The yurt was the most magical stay. We couldn’t get over how awesome it was. The biggest perk was the doggo coming to say hi (the sweetest angel!). 10/10 would recommend staying here. I’d love to be back. The bed was so cozy too!

The yurt was incredible. Bed was super comfortable, and all the accommodations are more than you could ask for. Also the visits from the family dog were definitely a highlight.

Cozy yurt with everything you could possibly need to have a comfortable stay. Spent time out on the deck watching the sunset through the trees. Spoiled with a warm shower. Zero things to complain about. Only good things to say. I wish we could have stayed longer.

This was our first hipcamp experience and it was a great one! The yurt was very cozy and well equipped. Even on a very hot day it stayed cool and comfortable. Our kids absolutely loved the owner’s friendly dog who visited regularly and enjoyed playing fetch.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while we were out in White Salmon and Mt. Hood! Richard and his family were so hospitable, kind and responsive to anything we needed. The yurt was perfect, everything was set up, clean and ready to go. They even had water for us to drink from their well so no worries on having your potable water with you. All cooking supplies were included and they kept us warm with heating options. Showering was great to have after being on trails all day and Richard made it easy to access and use all the amenities. We had a great stay and will absolutely stay here when we come back if it’s available. It’s tucked away just right with quick access to the town and everything you’d need.

This spot was cozy, affordable and had everything we needed for a sweet night in the trees. The hosts were thoughtful in setting up the space and left extra bedding and notes to help us navigate the space. The yurt is right off a main road and next to other houses which made us feel extra comfortable and safe. We appreciated the opportunity to stay in this beautiful little spot.

The yurt was beautiful with awesome surroundings. Great stargazing and pretty wildlife like deer around the property. The yurt itself was equipped with everything you need and the hot shower was easy to operate and a nice, luxurious addition.

Yurt In The Fir Trees
We loved this yurt! Two adults and a toddler stayed here as a basecamp to explore gifford Pinchot Forest and hood river. The amenities are really nice, but it still feels like camping. It’s not super remote so easy to get to town, but we still heard owls all night long and the wind in the trees. The dog who can to visit us every day named Huckle was the sweetest goodest boy. Overall a lovely stay! The bed was really comfortable and the yurt had everything we needed for simple comfort. The fan was key for temperature control, but with some attention to that we were cool and comfy all night even with hot days. Thanks!

Richard’s beautiful Yurt sits on a power spot with awesome views! The wind through the trees sounds like you are deep in the Black Forest (or high in the Alps!) The Yurt is large and cozy at once with many thoughtful details (books and magazines.. lots of kitchen stuff.. plenty of pillows). I very much appreciate his responsiveness and strong business ethic.

Enjoyed our stay in the Yurt. A really cool (warm weather) experience. I definately would recommend it to our friends!
The only thing I would add is a screen door, and two windows with screens, for cross ventilation. It was a rather warm two days when we were there, but the evenings were very comfortable for sleeping. This is a Mongolian Style Yurt, so Im assuming the design (no sceen door or windows) is very traditional. The location (for us) was perfect..only a two min. drive to our destination.

The yurt is a perfect escape. The bed is Queen sized and comfortable and the place was well stocked and clean. The yurt is larger than it looks in the pictures. I highly recommend this site. We would love to return another time.

The coziest little hobbit door welcomed us to the most perfect yurt I've ever stayed in. My girlfriend quickly fell asleep in the comfy cozy bed as I dozed off to the sounds of the wind. We woke up to coffee and then a refreshing shower in an outdoor shower house. It was the most wild and adventurous experience and we loved it! We left with the most amazing parting gift, a sweet CD to listen to on our 5 hour journey home to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. As we were parting from the yurt, we went to take some photos and the handsome huckle, appeared out of nowhere with a ear to ear grin to wish us a fair well. He only requested we toss a few sticks for him before part for adventure.

The yurt was cozy, even though it was cool for April, thanks to an easy to use heater. The unique hand-built features of the yurt add a great feel to the place. The hand-hewn rafters were so much more beautiful than machine made ones. Richard provided easy to follow directions and helpful tips. The short drive into White Salmon is scenic, with great views of both Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood (the top of which you can see from the yurt as well). The three of us enjoyed our stay at the yurt, and enjoyed listening to the music of our hosts Tova and Richard too!

When we accidentally pulled into Richard’s driveway, not the Yurt’s, long past sunset, he pointed us in the right direction with a smile. We loved our short stay in the Yurt. It is the perfect cozy place to stay! Clean, comfortable, and charming.

Fun location—pretty close to White Salmon but you’re still out in the country, nice yurt with comfortable accommodations, cute and user-friendly outhouse situation, lots of fun animal noises at night but nothing earplugs couldn’t handle (which are stocked in a cabinet in the yurt).

This was a perfect, cozy location while we explored the White Salmon, Hood River, Gifford Pinchot area! The yurt was warm with the heater on a night that got down to 50 and I imagine it would be warm at even colder temps - plus, the bedding is fluffy and warm. Well-equipped with cooking supplies and everything was clean - or a 5ish min drive to downtown restaurants. The host was super friendly and helpful. The stars are beautiful at night! Make sure to download directions before going, as I had no cell service with Verizon. There are outlets and electricity. There are so many fun things to do nearby!

A VERY nice yurt with everything one may need to have for a comfortable stay: fan for hotter nights, heater for cooler (I believe, the yurt could be also used in winter when there is plenty of snow around). There is a comping kitchen stove and plenty of dishes and pots to use (don't need to bring your own).
Great people own it and are available to address any problems one might have. Although they live in house that is on the same property, the yurt remains very private for your use.
I loved my and my 12-year old twin girls stay there.

My sister and I loved our stay in Richard’s yurt! He was very kind and we felt well taken care of. It was a bonus that we got to see Richard and his wife perform some live music in town! Highly recommend his yurt for a cozy stay close to White Salmon and lots of hikes!

This was such a peaceful place to stay at. The ride across the bridge to and up the mountain to the yurt was absolutely beautiful. There is a $2 toll. Great views with the sun setting driving in. Hood river was a fun town for the evening! Lots of fruit stands in white salmon. I stayed warm in the yurt with no extra heating. You will fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to a rooster. I loved it, but Richard provided ear plugs for those that don't. I was travelling as a solo female and I felt safe. It was a lovely night and morning. Highly recommend (:
