There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”. Ask us about the story!

Our 220 remote acres are adjacent to Shasta Trinity National Forest in the beautiful Cascade Range between Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in Northern California. It's a working ranch with tree farms, animals, hydroelectric power, sawmill, gardens, orchards, creeks, springs, trails, and our camp alongside Kosk Creek. We're 54 miles from Redding off of 299E, (about 1-1/2 hour drive). DO NOT TAKE ROAD 11 FROM THE NORTH, IT IS CLOSED! PIease try to ignore the "car art" in the Pit River Tribe's Rancheria as you're coming here. Drive right through it, it's no reflection on us. The last mile or so of the road here can be pretty rough, but on arrival, you'll know it's worth the trip! No Cell phone service available here, so it's the perfect opportunity to unplug. We do have a land line up at the house in case of an emergency. Also, if you really need it, WiFi is available at the house.

Our organic vegetables and fruit may be available if you wish to bring some of our farm to your table. We can offer you a quiet and peaceful place without social pressures if you wish to "decompress" from city life, jobs or any stressful times. Or come to the communal fire near the bathhouse for sharing some time with family and the few other campers that may be there. Bringing your own wood is welcome. The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Wishing you a very peaceful and soul refreshing stay at Meadow Farm. Come and allow this natural setting to heal and restore your sense of well-being.

We absolutely loved our stay at Torry’s casita and were already planning our next visit before we left! From the moment we booked through Hipcamp, Torry was incredibly responsive, kind, and happy to answer all of my questions. Her directions made arrival easy, and everything was clearly marked. This was my husband and my first camping trip together, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed—it truly felt like a home away from home. The thoughtful touches, comfortable beds, great A/C with individual room controls, and extra blanketsmade our stay so cozy. The private pool was sparkling clean, and every seating area was perfectly placed to enjoy the peaceful mountain views. We also loved the grill, the outdoor fire pit, the pet-friendly atmosphere, and outdoor games like horseshoes, corn hole, and Connect 4. Every detail reflected the care Torry puts into her guests’ experience. These three days gave us memories we’ll cherish for years to come. We can’t wait to come back!

3 nights at Heartwood Mendocino

Beautiful spot! We had a lovely time. Owners Khamoor and Tim are super lovely people as well. There is soap in the shower for washing your body, but bring shampoo/conditioner. It’s a communal fire pit near the camp kitchen, which we had not experienced before. We were used to having our own fire pit at campgrounds but it ended up being super awesome because we made friends with the two other families there and our children played together and we shared the fire and did smores together. We never had an experience like that at a campground! It gets very misty out there so the tables will probably be wet when you wake up in the morning so maybe bring a towel to dry stuff off. The no WiFi and hardly any cell service was good for us too. We went on the Skunk Train which was great too. Princess Seafood in the Harbor is super fresh seafood. The site is 10 minutes from the village of Mendocino. We will be back. Very kid friendly, lots of room for them to run around and be free. Thank you Khamoor and Tim!

Nicely setup with camp sites to fit most everyone's needs whether you're after a tent site or shelter & amenities. Lovely and helpful host, easy recommendation. Feels like you're remote with quiet sites, but coffee shops are within a mile as is the beach and seals & otters. Fog and cold was a nice break from oppressive heat in the valley, we had a great time.

We don’t usually glamp but having 2 seniors dogs makes tent camping hard. This really made it easier and safer for them. This is a gem of a place and we really enjoyed our stay. We are seasoned campers so we brought our own kitchen box to cook at the site and a hammock for relaxing. I recommend bringing a folding wagon to take your stuff up to the spot. It’s not a haul in anyway but the wagon was helpful.

Stop looking! This is your sign to book this place! We stayed at Cabin 2 to celebrate my hubby’s birthday with our dogs! It has everything that we need! We would definitely back!Cabin 2 has electricity and has privacy even if it’s close to Cabin 1 but just FYI, it is beside the chicken coop and chickens do come out few times daily if you are bringing pets!We brought leash and leash line for our dogs and it worked out perfectly! It is close to the toilet and water source and they are also always clean. The cabin is kinda of in a higher level so make sure to bring a wagon that you can wheel down to the river. It is not too far but if you are bringing stuff and food, it will be nice to have a wagon. All of these notes and tips are given by the owners anyways so make sure to read! Lol! The river and swimming hole are amazing! This is a paradise! We stayed by the river most of the time and me, my hubby and our dogs had so much fun and had a blast just swimming, paddleboarding and being under the sun and the cool water! The river is not too deep or there are lots of spots that are not deep so it will be great if u have kids and/or dogs. The owners are also nice and they have the sweetest kids and the sweetest dog! They are always so respectful, friendly and cheerful. The owner even gave us some fruits from their trees. It’s such a quiet, clean, beautiful and perfect place for a quiet, private getaway. Please don’t ruin it and clean up after yourself if you will be visiting! Lol!

We loved our stay at Baby Banana Slug Farm! Cute little Sunset Cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The water was piping hot in the shower and the bed was soft and cozy. The drive to Mendocino was not bad, and fun to explore. Highly recommend!

We absolutely love this place. It was a nice to get away and spend time relaxing by the fire, cooking, watching our kids hunt for all the best bugs. This has been my favorite trip ever and will be back

Weekend Trip to Cosumnes River Somerset Camp

Staying at this location was such a delight! The cabins were so cute and the facilities were well equipped. The river was absolutely spectacular! Noleen was also a super accommodating host.

Ramada in the Trees. Screen porch with 28' trailer inside. Communal kitchen, bath, picnic area in the back.

Really nice quiet camp with alot of outdoor activities for children. Hot springs down the road are a really nice addition. THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE ANYWHERE AROUND, PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
