This unique place in Lyle, Washington - part of the Columbia River Gorge scenic area - is magical and utterly beautiful. The property is set in a magnificent meadow as far as the eye can see with soft rolling hills, edged up to a deep oak woodland/ponderosa pine forest. Wildlife, stars, trails, and rivers all abound here. We think it is one of the finest, most precious and beautiful places on the planet. For outdoor recreation, this area is a windsurfing and kiteboarding mecca. Mount Adams and Mount Hood, await hikers and skiers, and kayaking is popular on the Klickitat and White Salmon Rivers. Heart-stopping beauty and peacefulness whichever way you turn. You will feel like you have gone to your own little Shangri-La and you will not soon forget the experience. Even sleeping is special here, as you look up into the dome of the yurt and behold the stars, while twinkle lights gently illuminate the interior. Astronomy and senior dog weekend

What a relaxing weekend! Perfect spot for astronomy, I enjoyed a lovely night learning from Dad. Brought my 3 senior dogs as well who enjoyed their time! Great landing spot if one wants to explore and another just wants to relax at camp. Don't miss sunset at the purple bench! Yurt is also very well stocked for kitchen and bedding needs! Yummy spring water, dogs demanded fill ups if their bowls were even an hour non-fresh! Be on the lookout for little lizards! Our favorite amoung the wildlife

We loved the quiet retreat of the yurt! The sunset at the top of the hill was magical and playing board games and falling asleep by the wood stove was so cozy. Such a refreshing escape from city life.

We loved our time at the yurt! Gorgeous property, sweeping views and such a welcome and cozy atmosphere. The host was nearby and very receptive to questions, alyet we had privacy to relax and felt right at home. Highly recommend this beautiful glamping experience!!

Peaceful honeymoon

We absolutely loved our trip to the forest cupcake! This trip was our honeymoon trip and it was more than amazing! My husband surprised me with this trip for Christmas and I can say now it was so worth the wait! We had such a blast just getting to hang out without the distractions of everyday life! We listened to a couple audiobooks and enjoyed music. We loved sitting on the hillside watching the wind blow through the grass and trees, seeing the hawks glide through was like a dream. It was so peaceful and beautiful! I can’t wait for our next visit (already planning)

Perfect Getaway

A wonderful and cozy yurt placed in a beautiful setting. It was wonderful to get away for the weekend without cell service inside the yurt to really relax. Our last night we climbed to the top of the hill at sunset and my partner proposed! It was so perfect with the rolling hills around us, the mountains in the background, native plants blooming all around, and the beautiful sunset! This place will now always have a special place in our hearts.

Lovely stay

Irene was so accommodating and welcoming, the yurt has so many lovely and thoughtful touches. I slept like a log!! I can’t wait to come back and spend more time. The pictures don’t do it justice, my jaw dropped when I opened the door! It’s so spacious and cozy at the same time.

Wow!

It was a fun experience sleeping inside a yurt for the 1st time. Yes, truly beautiful surroundings, meadows & mountains and so peaceful. Checked out the tree house too. We enjoyed our Glamping here. Met their cute dog, Acorn, a very good doggo!

The yurt was sweet and inviting. You can tell the host truly wants to share the beauty of her land and simpler living with all those who pass by. There was a lot of heart in the stay and we very much appreciated the reprieve from busy life. Woof fire stove, well water, gorgeous walks, stars and cozy game play in the yurt were our highlights

This yurt is located in a quiet rural valley, out of sight from neighbors. The views from the property are absolutely stunning. The wood stove keeps the space warm and cozy on a cold night. We loved this sweet little cupcake.

A must stay!

This was our first Hipcamp experience and I have to say it exceeded our expectations. Beautiful views, quiet fields of tall grass and the sounds of wildlife. I do wish we were able to light the fire inside the yurt as it got very chilly once the sun went down. But the sunset views made our night very special. Highly recommend.

A Happy Birthday Experience

The experience in the Forest Cupcake to celebrate my husband’s birthday was exceptional. The yurt space is large and well-appointed with several thoughtful and creative details. The purple bench at the top of the hill was such a stellar feature and we enjoyed a lovely sunset from that vantage point. It was everything we hoped for: quiet, comfortable, lovely setting, and accommodating for our dogs. We’ll keep this on our Favorites list! Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.

The yurt itself is pretty huge. If you want glamping, this is it. There is a hill next to it that you can walk up to get a nice view and cellular signal. I like how you have to bring water in from the well, the outhouse, and outdoor shower. It's nice and quiet, a great escape. Irene was super nice and welcoming and kind to my kid that was with me. But the highlight is the yurt itself, it's just awesome! Would recommend to couples and people looking to escape the city and slow time down. Bring a cooler of food, and do go grocery shopping before going to Lyle. I will definitely be going back.

So much PEACE!

The glamping tent was a perfect spot to enjoy so much peace and quiet and amazing views (2 mountains!) from the hilltop bench. Great location to explore the area, to hike and swim or fish in the Klickitat. Lots of room in the tent, all the amenities to cook, very clean. And Irene was such a warm and friendly host. Wish I could have stayed longer!!!

A most peaceful and restful retreat. The yurt provided all our basic needs while serving as a buffer to the outside world. This was a perfect place to stop with my dog on our road trip to the OR coast. Irene is a wonderful and helpful host. I would definitely stay here again!

It was a serene location, with cowbells in the distance and the breeze through the tall grass of the hillside you look up at. I would recommend coming at slightly different time of year when burrs don't make climbing the hill for an amazing vista a bit more challenging (ow!). But the Yurt and the area were really great for unplugging and hanging low. Great jump off to explore as well. I was happy I brought my own floor sleeping mattress as the pull outs were a bit soft for my back, but my daughter didn't notice! Great, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Would go back.

The yurt and the property it’s on are fantastic! We would definitely stay here again. The hideabed isn’t comfortable but no worries, we put the extra mattress on the floor and slept great. The propane stoves are simple to use and the kitchen supplies as described are fine. There’s lots to do nearby during the day, then come back and enjoy the sunset. It’s a beautiful location and we enjoyed watching a hawk hunting on the slope above the yurt. The views of Mt Adam’s and Mr Hood are spectacular from the bench. This place is a treasure.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay

The yurt was cozy and the area was so serene! We had hands down the best long weekend away! Thank you for making our anniversary a memorable one! We will for sure be back. Only suggestion that we had is privacy curtains on front door. Not that it was a game changer by any means! Thank you again!

Super beautiful area and peaceful views. Looking up at the stars from inside the yurt was amazing! Irene and Bill were also super kind and communicative. The only uncomfortable part was that there were a lot of pretty big spiders in the yurt, and we think there’s a wasp nest up near the front door. Also it’s advertised for sleeping 5 but there’s only a fold out Queen mattress and fold out twin so it would be more comfortable for 3. They offer a foam queen mattress topper which maybe they are counting as a separate bed, but I wouldn’t recommend sleeping on the floor due to the spideys! Overall, really beautiful area in a location with lots of hiking and swimming to keep you busy. :)

We love the Forest Cupcake!

What a great place to reconnect and chill. The plentiful well water was cool and delicious. The yurt is large with a nice table and sweet little kitchenette with burners and enough pots and pans for simple meals. The queen pullout couch bed is certainly better than the hard ground, but even with the soft bed topper, it’s not quite as comfortable as a regular bed would be. There was often a lovely breeze along the hills. However, it’s a yurt, so when it’s a hot summer day it can be huge stifling in the summer afternoon, even with the windows and dome open. It’s good to plan to be away on grand adventures during that time. Cools off wonderfully in the evening. We really enjoyed our time here. A true gem.
