Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! There were many beautiful hands put their energies into each cobbin here and we built it with Love a lot of love and your comfort in mind! This property is best experienced by couples from Friday - Sunday and Familys during the week only. This allows for a fun environment for everyone and dedicated family time as well as quite time. We made our decision based on our love to create an inspiration for arts and creating beautiful buildings using materials that you can find around you such as pallets, clay, sands, straws, etc. Everything is made out of non toxic materials, we even made our own paint out of cooking flours! Being inside these cob buildings feels like being in the womb of Mother Earth: the scent, the calm, the grounding, etc. The woods come from one of our properties and we milled them ourselves. We upcycle almost everything: The tree barks, the branches, even the furnitures were secured from non-profit organizations. We'd like you to come to be inspired! One of the buildings is there as a demonstration site till its done and we'll have the cob builder to be there to show you around. Cob working party is held by a master cob builder. We made your Camping and Glamping experience easy. We provide clean showers, restrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, barbecue, fridge, freezer, popcorn kettles, , utensils, plates, bowls, mugs, coffee maker, pots and pans, cutleries, etc. Yes, there is hot water as well with no coins needed. The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside. The amenities are: Outdoor kitchen, 2 fire pits, outdoor showers and bathrooms, electricity in each cobin, Board games, Yard Games, dog park and an outdoor library for little ones to grown ups. In Winter 2026 we'll add sauna and outdoor tubs for warm winter experience. 5 nights at Splitrock Farm and Retreat

TL;DR I loved it, great way to ease yourself into camping and very fun for a solo trip. The drive out is difficult and deep in the mountains. Narrow dirt roads. The camper was awesome. Comfortable bed, kitchenette is fully stocked with silverware and cookware. No problems with the bathroom and water supply. The fridge is not very good. It's supposed to be propane-powered, but I had to ask the host to pack it with ice repeatedly. And I had problems with power. The host was kind enough to provide a replacement battery, but the battery didn't stay charged throughout the night. And in case the listing doesn't make it obvious, this is part of a larger property with a farm and plenty of goats. It was very funny to see a herd of goats walking through my campsites one morning. Very cool. Also be careful of ants. Ants have a tendency to swarm the trash, and they got into my car. I was there for a solo trip, and I drove out every day to do things in San Diego. It was too hot during the day to stay in the camper. But the nights were comfortable.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Campo Nopalito, such an amazing glamping site! Set on a gorgeous, peaceful 15-acre organic farm, it is a true hidden gem with six charming cabins, and an amazing tent (already set up) with a fire pit, table and chairs, and a peaceful hammock. The amenities are absolutely top-notch. You get the perfect blend of nature, and comfort with potable water, flushing toilets, and an outdoor shower that is truly the best experience ever! There is also a fantastic full kitchen, and an incredible outdoor pizza oven that makes cooking an amazing experience. What truly sets this place apart; however, are the hosts. They are exceptionally helpful, kind, and accommodating, going above, and beyond to ensure a perfect stay. If you want a tranquil escape with unmatched hospitality, this is the absolute best place to stay. Five stars all around! 2 nights at The Secret Gardens by the Bay

Loved the experience of camping on the land. The property is a labor of love. Every detail was carefully thought out. The location was great; I purchased a day pass for the state parks. My son and I visited multiple beaches and the redwoods. I did not feel like I was on top of or next to strangers because the layout of the secret garden allowed us to find privacy when we wanted it and community when we desired.

Weekend Trip to The Hobbit Hideout

Oh my gosh, I can’t say enough good things. The cobbin’s are gorgeous and very comfortable, the interior decor is so cute - it smelt gloriously of wood walking in, and there was even grass growing on the roof 🤌!!! The fire pits were luxurious, and had even been setup to be easy to light (we pre-paid for a bundle of firewood), and there was so much spare kindling prepared that it wouldn’t have been hard to setup anyway. We sat by the fire and roasted marshmallows / made smores with the available supplies (all included), and stared at the stars - incredible!! There were 4 groups staying in camp including us and we all had plenty of space, but the area felt homey and community minded. The outdoor kitchen is super well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The communal showers and bathroom were really comfortable, the ‘skylight’/wooden floor nature of showers in particular was wonderful. The hosts were contactable and super helpful. Honestly cannot recommend highly enough, have recommended to all my friends and would come back!!

We had an awesome stay! The hosts were friendly, the farm animals were so cute, and there was an adorable cat as well. The shed was clean and comfortable and we slept well, and the facilities were really nice. We would definitely recommend!

We loved this little house. It was super cozy and the setting was beautiful. Has everything you need. Really enjoyed the outdoor space with campfire and table. We were a little disoriented coming in late in the dark, but obvious once we figured it out. We would love to come back.

Weekend Trip to Dreamy California Coast Airstreams

I booked this Airstream for my husband's birthday getaway, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. The views of the Half Moon Bay coastline were absolutely gorgeous, especially at sunset. Even though there were neighboring sites, it still felt surprisingly private and peaceful. One of our favorite moments was watching a few deer casually prance by outside. It made the whole experience feel even more special. The Airstream itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's not the kind of place where you'll find a long list of activities nearby, but that's honestly the beauty of it. It's the perfect place to unplug, slow down, enjoy the quiet, and simply be present. If you're looking for a peaceful escape with stunning ocean views and a chance to recharge, I highly recommend staying here. We'd definitely come back!

We had a great time at Guido and Emily's place. The trailer was really cute and cosy and had everything we needed. We loved hanging out under the willows and slept well in the comfy bed . Guido showed us around and gave us some advice about canoeing on the Estero which was a fun adventure. They were relaxed, generous hosts.

Excellent stay in Watsonville. Close to Santa Cruz and lots of fun stuff. Very peaceful and private. Bathrooms were cleanest I have seen and very well organized. I will come back again.
