We are a 5 acre property and home surrounded by tall redwood and oak trees. Very green and lots of shade. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks. There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding. THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. CHECK OUT OUR NEW LODGING: This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area. CAMPGROUND GUIDELINES Pack out your trash. Rinse feet before using the pool. No pool toys or floaties. Always supervise kids. Don’t sit on chair edges or pool cover box. Use stumps or your own table for cooking (not ours). Keep the area clean—no food scraps on the ground. No dogs in the pool area; leashes and cleanup required. No eating in rooms or cabin. Check out on the deck. No smoking (vapes only, away from common areas). There were many beautiful hands put their energies into each cobbin here and we built it with Love, charities and your comfort in mind! We made our decision based on our love to create an inspiration for arts and creating beautiful buildings using materials that you can find around you such as pallets, clay, sands, straws, etc. Everything is made out of non toxic materials, we even made our own paint out of cooking flours! Being inside these cob buildings feels like being in the womb of Mother Earth: the scent, the calm, the grounding, etc. The woods come from one of our properties and we milled them ourselves. We upcycle almost everything: The tree barks, the branches, even the furnitures were secured from non-profit organizations. We'd like you to come to be inspired! One of the buildings is there as a demonstration site till its done and we'll have the cob builder to be there to show you around. Cob working party is held by a master cob builder. We made your Camping and Glamping experience easy. We provide clean showers, restrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, barbecue, fridge, freezer, popcorn kettles, , utensils, plates, bowls, mugs, coffee maker, pots and pans, cutleries, etc. Yes, there is hot water as well with no coins needed. The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside. The amenities are: Outdoor kitchen, 2 fire pits, outdoor showers and bathrooms, electricity in each cobin, Board games, Yard Games, dog park and an outdoor library for little ones to grown ups. In Winter 2026 we'll add sauna and outdoor tubs for warm winter experience. Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

Gene’s property is so incredible! We loved dipping in the creek and the short walk to the beach which seemed really private, and the communal kitchen and the shower area really stood out to us. The cabana felt private and tucked away which I really enjoyed, there were several other groups around during our stay but it never felt crowded and we had no problems using the listed amenities. I thought I’d be comfortable using the composting toilets but now I know for the future it’s not something that is very easy for me, we ended up visiting the bathroom on the beach a lot so I’m glad that’s an option. The cabana isn’t screened in so we had a lot of insect visitors, definitely something to note if you’re not comfortable with spiders and bugs! The bed was pretty comfortable and there’s a hammock right next to the cabana that was nice to lay in. I was really happy with our stay overall, Gene and his family we’re so sweet and helpful if you have any questions, but generally left us alone and we only saw them a few times during our stay. I’d love to come back another time! It was really romantic, I’d try tent camping next time with a larger group.

This is such a special place. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The cabin is so cozy with great touches like a cool private little kitchen, and fun lights, heater, nice mattress. The property is also amazing with beautiful trees, orchard and easy to understand signage. Host was friendly and so helpful. Would stay here again!!

Nicely setup with camp sites to fit most everyone's needs whether you're after a tent site or shelter & amenities. Lovely and helpful host, easy recommendation. Feels like you're remote with quiet sites, but coffee shops are within a mile as is the beach and seals & otters. Fog and cold was a nice break from oppressive heat in the valley, we had a great time.

Had a wonderfully amazing and relaxing time with my dog and my wife! Jacob's land is gorgeous, his sites are placed just far enough away that you get some pretty nice privacy. The views are great, the shower is on point, and the kitchen has everything you could ask for! Jacob is a stellar host, he even took some time to teach us how to work the wood oven. Looking forward to come back here again!

Nopalito farms is amazing. I would book a stay here again and again. I definitely recommend Squirrel Cabana and Eureka Casita specifically. Gertie, the local dog there is very friendly; doesn’t miss greeting all guests esp in the morning. Jacob is a wonderful host, very responsive and available to answer queries and address concerns. I specifically like their bathrooms— very clean and very comfortable. 10/10 for the kitchen which has everything you’ll ever need including spices, salt/pepper (just bring food to cook) & shower with open concept + amazing hot/cold water. We had a peaceful and wonderful stay!

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito

Campo Nopalito is great. My wife, toddler and I stayed in the Coyote cabin for a night and really liked it. It's not the most remote, deep in nature site, but we still got to be in the outdoors away from the city, and without the type of planning, packing and long drive that goes into more wilderness tent camping. We do love the remote tent camping experience, too, but it comes with trade offs - like having to reserve a decade in advance and not the most comfy sleep. At Campo Nopalito, it was nice to sit around a campfire making smores at night, and then rolling into our very comfortable bed in the open sky. That and not having to pack a lot of the camping essentials (like cookware and toiletries), having access to a refrigerator, etc. made for a much more simple trip. We didn't rough it off the grid but still got to get away from the usual noise for a bit. We would do it, again, and stay more than a night. Jacob was wonderful, and his co-host, Gertie the farmdog, was always coming to check in on us to make sure we were all good!

Weekend Trip to The Secret Gardens by the Bay

Absolutely amazing experience! From start to end hosts are super sweet, helpful, and communicative! I’m so happy we came across that place and my friend recommended about it! It’s a beautiful unique spot. I’ve never experienced anything like that in the United States. The fireplaces are just top notch. The community kitchen is super rich with amenities and coffee and such. I would absolutely stay in this place any time. I’m in the area in a heartbeat. They’re helpful sweet they will accommodate whatever you need to suit your needs. I absolutely love secret garden. This is a really unique and unusual surprise. We came across.

3 nights at Bayside Cabin

The Bayside cabin was perfect for my anniversary getaway. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was warm and cozy with the indoor fireplace. I love an outdoor shower, especially when the water is piping warm too. We woke up each morning to the beautiful natural environment of the PNW and enjoyed a cup of coffee from the French press by the fireside. It was also great being so close to Arcata town center... We enjoyed the spa/sauna at Finnish country along with cool thrift/record stores and lots of great places to eat.

1 night at The Secret Gardens by the Bay

This is a real gem. The campground is so beautifully nestled on a forested hillside with unique cabins and cozy common seating areas, kitchen restrooms and showers. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly.
