters pass by. The covered benches, sink, and prep area made preparing meals so much easier. The showers were also a great bonus, and we really appreciated the host stopping by to refill the propane and empty the trash. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

Hilltop Tent Site
Rock n Water cove has to be on the top of our favorite camp sites we’ve visited so far!! Hosted our family reunion here recently- 20 adults + 6 kids. We had reserved both the Hilltop and Moe site which was perfect since it just a short walk from each other. There were plenty of options for us to spread our 5 tents, had 3 long picnic tables, a canopy for shade, and an outdoor sink which we appreciated so much as we are a family that loves to cook! Bathrooms and showers with hot water were a short walk away and were always noted clean! We spent our day at the beach area which was so fun for us as we got to watch rafters and people canoeing down the river. Water had enough shallow areas for the kids to dip in and play. There was also another trail that lead to another beach which I wish we found sooner and it had even more spots for the kids to run around and explore. The hosts were so kind and attentive! We even got one of the hosts to play a funny game as he was passing by our site. lol. My entire family had such a great time that we are already talking about come back!!

My wife, daughter, and I really enjoyed our stay! Phenomenal location. The campground was level and had enough room for a large tent as well as our vehicle. The flush bathrooms were always spotless and an easy walk. The direct access to the river was also really nice. Owner was super friendly. Definitely would go back!

We really enjoyed our time at the Cove, even if it was terribly hot while we were there! With access to the river, it was easy to cool down and slow down. Our spot (Moe) was perfect for our camper van to plug in and had a super spot for a tent as well. The bathrooms were clean and overall everything felt well maintained. Recommend!

Our second stay at this Hipcamp. Easy to get to from Bay Area. Easy parking. Carts provided for unloading. Communication with the host is great. They are super friendly. We have stayed at Canopy site both times we visited . Site has its own sink. It is crazy hot here in the summer, but this site has shade ALL DAY! There are lots of amenities a little bit away from our site that sound great (BBQ I think, showers) but we never used them. Added a half day raft trip with OARS rafting co. Will definitely be back. *Only word of warning is that the river moves FAST. To chill on a tube you really have to bring rope and tie it off to something. Little kiddos could definitely be pulled down the river if you are not right with them.
