The property is 17 acres of enchanted forestland with 300ft of Sandy River frontage. Both sides of the river are part of the Enchanted Forest. Please note that all campsites are not accessible by vehicle and do involve a short walk from the parking area. Therefore, RV's/campers, rooftop tents, and camper vans are not ideal for this property. Bring your paddle board or kayak to enjoy the river (Dependent on river level/current strength) The property is located within 2 miles from the Sandy Ridge Mountain bike trails and Barlow Wayside hiking trails. It's approximately 20 minutes to Government camp, ~ 35 minutes to Timberline for skiing and biking and an additional ~ 15 minutes to Mt. Hood Meadows. Approximately 50 min to PDX airport, and 1 hour to downtown Portland.

Please note that all campsites are not accessible by vehicle and do involve a short walk from the parking area. Therefore, RV's/campers, rooftop tents, and camper vans are not ideal for this property. Tent sites are about a 4-5 minute walk from the vehicle parking area and includes a small hill. The camping area is private but other campsites are approximately 150 feet apart. This campsite can hold approximately 4 tents. There is a wheelbarrow and cart available to transport gear in/out of the campsite. The parking area also includes the porto potty, washing station, potable water, and garbage disposal area. The campsite includes a picnic table. While the campsite is directly on the river, the access to the river at the site is rocky. Add ons include: propane fire pit (fuel included), wood for campfire (outside of fire ban season) Horsetails are abundant, it is recommended to bring a tarp to lay under your tent. This campsite is slightly different than the other campsites on the premises. This campsite is the furthest from the parking area with an approximately 8 minute walk from your vehicle to the camp site. Tent camping is not located right on the river's edge. It is located slightly inland, however, this campsite still has its own private access to the river. The river access for this campsite is near some rapids so you will get the great river sounds. The camping area is private but please note that there may be other guests in campsites that are approximately 150 feet apart. There is a wheelbarrow and cart available to transport gear in/out of the campsite. The parking area also includes the porto potty, washing station, potable water, and garbage disposal area. The campsite includes a picnic table. Please note that the access to the river at the site is rocky. Welcome to the Enchanted Forest cabin. This rustic cabin is approximately 4 minutes walking distance from the parking area which does include a small hill. There is a wheelbarrow to use as a shuttle for your belongings if needed. The parking area also includes the porto potty, washing station, potable water, and garbage disposal area. The cabin is on the Sandy river with a private sandy beach for enjoyment. The cabin is 12 x14 ft with a king size bed and fitted sheet. Inside is a small bistro table with two chairs. Outside there is a picnic table near the BBQ and 4 chairs to relax near the river. The cabin reservation includes the BBQ (with side burner) and propane for use to prepare meals. You can add "extras" to your reservation to customize the experience you want. Add ons include: propane fire pit (fuel included), wood for campfire (outside of fire ban season), bedding, or an indoor propane heater if it will be cold during your reservation. Fun fact: The drive way access from Marmot Rd to the parking spot is part of the original Oregon Trail and is preserved by the Bureau of Land Management. You can: Fish, kayak or paddle board on the river. Very private and exclusive river access.

One of the best camping experiences I've had ! I ended up booking the next day. Easy to navigate to, safe feeling environment and overall just a great stay. Would absolutely recommend !

Great spot by the river! Be prepared to trek down a hill with your stuff and then get to relax next to the sound of the bubbling Sandy River. Glad they had carts but definitely not the spot for anyone with bad knees or unable to wrangle a cart down a decent slope. The sites are clean and spacious with wonderful tent spots. I recommend renting the propane fire pit, propane stove, and kitchen bin to enjoy warmth and cooking with ease. The sounds of the river blend with the traffic so that you feel you’ve escaped but know you’re not too far from civilization. Great hiking nearby as well as the quaint city of Sandy which is filled with cute shops and delicious sounding restaurants.

We loved our time here at the cabin! It's peaceful and feels secluded except for the highway noise (which is just what it is, can't help that!). I love that it is right on the river with its own private beach. There is a picnic table, grill, chairs and even a propane charcoal fireplace. Joshua the owner had thoughtful additions like a hose for dish washing, a recycling box and a can recycling spot right at he site. The walking trails are labeled and there is even a fire extinguisher at a central location between the cabin and camp spots. Its a beautiful location and you could tell it was thoughtfully planned as a camp spot. I loved having the wheel barrows to help us set up camp, too. The only cons I would say would be the highway noise and the steep walk down to the sites. It's super nice to have Porta potties by the parking spots and it makes sense to have them there to routinely clean. But it is a walk to get there lol. But there are lights along the way which is very nice. Over all a beautiful area and a relaxing trip was had! Ty, Joshua

My partner and I loved staying here. The site is gorgeous and right on the river. There is definitely a little walk to the sites but Joshua helped us move our tents and supplies with his ATV and trailer. Plus there are carts and a wheelbarrow for moving in and out of the sites. The paths are clearly marked with motion detection lights that illuminate the path at night. Even though all the sites were booked for our weekend we never heard and rarely saw the other campers. It was a very relaxing and magical experience for us and we intend to rent again for a larger family trip next year.

Great camping grounds. Enjoyed the accessibility of the river from the cabin. Very private from the other campsites and my two dogs also enjoyed getting in the water. Would definitely book again.

It's was so beautiful and secluded. We only saw 1 other person while we were there. There were motion sensor lights leading to the cabin, a good size tent space that was included, the propane fire was lovely, and it was really great that wagons were provided to take things down to the cabin. Direct water access was amazing

This place is freaking magical. Tucked away, so it feels like a true getaway. The drive in and the walk to the camp ground is so Bryan’s green you kind of feel like you’re walking through Jurassic Park. I highly recommend and hope to make it back.

I had a peaceful time tent camping on Joshua’s land! It was quiet and restful. Within a short drive to a variety of hikes and areas to explore. It felt really private and the river was beautiful. There were many personal touches to make this property easy to enjoy and appreciate. Be careful loading up the cart, as there is a hill that is steep at first and if it’s too heavy it can almost take you out! ◡̈

This was an absolutely magical fairy wonderland! Immediate access to the river and the little path in was delightful too. It’s a bit of a trek so pack light! The wagons were especially appreciated!

This is without a doubt, my new favorite place to camp! As long as you don’t mind not having running water at your campsite, this place is incredible. Private campsites, incredible river access and all around beautiful and restful. The host was so helpful and accommodating. Everything about our stay was perfect. We’ll be back!

Our first Hipcamp experience. The actual campsite (site B) was beautiful - large, level, shaded, and a great view of the river. The other reviews mentioning the walk down are not wrong - it is a bit of a walk. However, my kids loved running around the trails so it ended up being a highlight. The one thing that was a bit of an unwelcome surprise was the highway noise.

After our original plan to camp at the beach was rained out, we found this spot near Mt Hood as an alternate, and we are SO lucky we did! The camp is remote but not too far from the highway, so day tripping outside Sandy was a breeze. We were able to hit up Mt Hood Meadows, see wild horses in Madras, and birdwatch to my heart’s content. Our teenage sons didn’t complain once, and we even got our 14 year old out into an inner tube on the river right at our campsite. The setup at Camp B was quite spacious, and we could have easily fit our 2 tents at Camp A, but we are happy we had the extra space to roam. Our camp host was great, left us on our own, but was very accommodating when we needed to check out late. Loved it!

Joshua’s land is beautiful! The cabin which we stayed in has its own private sandy beach river front which was amazing! Very beautiful and relaxing. The cabin was clean and very cute. The bed was very comfy. The cabin is rustic so it doesn’t have electricity but there were small lamps for light. Be prepared for a bit of a workout taking all your belongings down a steep hill in a wagon or wheel barrel.
