The view from the cabin was striking. You can still see the fireline marking the western edge of the Caldor fire in 2021. Now going on five seasons afterward it is heartening to see the forest begin recovery. Sunset reveals the coastal range in the distance, then darkness brings out both the distant city lights and the stars overhead. It's quite a view. The cabin has a huge comfy bed and a breakfast nook, but we used the picnic table outside for meals. The weather was perfect. You don't expect a flush toilet at a hipcamp site, so that was a nice surprise! Had a very restful couple days that we needed so much.

Closer to Heaven was just OK. Campsites are spread out, but when booking we were placed right next to the only other group in the camp. The activities are all outside of the camp between 30-40mins drive away. 65$ a night for campsite with no access to sink, kitchen, or a shower is steep. Hopefully the small tough sheds on the property will come with some usable amenities soon.

The Log Haven cabin was a great place to stay. It's nice, clean, and we happened to have the entire camp to ourselves so it was awesome but for one thing... The bees! There was 50 to 100 bees at all times (unfortunately not exaggerating). They are all over the place, it's impossible to escape them. We stayed 2 nights and got stung only once, so i guess it isn't too bad. But if you're allergic or something, beware.
Another thing is the owner of the land. He showed up on our second day and it looked like he thought we were other campers (people that apparently tried to cancel on them or something) and i guess wanted to argue over this. Then once it was established we weren't those people, he talked in detail about his love to kill animals with his bow which made us uncomfortable and feel a bit unsafe.
Overall we still recommend the cabin as it's a beautiful place and close to some really nice swimming spots.

This is a good spot to camp. The bathroom is nice. The camping sites are generally flat. The ones near the bathroom are relatively close together and might be loud if the place is crowded. Sites 7 and 8 are farther away from people.

Thanks for such a serene “home away from home”! We absolutely loved the dog house and we’d definitely come back again when the weather conditions clear up from the forest fires. So much wildlife to see around the area.

Great spot. One of the cleanest camp toilets I’ve ever seen, each site has a lot of space, the area is beautiful. Lots to do nearby. Our group went wine tasting, Saluti down the road is exceptional.

It was good but not as good as other hip camps I have visited. There were lots of yellow jackets but no traps. The toilet too had lots of bugs and yellow jackets inside. Had a neighbor camper who had couple of dogs left unattended - the were barking all day long. Not a very pleasant experience but the place was alright.

We love this campsite! It is gorgeous and very well maintained. The altitude got us out of the heat of the Valley and into a gorgeous forest. It's quiet with a pine fragrance that makes you want to take a deep breath. The bees like it too. They were all around, especially when we were eating. But we will certainly be back soon.

Very clean and cozy glamping cabin! We had the whole campground to ourselves during the week day and it was so peaceful and quiet up there. We explored some river spots with our 3 month old pup. The sites are spread out just enough, similar to other campgrounds. The bathroom was flush and amazing. The hosts were incredibly nice and are beyond generous for sharing their property with the hipcamp community. Everything was 10 stars, minus the amount of bee's around the cabin (poor things were just looking for water but just a heads up, we had to eat inside the cabin as we were overrun and I got stung!) I am an avid camper so I think it is time to invest in a mesh insect tent so I can eat in peace. Would definitely love this place in the spring or fall more when it isn't so hot~ Thanks again!

I enjoyed this campsite and would go back here again. The campsites are spaced far apart and spacious. Great tree coverage in the area. The road coming into the campsite was gravel and well maintained. I appreciated the clean bathroom with a flushing toilet.

We just came off of a wonderful weekend at Christina’s campground. Highly recommended, it was clean, quiet and spacious. They had welcome packets with your name on it, including a sticker, and trash bag and recommended local places to eat and drink and swim! Sooo thoughtful. We stayed in site 8 and loved the distance from the other campers. We felt like we ha the whole place to ourselves.
Things to note:
You’re in the forest, bugs exist. That being said, this property does have a lot of yellow jackets. They like food and water or sugary drinks so if you have both (which you will) they’ll be around. That being said, we had no issue with them, we left them alone and they didn’t sting any of us or our dogs. They will be around you or on your cup or by you when you’re cooking. We weren’t bothered by it, we were in their space, they weren’t in ours.
The flush toilet is amazing to have, they also has disinfectant spray to use to wipe down the seat after you’re done for sanitation purposes which I thought was really cool. On the outside of the bathroom there is a faucet and automatic dispensing soap to wash your hands and paper towels to dry. Was very nice!
Please remember that when there is a fire ban in effect you do not burn wood. We had no issue with that whatsoever, we used our propane table top grill as well as charcoal in the provided fire pit for cooking and smores.
They don’t have breed restrictions on dogs, which was absolutely amazing. We had a total of three dogs a lab, a Rottweiler, and a Chihuahua. Please make sure you clean after your pets.
And make sure you clean after yourself. You do pack out your own trash out so bring plenty of trash bags and you’ll be set.
They also have a frisbee golf course on the grounds as well as a horseshoe pit. Frisbees and horseshoes provided. They were both awesome to have as options for activities without leaving the grounds!

The campground was overall great. You can see the other sites, but they're not super close like other campgrounds.
The bathroom was clean and there was running water on the grounds. We did not see the hosts at any point during the trip.
No issues and the drive in wasn't too bad. You're on some backroads for about 5 minutes, but there's plenty of signs.
We had campground 10, which was in a decent location.
I would not recommend campsite 5, it's right next to the bathroom which has a lot of traffic.
There were a few bees, so I'd recommend bringing a food tent due to the bees that were there. They came out during our meals.

This was a beautiful place just high enough to get out of the valley heat. Well maintained campsites that are spaced for privacy. An awesome little log cabin flushing toilet and gracious helpful hosts that are a pleasure to deal with. The road into the actual camp is dusty and very rough so go slow and watch for deer.

Loved staying here! There was amazing star gazing. And any camping/glamping with a flushing toilet (in a super clean outhouse!) with a soap dispenser next to the spigot, gets an A+ in my book.
We arrived pretty late, so the cabin was hard to find, but the directions in general were great. Really the only thing was the inside of the cabin was a bit cramped. There is one large bed, and two camping mats - one for each mini loft (2 lofts, but one ladder to move between the two). We decided to just have the mats on the floor/the porch, since it was hot out. Oh, and make sure you bring sheets and/or extra bedding for those!
Otherwise it was a wonderful time and we definitely loved and recommend staying here!!

The place was beautiful! The perfect weekend getaway. I spent two nights here and on Saturday I made my way down to Jenkinson Lake, which was even more beautiful. Would definitely camp here again! The only downside is another group near my site was pretty loud until about 1am and kept me up, a little too late.. I didn’t think they were that close to my camp site, they were just loud.

We loved our stay! Even with other campers in the nearby sites we had plenty of privacy and got to reconnect with nature. Entire property was clean and well maintained. We’re definitely going to come back when it’s not fire season so we can enjoy the beautiful campfire set up. Also very kid friendly, our 14 month old especially loved the giant pinecones.

We had a great time! Jim came over and rigged up a ring toss game for our kids to play…and I ended up playing it for a couple of hours. Super hospitable…campgrounds are spread out for privacy, and lots to do. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful views! The log haven cabin is closest to the hiking trail and furthest away from the other campsites. It had plenty of space and even had blankets we could take outside with us. Love how dog friendly this site is! The only downfall is that there is only one restroom shared amongst all sites. If the site isn’t crowded, it’s not a problem, but since my husband and I went during Memorial Day weekend, we were constantly waiting for the restroom. That’s not enough from keeping us from returning though. We loved our stay!

Beautiful campground with lots of trees. Sites are spaced far enough apart, and was very quiet. The downside was that for the price, there should be somewhere to put your trash when you leave. You do need to pack your trash in the car with you.

It was really beautiful staying here! The campgrounds are pretty spaced out and you are completely surrounded by tall trees and blissful nature. There is a camp store for people who forget some things like we did, however there is 0 cell service up there and you’ll have to call them in order for the store to open, which is inconvenient due to having no cell service to call them. That was the only negative part. Besides that, it was very beautiful! And make sure you bring a GAS STOVE!

Remote location in the middle of the forest.
Good toilet and every site is large and has a picnic table.
We had a nice hike and 2 days at the river.
This is not a park so there is a lot of private land around, a bit harder to find hiking trails.

It was just as advertised. Very basic (one up from backpack camping). The one toilet that was available for all 10+ campsites was clean and well-maintained. Just one spigot outside. Roads very dusty to get up to the campsite. Tina very helpful in texts. They should however provide some garbage facility. I asked Tina could she do a favor and take care of our garbage as we had a full car. She replied and said she could not, which was fair. However when some of the other campers dumped their garbage in neighbors cans at the end of the road, she was unfortunately quick to accuse us of doing this without checking the camp checkin papers that were inside the disposed garbage to confirm it was not our campsite. No apology. I would recommend charging more and taking care of garbage as this is going to happen again as everyones garbage cans are on the street all the time.

It was beautiful and so clean! It’s definitely remote and the stars at night were incredible. The toilet was so clean and even had disinfectant to spray after each person. The only critique I have is that it said there was WiFi and there wasn’t. Other than that I’d definitely stay again.

Great spot with a flushable toilet, water spigot and a giant Verizon tree pole for perfect 5G reception. Was a little tricky reading the hand drawn map but with help of nice campers we managed to get into our spot no problem. (We would have gotten it eventually ;) )
Fire restrictions were in effect so no campfires but the pits all looked really nice and would love to go back if I’m in the area when burning is allowed. Stayed there as an in between spot for kayaking in Sly Park and Folsom lake.
Dirt road to get up the hill was very well maintained and was a piece of cake for our old van.

Beautiful property, toilet was very clean and convenient (though I would not want to be in that site nearest to it) was great having fresh clean water available. Hiking trail on property was steep in spots, so may not be appropriate for all activity levels. Lots of nearby activities if you choose to leave property. Driving instructions provided were clear and accurate - prepare for 1.0 mi off-road / dirt & gravel to get to site. Only thing was the $5/dog per day fee. Not sure if this was to be a deterrent, but there are no dog-related amenities to this site that made us feel this was worth it. Hosts were also very communicative and quick to reply to questions.

Place is great. Loved it. Lots of trees and we can see the stars clearly. Restroom is great. Neighbors are considerate. We stayed in Site 5 ( Less privacy but more convinient to bathroom). Only downside I can see is that some sites does not have firepit while some have it. It would have been nice to have it as well. Check with the host before booking the site if you need a site with firepit.
