White River Site (Site 1)
Great spot, especially for a group
Beautiful spot, very private and lots of space for a group. Great for kids and dogs too - very family friendly. Pond was cold but super clean clear water. Mucky bottom, but that’s what ponds are. Bring a float to stay on top and you’ll love it. Gorgeous views, beautiful property, super close to White River Falls. And 5 min walk to the river access where it runs next to the property. Not the cheapest, but if you have a group and more affordable camping is full, this is a really good option. 10/10 - definitely recommend. Thank you, Amanda!

Tygh Valley Barn
The Barn was a perfect place for our family gathering. Our kids couldn't get enough of the billiards inside and all of the lush grass in the shade of the massive willows outside. There was plenty of space for lots of conversation and cousin time memories. The location is incredibly scenic and quiet. Nearby swimming holes provided a great escape from the heat.

The cabin was at a great location . It had everything, beds, kitchen items, everything you would need. We had a great time stargazing, watching sunrises and sunsets. Thank you

Clear Spring Pond (Site 3)
Beautiful, high desert, grassy field site positioned nestled up against a semicircle of trees with sufficient height to provide a bit of shade as the high noon sun passes overhead. A picnic table & a spring fed, clearwater, muddy bottom pond round out the site nicely. There's a few hundred yds of distance between the sites, so it feels very private and cozy. A 2nd pond slightly further north is just far enough away that people wading there wouldn't really feel too encroaching, although you'd be able to see them coming and going from your site. A portapotty is available close by should you need it, but not uncomfortably close to the site thankfully. The river is small but pretty and about a 10 minute walk from the site by way of the field. The cozy beach area there has an easy access point by the ranch entrance. I'm not sure if there are other tracked out entrances or beaches, but it'd be good to find out because we found the beach a bit crowded by a larger group staying up at the first site.
Be sure to download the listing's site map photo that shows the driving routes to the 3 major sites - you almost certainly won't have cell service to recall it when you get there (or during any of your stay for that matter).
Mosquitoes were so bad at night we just got into our tents before dark.
Communication with Amanda was very spotty, brief, & somewhat cryptic - but she was kind enough to book the trip for my family on the day before our arrival.
Would return!

White River Site (Site 1)
We had such a great time in this really cool spot! We had a huge space and lots of wildlife and we were close to the river. The spot was a little difficult to find but Amanda was helpful when we were lost! The bathroom was super clean and the swim spot was ideal. Be prepared for lots of bugs so definitely bring bug spray!

Mosquitos but gorgeous!
Beautiful property, but directions were needlessly complex, and sites weren’t as described. Also, when booking it was hard to know which site we reserved (Spring Camp / White River Site / Site 1 all appear to be the same one?). The river was across the road, which wasn’t clear in the description, and there is a gate that is closed (if people going in and out keep it closed — we asked one of the other campers to close it after they biked through and they weren’t happy with us), but open access to the road 70 feet away from the gate.
Sprinklers were on in the adjacent field, and I wonder if that was the cause for the high volume of mosquitoes?
The site in the very back left of the property looked amazing - semi-circle of trees around a large field. We would return for that one! We would also return for the walk through the upper property, the views are stunning!
We could see four sites: the one by the road, another one 100 yards into the field from the road (two concrete pads, picnic table, not close to porta-potty), far back to the left, and far back to the right by a pond. Perhaps these can be broken up? There looked to be three porta-potties on the property.

White River Site (Site 1)
Such a wonderful property and setting! Excellent place for dogs, with lots of room to and places to hike. The river located directly across the road from the property entrance is cool and slightly swift but great for soaking your feet or letting the dogs swim. We will definitely be back.

Had a great time staying at the beachfront spot. The water felt great with a beautiful view of Mt Hood. The mosquitoes were an issue but we were warned that this is unpredictable per the season. Otherwise a nice, quiet spot

Tygh Creek campsite
Great spot!
Tygh Creek is a great spot - easy to access while also feeling very private. We had a small group, but easily could have had a big gathering! We camped right by the creek and enjoyed exploring the pasture and seeing the many cows.

In late, out early
We arrived after 11 pm and left before 5:30 the next day so we didn’t get a chance to explore. It’s a pretty meadow with easy access and I wish we had more time. Watch out for cow patties 😁

Clear Spring Pond (Site 3)
Bike weekend from Spring Camp.
Spring Camp was Awesome.
The property is very large and goes back into a bit of a canyon. We stayed in the furthest back campsite near the spring pond with a group of eight and loved the sense of privacy The field was full of deer and wild turkeys when we arrived. The three sites are very separated adding to the sense of privacy but we were the only group on the property this weekend.
Amanda was an excellent communicator and gave us a Google "pin" that made finding the front gate very easy. The numbering of the sites is a bit wonky as the Hipcamp website numbers them differently from Amanda's information. There are no numbers at the sites but you can figure it out from the diagram Amanda sent us.
The most awesome part for us is that the campground is immediately on the Oregon Bikeways route for Sherar's Falls so we were able to start the 34 mile loop from the campground. It's an amazing ride with very little time spent on roads with traffic. Highly recommended.

Fun stay
Staying here was a lot of fun. It was a nice private campsite. You hear and see different types of wild life. You can walk to white river. Amanda was super responsive to any question I had. There were a lot of bees so just be prepared for that. Im definitely coming back.

lovely quiet spot for a group
Our group of 14 thoroughly enjoyed our time at Spring Camp. The site was irrigated and lush and comfortable in the heat. Caught some trout at the nearby river. Nice hikes. Coyotes, deer and wild turkeys. Lovely spot.

Upper Twin Lake Campsite
A private bird oasis, relaxing
We had a great stay! Do not use the link to navigate or you will be in the wrong spot. I plugged the coordinates into Gaia and had no problem finding the gate. That issue may need some attention- it didn’t look right to me and I’m glad I looked. The lake is peaceful and quiet. The birds are amazing to watch all day and evening. I normally camp in national forests and BLM lands. I do not like established campgrounds so thought I would try this out. We loved the tranquility of this site and knowing it was ours to enjoy. I would love to return again! I was fine navigating however the directions may need a few updates for accuracy and ease for others.
Lower Twin Lake Campsite
Disappointing and wrong coords sent
It started auspiciously. For some reason, the lister sent me wrong GPS coordinates that were 35+minutes away from the actual site. There were no written instructions of things to look for in finding the location after confirming the reservations . Tried several times reaching the listing person to no answer because the next day she said she had been unavailable. Drove all over the place trying to find the site. Happened to randomly stumble upon someone that worked as a fishing guide and knew the location and he gave me correct GPS coords.
Rather than getting camp setup in daylight, it was late and pitch black by the time we got to the correct coordinates. Driving in circles for hours looking for the site (impossible since we were given the wrong coordinates) ate up the daylight. By the time of arrival, we were tired and hungry. Massive amounts of bugs that got into the food the 30 seconds of being out of the car. Decided there was no way to set up a tent without massive bug inside the tent. We had to sleet in the car because it was so buggy and late. Disappointing to say the least.
Site lister got back to me the following day saying no clue why that GPS coord was given. No real apology and certainly felt no responsibility for sending incorrect GPS coordinates. Set up the tent after the bugs died down late the second morning. I had routed all sorts of gravel biking rides based on the incorrect coordinates sent to me, so none of that carried over to the “new” (correct) location. That was disappointing too.
It was nice to use stand up paddleboards on the pond for bit and there were beautiful birds to watch. However, none of the other plans could be applied since the actual location was so far away from what I was sent upon making the reservation.
Ticks seem to abound in the area. Had 8 ticks on the puppy in about six hours, so be sure to check regularly.
If you go, set up tent late morning to mid-afternoon. Once it gets cooler there are lots of bugs so you won’t get a (mostly) bug free tent set up if you do it in cooler temperatures.

White River Site (Site 1)
Uniquely Beautiful Ranch/Campsite
Beautiful, private, setting - with ponds, springs, and hay fields to explore. Our campsite - toward the back of the property - was spacious and perfect for me, my toddler. and my insane border collie to stretch our legs without disturbing anyone (I hope).
The only thing I would've done differently would have been to have the property/campsite map accessible when I arrived. Instead, I couldn't find it, and couldn't remember anything about the orientation of the sites (and it wasn't obvious to me in person). So, I was about to settle in at the site closest to the road, when Amanda happened to pull up and help me get oriented (Thank you!), which led me to check out one of the sites in the back of the property. Much more beautiful and private - and worked perfectly for us.

Difficult to find the site. Drove around for an hour and ultimately left. GPS coordinates and satellite maps weren’t helpful, as fences prevented us from driving onto the area. Very disappointed. Asked for a refund however did not receive one.

52 Lake Campsite
High desert adventure
Had a great weekend and had a lake to ourselves. The property was simple, no services, so its cat holes unless you have an RV of which we do. The kiddos went back n forth from the lake all weekend and mastered their little kayaks, beyond that its exploring the property and region. Shaniko was super cool to explore, and just up the way is John Day, and Fossil, if you're ok with windy roads. It was perfect for memorial day as it was hot, when the coast was cold.

This is by far my favorite hipcamp. It was wonderfull. My dogs are still sleeping. Very quiet and secluded. Good fishing. One if the more expensive camps we have stayed but well worth it. The little market in grass valley market is well worth eating at. Very good food!

What a great spot, in the middle of open ranch land, far from it all. Cabin had all the comforts: propane grill, electric cooking top, pots and pans, etc. Beds were comfortable and the temp inside was cozy even though outside it was in the mid-20s. Great getaway if you’re goal is to get away.
