Amy is a 10 star host! My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend at Amy's cabin. Amy has created a charming cabin in a lovely serene setting on her property. The bed was oh so comfortable and warm cozy blankets were available for the cool of the summer mountain evening! The amenities were great with a shower (A+water pressure), indoor flush toilet, coffee maker, and frig/freezer. Amy, Thank you for preserving a small piece of the past with this little cabin and sharing it with us!

We had a great time here! The private river access was amazing and the bed and cabin were so cozy. The propane grill was a huge plus. It was very secluded and private which was excellent. Definitely a weekend to remember. Thanks for letting us stay, Joshua!

Trent was very helpful and provided us with everything we needed, unfortunately our trip was cut short because of our cat but for the one night we had on site it was beautiful and peaceful. I believe there is an airport nearby so you might hear airplanes here and there but besides that everything was perfect.

Gorgeous stay! The property is peaceful, quiet and so lush. Lots of signs with directions, easy access to the porta-potty, and a sink with potable water. The cabin is very cute and comfortable 🩷 we opted to get the extra bedding with pillows and it was totally worth it. The river access is lovely. We also enjoyed the picnic table, the fire pi,t and the little lamps available inside the cabin. We would love to come back with friends next time!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary

Tyla's tiny cabin was a perfect home base for our hiking holiday weekend! The large king size bed was great, and the hot shower at the end of a long day outside was a luxury. The toilets were kept clean all weekend. We could hear the neighboring sites here and there but all of our fellow campers were very respectful so the noise never disrupted our peaceful stay. It was so relaxing taking a post-hike nap with the sun streaming in the cabin windows, falling asleep to the birdsong and goats bleating and the rooster crowing. The path up to the cabin felt steep after a long day on your feet but it was worth it for the additional privacy. The space was intimate but just big enough for two adults, our medium sized dog, and all of our hiking gear. Highly recommended as a base camp for your outdoor adventures!

Weekend Trip to Justesen Ranches

Great place, super clean. It also happens to be outside of Portland's horrible light pollution, giving fabulous Milky Way views. The biggest downsides are that there isn't an A/C (which is mentioned in the property's listing) and the outside floodlight does not have a switch accessible to turn it off. FYI - There is a taxidermied deer head on the wall, which is shown in the pics. There are many wonderful things about this place - starting with the location. If you want to be away from people with great views of the sky then you will love this place. The kitchen is well stocked, the bathroom and shower are very clean. The queen bed isn't bad at all and the kitchen is well stocked. I imagine if all the bunks were filled with people it would be pretty snug in there. There is a small TV with Dish. Finally Verizon cell service is bad inside the cabin, but outside we got a good 4G signal. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return.

AMAZING!! Such a special place, and well taken care of. WE WERE ALSO well taken care of. I can’t say enough about this spot, we are coming back annually or biannually cos it’s just so perfect. Enjoyed collecting veggies from the greenhouse and eggs from the chickens. Dogs roamed free with us, trails were private and the hillbilly HOT TUB 🔥

Weekend Trip to Retired DNR Fire Watch Cabin

A very comfortable stay, with thoughtful amenities provided. A hot shower, fridge, and bathroom are provided in a separate building close to the cabin. We tried Mt. Adam’s pizza and loved it!We paid for wood and it was provided. Water is available, bring a water jug to fill up. Amy, the host answered any questions we had. The WiFi is pretty spotty, but there is service closer to the bathroom. The view of Mt. Adam’s is spectacular!

My dog Helen and I had a wonderful getaway at Amy's Hipcamp cabin! The property is remote enough to unwind, yet close enough to grab a delicious burger and fries a few miles away. The Trout lake hike is nearby and a lovely hike. The cabin is fantastic! So cozy, especially with the gas stove. Amy thoughtfully provides an array of items that guests may need in the cabin and kitchen/bathroom area. The bed, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable, which is not always the case with rentals. I made a fire in the fire pit and read for hours until the sun went down... so relaxing! We were visited by two deer, a family of cows, lots of birds, and a sky full of stars. When we awoke in the morning we were greeted by a GORGEOUS view of Mt. Adams that was obscured by clouds the previous day- WOW. I highly recommend staying at Little Mountain cabin- I am already looking forward to another stay, perhaps in the winter (according to the guest book comments it is especially dreamy in the snow).

We were on a roadtrip and this little cabin was the perfect stop! We had a campfire, lovely views, a propane stove for food, and a very comfortable bed. We even spotted a calf and his mom spying at us from behind the cabin (there is some agricultural land around the property). A very lovely stay!

Trent has truly thought of everything with this cabin! His attention to detail and his dedication to his guest's comfort is unmatched. We spent a relaxing rainy weekend here walking around the property, soaking in the tub, playing cards, and listening to records. Our dog had so much fun that we couldn't get her back into the car to leave! Trent had everything we needed and more, which made for a low stress weekend.

All of the cabins feature new and very comfortable queen-sized beds, and all come with their own BBQ grill. Rustic propane fire places have been installed in each cabin along with air conditioning units to make sure our guests are warm and cozy on the coldest winter nights as well as cool and comfortable on those hot summer days. Parking is ample within steps of each of the cabins and is more than big enough to fit snowmobile trailers, horse trailers, RVs, or any other toys you may want to bring along for your trip. Trout Lake Cozy Cabins was formerly known as Serenity's, named after the restaurant that sat on the property. The Restaurant burned down a number of years ago. Since the restaurant building was rebuilt, we have been excited to have Mt. Adams Pizza on our property for the last 4 years. There are also a number of places to eat within a mile of the cabins including Mount Adams Pizza, the Trout Lake Hall, Post Office Coffee, and the Station Cafe. The Mount Adams Ranger District is a great resource for additional information about the area and recreational activities. Of course, having grown up in the area, we are always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a "local's" tip/suggestions. Don't be shy, we are very friendly people and will go out of our way to make sure you have a memorable stay with us!

Marmot House is a lush 13 acres of mostly old growth forest in the foothills of Mt. Hood, right on the Historic Oregon Trail. It is close to hiking, biking, and forested waterfalls a short drive away. We have beautiful short hikes on trails in our forest on the property. World class windsurfing 30 miles away in Hood River, as well as more amazing waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. The Sandy River recreation area is just up the road from us and we are 10 mins. from The Sandy Ridge Trail with its 17 miles of mountain bike trails. Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing! The is not a developed campground, it is our home. We see ourselves as stewards of this hidden forest gem and welcome people to enjoy its beauty. We are avid campers and recently spend 9 months in our teardrop trailer off grid on public lands. Living here we are three family members, one renter and short term volunteer traveler workers. We all work from home, Arehn a spiritual life coach, who loves to cook, Jim a software engineer and disc golfer, son Ian, software engineer and writer and Zuzu, forest fire fighter and logger lives in a separate apartment on the property.

All sites have shared access to hot showers, portable toilets, and potable water next to Outdoor kitchen and dinning area. Guests love staying with us; "Brenda's property is fantastic. We had a gathering of friends for a long weekend on this property (rented the cabin too) and had the best time. Having the creek to splash around in, warm running water for showers and washing dishes, trails to explore, and the delivery of fresh produce and eggs from the property far exceeded our expectations. Brenda is the best host - she answered all my questions quickly and was very generous with our group. Definitely recommend!"

There is a full bathroom and amenities to include fridge, microwave, coffee pot and air fryer just a short walk away! Dishes are not included and cooking utensils are very limited. Winter sports galore up here right now! Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ample parking for snow mobile trailers! OR bring your favorite book and come enjoy a peaceful restful weekend! Springtime is a gorgeous time of year up here and turkey season is a favorite! Ample room for boats/trailers if you are considering hitting Drano lake for some springer salmon fishing! It is apx 30 minutes away. In the summertime come up and enjoy the hiking! Sleeping Beauty trail is just a few minutes away and you are within 30 minutes or Hood River if you are looking to explore and check out wineries. There are cheese caves, ice caves, Goose Lake, Council Lake and so much more! Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Hood River fishery has been amazing and the fall colors can't be beat! There is a fire pit and campfires are welcome when there is not a burn ban. Trout Lake Inn is a local favorite up here and check their Facebook to see what live entertainment they have coming up. Pets are welcome - please make sure they are well behaved and are kept close to the cabin. I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area. Come enjoy the mountain air - it is good for the soul! **No parties - limit of 2 adult guests and up to 2 children. No illegal drugs. No smoking or vaping inside cabin or the bathroom/hospitality room.

Promontory Park stands out as a unique camping destination due to its charming blend of 1950s design and natural beauty, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Open for reservations from the Friday before Memorial Day through the second weekend in September, this Oregon campground features a marina complete with a boat launch, although it does not offer barrier-free campsites. Campers can secure their spots online starting the first business day in January at 8 a.m. For those preferring to book by phone or email, reservations can be made beginning the first business day in March at 8 a.m. It’s important to note that while the campground has undergone renovations, it retains its nostalgic charm, with narrow, winding roads and sites best suited for tents or compact camping units. Nestled into the landscape, the campground features sites carved into hillsides, overlooking the reservoir and surrounded by impressive boulders. Some campsites are closely situated, making them ideal for friends camping together, while others offer more privacy for those seeking solitude. Promontory Park is truly a distinctive campground that breaks the mold of traditional camping experiences. In the northern reaches of Oregon's Cascade Range, about an hour’s drive from Portland, Mt. Hood has long been a popular spot for Portlanders in search of easy access to the great outdoors, offering skiing, sledding, and snowboarding in the cooler months of the year. Mt. Hood and the surrounding area is almost as popular come summertime, offering a warm-season alpine slide, multiple mountain lakes, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.
