We have 155 acres of the Sierra foothills just ~12 minutes from downtown Murphys. This is a working farm where we specialize in cut flowers and also grow a little food. When available we offer bouquets/eggs/veggies as an add-on. There are a few different listings, so make sure to read the details on your specific listing! -End of The Driveway -1 Pine -2 Pine The End of The Driveway is one big site for buses/RVs/big vans next to the Soup Kitchen. 1 Pine and 2 Pine are up a separate driveway on the ridge. The driveway spot is down the driveway a couple hundred yards from where we usually are so you’ll more or less be on your own, depending on if we have work to do down there or if there are other campers. We are happy to chat or leave you be, just let us know what your needs are. If you’re looking for a more isolated spot, see the listings for 1 Pine or 2 Pine. The 2nd area is “1 Pine” accessed by our second driveway that is 100 yards down the road from the farm. The driveway is kind of rough but definitely manageable with a truck, SUV or sedan if you’re willing to go for it. The drive goes up a couple hundred yards to the hilltop where there is a clearing and, you guessed it, 1 pine tree. From the back of the clearing there is a trail that leads you to 2 Pine, which is a walk that takes just a few minutes. 2 Pine is walk-in only but has great views of the sunset and is totally secluded and private and would be a good spot to either bring some friends for a little sunset party or for someone who wants to seriously unplug. There are plenty of flat spots to pitch a tent. **if you are a teacher or Pacific Crest Trail hiker let us know! We are happy to offer a discount :)

Learn more about this land Very remote off grid barn with an outhouse, vegetable garden, fruit trees, and small vineyard that I make wine from. There's a creek that runs through the property with Indian grinding holes. We also have volleyball, horseshoes, hiking trails, and much more! You will be in gold country where you can still find gold in the creek to this day! If you're lucky, you might find a nugget, but there's mostly pickers and fines. The nights are absolutely stunning for viewing the stars with no light pollution.  You will have almost complete privacy, with the exception of an occasional over head aircraft. For this reason, we ask all campers to be mindful about storing food and disposing of trash in the provided bins. The ranch is comprised of the camping lawns, camping facilities, several homes on the property (two Air BnB and the owner's home) and the motorcycle workshop. Car and RV campers are welcomed and there is plenty of car/RV parking on the asphalt lot outside the fence at the East Side of the property near the mailboxes at the intersection of Rte 4 and Brice Station Road.

We’re happy to recommend our favorite spots for hiking and swimming. If your trip is taking you farther afield, we’re 2 hours from Yosemite, and 2.5 hours from Lake Tahoe via the less-traveled Highway 4 in warmer months. Or you can can always just relax with a view in the cabin. A reminder that we are in the country, so the cabin is best suited to those who like a more rustic getaway. There is no AC, television, or microwave. We've gone without a TV and landline, but WiFi means you can stream to your own devices and make WiFi calls on your cell. We have loads of board games and puzzles. The kitchen has pots/pans/kettle, toaster, mini waffle iron, Brita pitcher, and rice cooker. For coffee drinkers, we have a coffee grinder, french press and pour over dripper.  Help yourself to organic coffee and tea! The cabin is mainly heated by a gas fireplace (looks like a wood stove, but does not need wood). We recommend bringing layers and slippers in the winter while the cabin warms up. Like most cabins in the area, there is no AC, but we provide room fans. Cell reception is unreliable throughout the Sierras except for Verizon, however at the cabin, WiFi calls are available through all carriers --to make calls, enable the setting on your cell phone. The cabin comfortably fits 4 people, with 1 bedroom, a sleeping loft (no door) and 1.5 bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, and the loft has a full-size mattress and its own half bathroom. We have a flat parking pad instead of a driveway, which makes things easier in the winter months. The rental rate covers a professional cleaning fee and linens and towels! Guests will need to take their garbage and recycling with them to the local refuse center which is on the way out.

I love the location of the site it was right near a creek which we could hear in pur car with the windows cracked. The fire pit was nice. The only thing was that we were a little bit confused on where exactly it was since we got there in the dark. But the host helped us find our spot.

Weekend Trip to Gold Wall Ranch & Vineyard

We had a lovely weekend at the Gold Wall Ranch. Michelle and Patrick were lovely hosts, we even got to see Patrick's band play at the local wine shop. The views were incredible and we got to see some beautiful wild life like deers and owls and the property is very well located to explore the cute towns of Jamestown, Sonora, as well as Lake New Mellones and Lake Don Pedro. We were the first guests of the season so the common grilling area wasn't quite ready for use yet, but we were still able to use our own cooking gear in the space.

If you need time to get away and enjoy a beautiful piece of Northern California, this is the place. We spent a wonderful weekend at site #1, exploring the Mokelumne River and the peaceful surrounding including a gold mine. Terry responded quickly to our questions, gave clear directions for RV access, and even met us to guide us to the campsite. The site was spotless, very level and thoughtfully equipped — everything we needed was provided. We had such a great stay that we’ll be booking again soon. Highly recommended!

We took our 20ft travel trailer in Feb (it is baja edition, so it can handle terrain). The space was perfect! Our dogs loved to play in the gentle stream that runs right beside the campsite. My 8 y/o daughter loved to climb the tree house. The host even had fire wood prepared for us in the fire ring. Thank you host! We’ll definitely be back when more snow comes.

This is 2nd time at this campground, so perhaps it goes without saying that I think it's awesome!! I decided to do a little mini solo camp out and felt safe/secure the whole time on my own. Water, electricity, and wifi all worked great during my stay. The campsite has a gravel base, so if towing a heavier rig, best to use 4-wheel drive. Such a special spot and close to fun things like Columbia historic park and just a short drive to Sonora. I also did some great hiking just a 10 minute drive away.

Incredible experience. The host was above and beyond accommodating, and his knowledge of the area made the experience extra special. We cannot thank him enough for how kind and welcoming he was, and he had so many interesting facts to share. This is a gem of a location, with a spectacular view and so much wildlife, particularly birds. You can spend a lot of time exploring the area, and the sound of the river was perfect to fall asleep to. This spot is also located near many caverns and historic towns if you don’t want to spend the entire time at the campground. We will definitely be back!

We had a short but incredibly sweet stay! The views were absolutely beautiful, and waking up to the lake each morning was such a peaceful experience. The small hike down to the lake was beautiful and totally worth it. The animals on the property were honestly the best part — plus we loved getting some extra affection from the resident pup. We even grabbed a few eggs for the road. Everything was wonderful from start to finish, and when we lost power, it was restored so quickly. Jeremy, our Hipcamp host, was super friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations for the area, which made the trip even better. 10/10 stay — we would absolutely come back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, memorable getaway.

Ryan was very welcoming and helpful. It was a great spot to stop and set up camp. He has EVERYTHING you need except a bed and food. He had lights set up, a shower, a full propane grill with two burners and tons of tables as well as a spot to do dishes. He gave great recommendations and his dogs were ADORABLE too. They are very friendly even with our dog who wasn’t so friendly so be careful about keeping your dog on leash if they have a high prey drive. I cannot say enough how awesome he was. Had an awesome experience here. Was a little concerned about how their dogs would act around my 2 little dogs but it wasnt that big of a hassle. Luna was very well-mannered and kept her distance from our dogs and she was super friendly. The guardian dogs only hung out for about 20 minutes when we first got there and then we didnt see them until the next day when they came and checked on us for another 20mins in the afternoon. The view was amazing, especially at sunrise. Jeremy was super cool and even cut us up some firewood to use.

We loved staying in the tree house with incredible views of the lake and nice, cosy set up for 2 people. Jeremy went above and beyond in terms of making us comfortable providing fire wood, helping us to get to the lake side for kayaking and letting us pet the cutest ever puppies that live on the farm. We ate some good food in the town of Murphys and Jeremy’s recommendations of V bistro and vino moda were both excellent. Waking up to the birds chirping and superb view of the lake, foothills clouds from the lofted bed was a real pleasure. Cannot recommend more for a nice get away!!

Overview

About

California Cavern is a limestone cave that burrows into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Winter and spring bring on the wet season where water levels will rise to fill reflecting pools within the most extensive system of caverns and passageways to be found in the historic gold mining region. Initially found by mistake this cavern system became the first location of it's kind to be open for guided tours and to this day remains one of the top 5 caving locations in the United States.

When to go

The best time to visit California Cavern is during the dry season for the Trail of Lights Tour, available on weekends. For a different experience, the wet season offers the Trail of Lakes Tour, showcasing the cavern's reflective pools. Mid-summer marks the opening of the more adventurous expeditions. Avoid visiting during extreme weather conditions that may lead to closures.

Know before you go

Wear appropriate footwear as cave floors can be slippery and uneven.
Check weather conditions and cavern water levels, as tours may vary seasonally.
Children must be closely supervised; backpacks are not allowed for safety reasons.
Reservations are required for expedition tours; call ahead to secure your spot.
Bring a light jacket as temperatures inside the cavern can be cooler than outside.
