Great glamping experience! Had everything we needed! We stayed during early summer time, but would love to come check it out during the winter time! Cozy spot with great amenities! Host was helpful and friendly! Got to say hi to the cows too! I also popped the question here and it was a beautiful experience. She loved it!

The cabin is off to the side of the front of the property along a quiet country road, wedged between cow pastures and hilly ridges with trees and elk. The setup exceeded our expectations - warm, comfy, plenty of space, a gas stove for heat and a camp stove for cooking. Getting to hiking is close but not necessarily walkable - Trout Lake town with the ranger station for the National Park is a 10 min drive. Fridge and bathroom with shower a short walk from the cabin are a bonus. It’d be fun to visit again in spring or autumn.

The cabin was incredibly cozy. Even though it was below freezing outside for most of our trip the heater and blankets kept us super warm inside. Waking up to the cows and the mountains always felt amazing, and at night if the sky was clear so many stars were visible.

If being off grid isnt your cup of tea then this cabin probably isnt for you but we love it. One of our favoright things about staying here is that there is very little to no cell service and wifi only if you want to hook up to it. We love being off grid and having quality family time to interact with eachother with out the distractions of cell phones or tv. No power no problem for us! This is our favoright family get away spot by far.

Little Mountain Cabin
Absolutely stunning place to stay with tons to do close by. The cabin is extremely cozy and the place is completely secluded. We felt like we were the only ones there. The cabin and the bathroom/kitchen area was clean and stocked with the essentials (plates, fridge/freezer, shower, portable generator for the cabin, lamps, bbq and more). We caught a thunder storm on the last night of our stay and it was so relaxing. We’re excited to come back in the winter when it is snowing.

Overall we had a positive experience- the host had lots of things to make the stay enjoyable. It was 30 minutes from mt hood and about 15 away from the ice caves- a must see!
Although I would not go again in the summer months because of the cabin having most windows saying “do not open”, one small fan, and no other way of cooling down which made for an uncomfortable stay. The host did provide a portable battery which was very nice, so we had a fan going until it ran outta juice.
There were also dogs that would bark at our dog (although had E collars so couldn’t approach us) as well as the hosts house very close to the cabin.

The temp nearly hit 100 during the days I was supposed to stay and only two windows open so the cabin was waaay too hot for me to sleep in by the time I was getting ready to go to bed. No electricity so couldn't plug in a fan. But otherwise it was exactly what I was looking for and would've loved it had it not been for the unusually hot weather.

This adorable cabin was perfect for our romantic 33rd anniversary weekend of hiking and huckleberry picking. The bed is soft and comfortable, the cabin is rustic but homey. Comfortable chairs outside and a propane grill that saved us from having to pack our own. There a shower, bathroom and fridge about 25 yards away. A coffee maker, microwave and air fryer are there to use if you want to eat dinner in. Trout Lake is one of our favorite places to visit - we've been coming up every huckleberry season for the past 20 years -- now we have a new favorite place to stay!

Little Mountain Cabin
What a beautiful place for our family’s first night stay on our Pacific Northwest road trip! My husband, four year old daughter and I were amazed at the breathtaking scenery and perfectly comfortable in this tiny cabin. We arrived late afternoon early August, and the cabin was warm inside but cooled off nicely with the windows open at night. The bathroom and mini kitchen had everything we needed and were just a short walk away. We enjoyed good food and music at Trout Lake Hall, and the stargazing at night was unbelievable. What a special memory for our family. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us, Amy! Our only regret is not staying longer!!

Such a beautiful and cozy spot tucked into the mountain. We had gorgeous weather and were lucky enough to enjoy some of the lakes, rivers, and hikes in the area. I can't think of a better way we could have spent our anniversary. We will definitely be coming back!

The cabin was easy to get to and in a great location for nearby hikes (BZ falls and trout lake) or a quick trip to the grocery.
Having a bathroom, kitchen, and wifi just a short walk away was so nice as well.

Very cute cabin, clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom/kitchen area in the separate building. Very comfy bed. Incredible views of Mt Adams through the trees. Also very dark and quiet at night, we saw the milky way for the first time in ages thanks to no light pollution.

We loved our stay at Amy’s Trout Lake cabin. It was the perfect spot to spend a couple nights while we explored the area. So cute and clean! Having access to kitchen appliances and a full bathroom located in the back of their shop was a great addition. Amy’s messages and directions were detailed and included everything. Tried the pizza in town and the White Salmon Baking Co. for breakfast. Both were delicious!! Great location to stay at if you are white water rafting/kayaking on the White Salmon. Can’t wait to come back to the area! Thank you for providing such a wonderful lodging option.

A magical little cabin hidden in the woods like something out of an indie film.
Everything was clean, warm, and thoughtfully arranged — from the cozy bed to the perfect grill. The view? Unreal. You open the door and it feels like stepping into a peaceful painting. Quiet, authentic, slightly surreal.
I didn’t figure out the electricity switch, but honestly, I didn’t need it — the atmosphere itself had enough energy.
This place has soul. 10 out of 10.
Would’ve stayed longer if Oregon wasn’t calling me further west.
If you’re thinking of booking — don’t hesitate. It’s worth every cent. Like a scene from a story you haven’t written yet

We absolutely loved our stay at the little cabin. Would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to escape for a weekend and explore the Mt. Adams area. Lots of thoughtful and cute touches that make the stay lovely. We can’t wait to return!

Amy is a 10 star host! My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend at Amy's cabin. Amy has created a charming cabin in a lovely serene setting on her property. The bed was oh so comfortable and warm cozy blankets were available for the cool of the summer mountain evening! The amenities were great with a shower (A+water pressure), indoor flush toilet, coffee maker, and frig/freezer. Amy, Thank you for preserving a small piece of the past with this little cabin and sharing it with us!

A very comfortable stay, with thoughtful amenities provided. A hot shower, fridge, and bathroom are provided in a separate building close to the cabin.
We tried Mt. Adam’s pizza and loved it!We paid for wood and it was provided. Water is available, bring a water jug to fill up.
Amy, the host answered any questions we had. The WiFi is pretty spotty, but there is service closer to the bathroom.
The view of Mt. Adam’s is spectacular!

Little Mountain Cabin
We were on a roadtrip and this little cabin was the perfect stop! We had a campfire, lovely views, a propane stove for food, and a very comfortable bed. We even spotted a calf and his mom spying at us from behind the cabin (there is some agricultural land around the property). A very lovely stay!

My dog Helen and I had a wonderful getaway at Amy's Hipcamp cabin! The property is remote enough to unwind, yet close enough to grab a delicious burger and fries a few miles away. The Trout lake hike is nearby and a lovely hike.
The cabin is fantastic! So cozy, especially with the gas stove. Amy thoughtfully provides an array of items that guests may need in the cabin and kitchen/bathroom area. The bed, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable, which is not always the case with rentals. I made a fire in the fire pit and read for hours until the sun went down... so relaxing! We were visited by two deer, a family of cows, lots of birds, and a sky full of stars.
When we awoke in the morning we were greeted by a GORGEOUS view of Mt. Adams that was obscured by clouds the previous day- WOW.
I highly recommend staying at Little Mountain cabin- I am already looking forward to another stay, perhaps in the winter (according to the guest book comments it is especially dreamy in the snow).

Amy’s place was so great! So many things to do around Trout Lake. I’m a hiker so I was in heaven!
The place is clean, the bed is super comfy. We cooked outside with the Coleman stove and propane supplied by Amy. There a fridge, coffeee maker , bathroom with a shower in the next building over. So nice to have that.
Definitely one of the best hip camps I’ve been to.

I loved staying at Amy’s site! The DNR cabin looks exactly like the photos and the directions were clear. There isn’t electricity or running water but there is a porta potty and camping lights to make sure everything was well lit. I went in the winter and the cabin stayed nice and warm. Amazing views of Mt. Adams and well with the stay.

I have always stayed in cabins IN the woods, this cabin is out in the SUN! If you need some sunshine, come here (when it's sunny). Snow, blue skies, SO many stars, fire pit for hot dogs and contemplating life. Just a few minutes from Trout Lake for any needed items, but be forewarned, Trout Lake businesses close down early at night (the one grocery, gas station, restaurant).
Kitchen/Bath house is warm & cozy, short walk from the cabin. Dishes are minimal, so bring plates/bowls/spoons if needed. We made do with a glass measuring cup and a fork for breakfast oatmeal in the microwave.
The low was 18 degrees, so we had the propane stove on the whole night. We woke up around 2am with a strong smell of chemical in the cabin. Within a few minutes, the Carbon Monoxide Detector beeped. We turned off the heat and slept cold for the rest of the night.
We didn't see any warnings about keeping the heater on all night, but it kinda freaked us out.
Cabin was clean and small and neat and perfect nonetheless.
