The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake. On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink. Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. This 10 acre property is located on the coastal ridge, often above the fog. You will be on the Pacific plate looking across to the North American plate, looking down on the San Andreas fault! In the winter months, it can provide a peaceful retreat and often dramatic storm watching. Peaceful, security-gated property with a campsite for RV's/tent camping for maximum of 6, and the charming, rustic, Pickle Barrel cabin for 2 is available. You can book either one or both. Either way, you will have the entire site for your stay. Outside wood campfires are allowed unless there is a fire ban, propane fire pits are allowed year round. Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!! We also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Please note that as of spring 2021 we no longer have as many animals. Because of the drought feed prices are too high.

Absolutely recommend it. The cabin we chose is the most expensive, but that was absolutely worth it. We’ve had too many rainy days in this cabin, and that was an absolutely cozy experience with firewood in the stove and rain outside the cabin. Super secluded. For the entire stay, we didn’t see anyone. We didn’t hear anyone. There were no cellular connections, but that was actually a good part of this trip. Absolutely recommend and would definitely stay there again.

The land is breathtaking! The trip up from Gualala is on a normal, every day paved road that takes you up a winding mountain, and then once entering the property its not far to the cabin so it doesn't seem like it would be a problem for most vehicles in any weather. The cabin is perched at the top of a hill that overlooks a wooded valley. It is SO peaceful, quiet, and green! The redwoods crackle in the wind and the leaves rustle and it's just a quiet piece of legit paradise only 13ish mins from civilization (which was important for firewood re-stocking, it was COLD up there, which made for perfect fire pit weather!)

I had an absolutely wonderful stay here and can’t say enough about how special this space feels. From the moment you walk down the pathway toward the cabin, something shifts — your nervous system immediately settles and you feel yourself slowing down in the best possible way. The setting is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by beautiful trees and nature, and the entire space invites you to return to a simpler, more grounded rhythm. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the outdoor kitchen and shower. Preparing meals outside while looking out over the trees, hearing the wind move through the forest, and heating the cabin with wood in the evenings made the stay feel intentional and restorative. It’s a rare place where you naturally disconnect from noise and reconnect with the basics — good food, fresh air, and quiet. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with all the essential supplies, along with a small fridge that made longer stays easy and comfortable. A cooler and barbecue are also available upon request, which adds to the flexibility of cooking and enjoying meals outdoors. Guests should plan to bring their own linens and toiletries, which is clearly communicated and fits well with the simple, back-to-basics nature of the stay. The mattress was also extremely comfortable — something that made restful sleep come easily after full days outside. We needed a spot to stop overnight on a road trip. The Mushroom cabin was just the right price and size for our overnight trip. The hosts were helpful with directing us. We had a rainy, windy evening during our stay but the tiny bit mighty cabin kept us safe and warm. The little electric heater provided goes a long way.
