Welcome to the Amaya Creek Redwood Campground! We are deep in the Santa Cruz mountains and it’s rustic so be prepared! The road is all paved but it can be narrow, bumpy and steep in some areas. Be sure to follow our directions! The campground is hilly to walk around. The cell phone reception is decent for all major carriers up at the entrance gate area but down in the campground really depends on the carrier, Verizon and AT&T are weak or even no signal down at the campground, T-Mobile and Comcast Mobile are better down there. If your phone doesn't work in the campground and you need to reach the host, go up to the entrance gate area, or ask other campers whose phone work down there to help. We do not have a trash service for the campground, we require all campers to PACK OUT THEIR TRASH! No wood burning fire is allowed all year around. Propane firepit is ok. Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 FREE hot water shower, utility shed with sink and hot water, and an outdoor amphitheater. The kitchen and washer/dryer is Staff Only not for campers. . We have 40 acres of redwood forest and two creeks running through including the Amaya Creek which serves the boundary of our property at the end of Amayak Creek Trail. There’s also a small waterfall off the Amaya Creek Trail, but it may dry out during the summer. Enjoy hiking, creeks and small waterfall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more. Most campsites allow 4-6 guests maximum with 1 car included in the nightly rate. Each additional vehicle is $15 per day and will be added at checkout once you add the correct number of vehicles you will be bringing. Pets are $10 per day, 1 pet per group ONLY. Please add this as an extra at the time of booking, you will see the option to add extras once you begin the checkout process. Dogs must be on leash at all times! Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. No drugs of any kind including marijuana allowed. No loud music allowed. This is a private property so no visitors are allowed, only paid guests. Our onsite staff will go around and enforce the rules. No hookup for RV and trailer, check each site description to see if RV/trailer is ok for that site.No trash service! Pack out your trash! No camp fire, drugs/smoke, loud music/noise, quiet hour 10p-8a Site 12 shaded, next to Site 8 4-6 people, 2 car. Bring and setup your own tent. No tent provided. Our water is from a natural spring. We are in the rural mountains and woods so overall it is pretty rustic! It's tick season in the spring and summer, watch out for ticks and use protection (insect repellant) as needed. We have a main trail on our 45 acre. The head of the main trail is right by the red Main House, just follow the paved the road down and it will become dirt road at campsite 12. It's about 45min to 1hr hike down to the end where the Amaya creek serves the boundary to the neighbor's property. On the main trail there is also a small waterfall, but it is not visible from the trail, you have to go off the trail on the left side to find it. I put pink ribbon on the tree there, but at other spots too so may not be the best sign. Enjoy hiking, creeks and small water fall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing (deer, turkey, owl etc), star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the beautiful redwoods and the amenities. The property itself was lovely, but we can’t have fire also bit disappointing, cause kids want to have marshmallow and that’s part of the camping experience. Anyway if that’s fire safety reason. It’s okay i guess. However, we felt that the host was not very accommodating. When we asked about using the grill, we were told that we had to rent it for $20 and return it before 4:00 p.m. because the next guests would be arriving. The listing mentioned a shared grill, so we assumed it was included and available for guests to use at no additional cost. When we checked out, we also asked where we could dispose of our trash. We understood that the property does not have an on-site trash disposal area, but since we were driving back to Los Angeles, we did not want to take five or six bags of trash with us. We were simply asking for a recommendation. Instead of offering suggestions, the response felt defensive and unhelpful. Overall, while the location and accommodations were wonderful, the lack of hospitality and welcoming attitude from the host left us disappointed. Thanks

Great site, space for a hammock (w/ appropriate straps) and tent. We had a not so great night for external reasons but the site is extremely quiet, beautiful and great for wildlife viewing! Leave no trace :)

We had site #3- We had the driest spot, there was two or three of these- a lot of sunlight, not too much shade and not much privacy. There wasn’t not much available upon short notice but checking other camping sites that were booked, it would’ve probably be better in the other sites under the forest trees than where we stayed at. FYI- it’s way up in mountains, with very narrow roads, few potholes and no service. Overall, it was an interesting place to check out.

The views were gorgeous being right among the the redwoods. I picked Site 3 because it's on the bottom edge so you have some distance from most of the other sites, which it totally had. But to be fair, that made the bathroom walk a real slog uphill. We stayed for a long weekend and it was a great home base from which to go adventuring. There was poison oak off the paths so know what that looks like and be especially careful setting up camp at night. I had a pair of gloves so it wasn't an issue for us

We had a great glamping experience overall. The campsite had a wonderful atmosphere, and the tent was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to relax. The location and overall setup made for a very enjoyable stay. The only area for improvement would be the bedding. While the bed itself was comfortable, the sheets and comforter could have been cleaner. There were quite a few visible spots and stains on the comforter, which took away from an otherwise excellent experience.

The site was very dusty, the approach road was difficult to drive to and not maintained. There was no place to dispose trash. Lot of trash bins outside property had notices from waste management. The restroom was not marked anywhere. Tried to call and find out but no cell signal.

The campgrounds are very nice with a rugged charm. The paved road around the campgrounds is very narrow. The bathroom is clean but has a lot of bugs, but it is nature! The bathroom is close but an uphill walk from this spot. A few tips for people for this specific site 4A. We parked and car camped at the site right by the 4A sign (there’s a picnic table there) , but realized the next morning we were in the wrong spot and we should have gone past the sign several feet to the other picnic table under the redwoods. We were in the grassy area with weeds! The real spot looks much flatter and no grass under the redwood trees. Please also be advised the terrain may be uneven, we were cooking with one of those Korean pans and it kept slipping off the stove so we had to add some cardboard and other materials to even it out to cook. Since there’s no Internet at the site, I would advise to screenshot the campsite map and pics of the campsite beforehand.

Better value than what I expected. Campsite was located in a redwood forest with trees all around. It was truly spectacular. It was great to have a hot shower and toilet facilities available. Not overly crowded although there are some people around. Can't really ask for more when it comes to camping in a redwood forest. They did a great job. The road at the campsite is a bit narrow and a little steep, but most vehicles should be able to handle it with no problem.

Pros: Great campsite, remote, quiet, rustic. It’s a beautiful property nestled in the redwoods. Host Jing was helpful and responded promptly. Notes: Highly recommend arriving during daylight hours, as the private road in is no joke. Some reviews indicate family friendliness, and I agree (especially if you want them to unplug, as there is no cell service), as long your kids are old enough to avoid falling down a hill and/or into a poison oak patch. Ours is not quite, so we will have to wait a little while to return.

Overall we had a good time. The site was good for a camper but for tents is not that level. The 1 lane road (driveway) into the campground was steep, narrow and full of pot-holes. Trailers also can have touch time with curves. The loop had a tree with a large low hanging branch making it impossible for a camper to get through. So we took the same direction in as we did out of the loop to drive out. The climb up the steep narrow road was nerve racking. If there hasn't been accidents on that road before, I'd be surprised. If my wife and kids knew of that road ahead of time they wouldn't have let us go. Fortunately, we made it in, had a good time and made it out.

Loved this spot! I only had one night here but it was the perfect little retreat. Easy to get to, while still feeling away from it all. I stayed in site 7, a secluded walk in spot among the redwoods. It was exactly what I was hoping for, quiet and peaceful.

We stayed here with our family for two nights over the weekend. The redwoods and overall scenery are beautiful and peaceful, which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the campsite itself did not match the price. Our site (8A) was extremely small and only had one broken, unusable picnic table. Friends staying at site 12 had no picnic table at all, and their site wasn’t even clearly marked. There was also no nearby trash disposal, no close water tap, and the bathroom facilities were far away and in poor condition. At around $100 per night, we expected much better amenities and maintenance for the cost.

The campsite is beautiful! It is very rustic! I don’t mind that at all, but if you are looking for a very well kept, beautiful bathroom, all groomed… this is not for you. This is a place to be very close to nature, it has a beautiful hike, the spaces are surrounded by trees, absolutely amazing! My only disappointment it was that on a Sunday, they decided the do some shopping trees and chip wood with heavy machinery making a horrible loud noise from 9am to 6pm no stop. It was absolutely ridiculous! For the future, the owners should close the camping grounds to do maintenance like this.

Beautiful property, quiet and well maintained. The host was responsive and the amenities were perfect for what we needed. Warm water in showers, clean bathrooms, private sites. The beds were comfortable, but if you are afraid of bugs make sure you bring bug spray. Also bring a mat because there is a lot of mud. Hike down to the private creek, it is so worth it!

The tent was perfect and the beds were comfortable. This site is very close to the toilets. The on-site hike was lovely and my daughter enjoyed seeing the banana slugs on the way to the waterfall. The only downside was a nearby campsite was very loud and didn't follow the rules about quiet time or campfires.

My boyfriend and I visited this site for the first time. The host provided detailed directions to the site if you’re coming from the South, but we were arriving from the North so the GPS took us straight there. Roads were narrow and had multiple pot holes so I would be careful if you’re bringing a trailer or low ride car. I would definitely recommend a 4WD but you can make a 2WD work. The site was about 5 minutes from the restroom as listed and the restrooms were clean (and better than a porta potty). No trash service so don’t expect a trash can at your site and a water spigot is at the restrooms. Also there is no cellular service at the campgrounds. Other than that, we had a great time and we loved site 3! It was just enough space for the two of us and the campsite is beautiful. There are trails you can take to visit the creek. I would recommend!

Amaya is delightfully "back in there" and in the foggy misty redwoods. It is reasonably close to the Soquel Demo Forest, which is why I chose it. Beyond that, not too much to recommend it. The bathrooms were kinda grim; there's no other amenities or hikes or views, and you're not that far from the other sites (although not unreasonably close, either). A step up from crashing at a pullout, to be sure, but not a big step.

At first we had a wonderful experience camp was good , bathrooms were a bit far but trails were beautiful and the view was beautiful .It was fine until my friends went to the restroom for the 2nd time that afternoon, unsure who the camper was but he said he was camped next to the restroom but he kept asking my friends boyfriend questions when he was waiting for my friend outside the women’s bathroom, the unknown camper was wondering what car we had and how many people we were with and what camp area we got, we felt uneasy with that, the third time came to use the restroom this time all four of us went , my friends boyfriend waited outside since he felt uneasy with the experience from before, then the camper began speaking to my friends boyfriend again. The whole night we felt uneasy about the situation and we stayed up.luckily we packed up early the following day. Was wishing there was some sort of staff staying there just in case situations like this happens. The campsite was beautiful and I would go again but with more people and if there was some sort of staff especially after that experience.

A beautiful cluster of campsites in a sloped valley. <3 Site 9 didn't have much flat ground, but if you don't mind sleeping on a bit of an incline and like being surrounded by redwoods, it's a nice spot.

This site was great and had two really good spots for tents. Being able to park right next to the site was great. Would recommend bug spray/mosquito repellent for the evenings as I was getting demolished. Good site and chill drive with my 2 wheel drive sedan

Overall I liked the campground. My spot was above the group camp who was super loud late into the night, not the host’s fault, but there’s no staff onsite to regulate that, unfortunately. I think the sites to the east would be better suited for quieter evenings as they are tucked away. Everything feels a little run down but it accomplishes what I needed which was a place to spend the night under the redwoods on short notice.

Such a lovely campground! I was only able to stay a night, but of what I saw it was really great. Easy to find and to drive into my site. I got to at least walk down the little trail to the creek, and it was magical. I could’ve sat at the creek for hours. I definitely recommend:)
