Open for the 2025 Season Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills, called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle. Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens. Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips. The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, country cafe, Chinese restaurant, and new to our town "Confluence Cafe" right at the entrance by the Klickitat River - Awesome views - yummy treats and coffee. Matt and Ali are super cool, go check it out. Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

Need a save place to park your RV (up to 30 ft) for the night and relax under the Oak trees? Great central spot to many hiking/biking trails. This is a back in (or pull in) site with space to navigate and it’s right by Centerville Hwy so great access. It’s - semi flat spot, not 100% level (I park my 24ft motorhome there and level it out just fine). You can fill up water by the house; there’s no hook up.

Due to COVID pre-cautions we only book one site at a time; so the bathroom is not shared with anyone else. Bathroom is below the Loft, so you have to walk out around to it. We welcome "everyone", don't discriminate or judge. If you don't share these values please don't book. This  should be a place where you can relax and feel safe. Fall and winter has it's charm here, so don't hesitate to check it out. *** We have pets, (two cats, one small dog and chickens) so please make sure you're ok with that. *** Please drive slow as the animals roam around! WIFI: We're unable to share our WiFi at this time as we only have limited access ourselves and need it for working from home now.  After all it's country living, so we hope you can enjoy the free wild life and chicken TV instead. Bonus: Awesome stars at night. Check if you can use your hotspot through your phone! Upload movies at home, watch later. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills,  called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle.  The Loft is a stand alone building, Loft is one good size room, including a queen size bed, lounge chair and dresser. Has A/C in the summer and wall heather for the winter. Below the loft: Enjoy the bathroom with well water, toilet, sink and shower is just a few steps below the loft (in the garage). Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens - we have a rooster just FYI - (and yes we sell fresh eggs :). Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips. The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, breakfast place and the Sandbar that has good food and some entertainment.  Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or The Dalles. Private and quiet lower camp despite the nearby road. Zero mosquitos. Nadja was a fantastic and authentic host, even gave us baked apricot strudel and extra veggies from her garden! A herd of deer and some wild turkeys came through. We would definitely stay with her again! Note: If you have a dog, keep them near your tent/camper as it is the time of year for burrs. Our dog was covered with them.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. It was clean and spacious with plenty of room for our dog to run around. It is surrounded by beautiful oak trees and since the leaves hadn’t come in yet, there was plenty of sunlight, 0which was great for keeping our solar panels charged. There is a big opening to 0 sky so you would still get some good sun and views even with the trees filled in. Nadja was really nice and helpful, making sure we had what we needed. She was super thoughtful and provided a ton of good suggestions and even let us borrow bug spray for our dog for hiking. Currently, water is available at the top of the driveway. We have a 20ft trailer and were able to manage it without any issues. But Nadja did mention she may be bring a hose down to the site. There was a bit of road noise during the day, but it wasn’t constant and was much quieter than the main roads. At night, the site was pretty quiet and very peaceful. It’s a beautiful spot and we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was a great place to hang out at and a nice location for surrounding hikes.

High Prärie Loft
My husband and I booked Nadja's place for our 3 year anniversary. The loft was really inviting, and we just loved being able to enjoy the property and take little walks in the morning while sipping our coffee. I read the reviews before going to Nadja's and requested the cinnamon rolls which were very delicious and I highly recommend getting them! We had a chance to talk to Nadja for a bit and get to know her and hear about her adventures. We both highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the Gorge.

Glamping with the Stars
High Prärie Loft
Nadja greeted us with warmth and doted on us during our stay with thoughtful treats. She is a true ‘hostess with the mostest’ and goes above and beyond. The high prairie was green and lush- what a treat to see it this time of year. The loft is perfect for a getaway for two, and we were able to cook the majority of our meals in the well-appointed kitchen space downstairs. We felt extremely relaxed and at home staying here and are looking forward to another retreat soon. Make sure to order cinnamon rolls- they were to die for. Great hiking all around, and close to the Goldendale Observatory for world class stargazing. Just go!! :)

We loved staying here! Nadja our host is super friendly and we loved seeing the kitties walking around and her sweet puppy Milo. The room is cozy and cute and we loved the views on the drive there. Having to go outside to get to the kitchen/bathroom area was only inconvenient at night time because it gets really dark so we were glad Nadja provided flashlights! But the property is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. Nadja even left us some farm fresh eggs and a delicious pear one morning for breakfast. It was perfect!

High Prärie Loft
Nadja's High Prarie Loft is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The property is amazing with a beautiful view and convenient location close to the countless Washington/Oregon state parks in the Columbia River Valley. It was the perfect getaway for my partner and I, where we felt perfectly at home. "Mama Nadja" is such a charming and big-hearted host, we can't wait to spend another weekend with her and her charming animals. This is a special special place and I cannot recommend it enough. We will be back, for sure.

Best Hipcamp host ever! The Loft was cozy, clean, and lovely; the farm was beautiful, and Nadja was just the best. She had great suggestions for local hikes and dining options and her considerate nature made for a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The farm was well-appointed, being close to hikes and natural beauty and also a drivable distance into Hood River and White Salmon. We would stay here again and would recommend The High Prärie Loft to anyone.

Wonderful again!
High Prärie Loft
This was our 2nd time at Nadja and it was wonderful again. Nadja is a great host and the amenities of this place are one of a kind. There is literally everything you need to make this an unforgettable stay. The land is beautiful and so peaceful. We will be back soon!

The High Prarie Loft was everything we thought it would be and more. It was a picturesque property that was beautiful and peaceful. Our accommodations were cozy and well thought out. Above all, Nadja is a consummate host. Easily the best I have encountered on Hip Camp. She thought of everything, and the details and extras exceeded out expectations. Thanks for everything Nadja!! I would stay at her place again in a heart beat!

Perfect gorge basecamp
High Prärie Loft
Nadja was an amazing host and her property is perfect for exploring the gorge by bike and foot… awesome gravel and road riding right out the door. Be sure to check out some of the local wineries and farm stands. And the pancakes are well worth it. Hope to be back soon!

We highly recommend a stay in Nadja's loft space. The loft is nice and cozy, furnished with a bed and dresser, a small heater, and a big beanbag. The downstairs space had everything we would have needed to cook, from a hotplate to dishware to cookware. Nadja's apple pancakes were amazing, and she's in the process of planting some fresh vegetables! She was very communicative, and extremely hospitable. and we enjoyed playing with very sweet pup and outdoor cats. We would happily stay here again!

High Prärie Loft
nadja's loft is really wonderful, it was great to stay here for a few days in the middle of a 10 day road trip. The loft itself is nice and the bathroom and "common area" was well kept with some tools for cooking. Nadja is very friendly and helpful, and her pup and cats were cute and sociable and fun. I had a great time just sitting around relaxing and talking and playing fetch with the pup. There's a lot of really great sight-seeing and hikes nearby, this is a great "home base" for even a few days stay in the area!

We loved our stay at Nadja's!! All the necessities in a beautiful, relaxing setting. Mini fridge is, in fact mini, so i wouldn't bring a ton of cold stuff but it gets the job done. And she has a cooler you can borrow if need be. Its a super cute place with great landscape. A great home base for amazing hiking in the area, 25min to columbia hills state park and close to many other trails! 15min drive to a delicious vineyard with great vibes (cor cellars). Nadja was super welcoming, we would definitely stay here again (and hope to do so!)

Cozy stay near the Klickitat
High Prärie Loft
We had such a wonderful time at Nadja's place. Our son loved running around in the oak forest in front of the house - there are a lot of little discoveries to be made there! The loft was perfect for the three of us. We were cozy and warm all night. The loft is above a garage, and one half of the garage is converted into a little kitchenette and bathroom. We had everything we needed between the upstairs loft and downstairs kitchenette. There wasn't a very good system set up for washing dishes, but we made do. Nadja shared her many plans for improving the place in the next few years and we will definitely return to check out her progress and enjoy another stay!

I really enjoyed my second stay at High Prarie Loft. It was so peaceful and the perfect escape. Nadja keeps the space immaculately clean. It's a good place to stay to explore the Klickitat Trail from the Harm's RD trailhead - about 13 minutes away.

I LOVE IT HERE. Nadja is the most hospitable host. She makes the best German pancakes! The camp is great. It’s the perfect in between of camping and airbnb style lodging. It’s easy to feel at home here.

Cozy loft in a beautiful part of the Gorge. In close proximity to plenty of hiking and exceptional views of Mt Hood and Mt Adams. Nadja was an excellent host and made sure all our needs were met while we were there!

Pleasant & comfortable
High Prärie Loft
Staying at the High Prarie Loft was super pleasant! Nadja was kind and amenable. We had farm fresh eggs and a warm loft upon our late arrival. The upstairs space is cozy! You have to go outdoors to get down to the kitchen/bathroom area which was well stocked with utensils and cookware. The kitties and Milo the Jack Russell terrier are adorable. Nadja was helpful and knowledgeable with recommendations in the area. I only wish we could have stayed longer and made use of the fire pit and walked around her property a bit more. Overall, we'd highly recommend for a rustic and furnished Hipcamp experience!

lovely place! the host was so accommodating and helped us out in a tight spot (also shared some amazing cooking). the property was beautiful, the loft was cozy, and the chickens and deer were plentiful. perfect weekend getaway.

High Prärie Loft
My friend + I had a wonderful stay here! Nadja was incredibly hospitable, kind + helpful. This location is fairly close to the Dalles + Hood River for good food and lots of good nature nearby (Nadja recommended a really nice hike) The cabin is really cute. (At the time we stayed there, there weren't any pictures of the inside, but the loft is warm and has a lovely queen sized bed, and the detached kitchen + bathroom down below were great (it is not a full kitchen but the hot plate, french press, and other tools were plenty for us to make our meals)). There are cats and a puppy and chickens which was a huge plus for us and also Nadja's pancakes were delicious. You are pretty close to the main house (only about 10 feet apart) but Nadja had a great balance of helpful/friendly + giving us our own space. There was some snow when we came up, and we thought our car could make it up the steep driveway but it could not and we got stuck (the only downside to our trip) Nadja was incredibly helpful but my advice would be if its snowy park at the bottom and walk up! All + all, I would stay here again and recommend it!

High Prärie Loft
What a perfect solo get-away: solitude, great sky/landscape views and incredible star gazing opportunities (I saw three shooting stars one night). Truly, the night sky alone was clear and watching stars coming into view and fading from view as the night passed was simply remarkable. Nice hikes and walks around the area (lots of horses). The sunset from Struck road was awe inspiring. Nadja was an incomparable host: warm and welcoming and generously provided a glass of fresh squeezed apple/carrot juice in the morning and a snack for the road on the day I left. Nadja's animals are adorable but respectful, not a nuisance requiring lots of shooing away, rather the larger of the two cats would lay on the stair rail and stargaze with me (super cute). I would absolutely stay again and would recommend this place. I will absolutely return.

nadja’s a-frame hideaway was a great place to get some space from seattle. it’s a single room in the upper section of the separated a-frame cottage. there’s one queen bed and two foam pads. below the room is a bathroom / storage space. it’s also where you can cook some basic meals. it’s basically halfway between glamping and a full cabin. nadja was kind + welcoming. you’re definitely going to want to be ok with pets ! the two cats + dog were so friendly, and we loved hanging out with them. There aren’t a ton of gas stations or grocery stores around so make sure you’re prepped with those things before you get there. overall it was a nice + easy getaway !
