Expect a warm greeting upon arrival. To find us, an unmarked road, listed on maps as "Country Lane" (we call it Vega Vortex Rd). Parking is close to our Vega Vortex sign and a short walk to your tent. Filtered potable water, electricity, shower/toilet with an "on demand" hot/cold water are available. Instructions for use are available and should you need assistance - we are here for you!
Experience 2 campsites, BYOT (bring your own tent or rent one from us) or an onsite Bell tent. The Bell tent contains carpeted padded flooring, camp lights,
shelving, 2 cots with bedding, plus a memory foam camping mattress! The BYOT site's measurement is 10' x 10' . Both sites have shaded areas, and picnic tables. A shower and a compost toilet are available.
Enjoy a designated smoking/vaping spot, multiple benches, and swings, a "grounding" spot, birding, water fountains and art.
A no noise policy by the county occurs at 9 pm. Due to a high risk fire zone, no open fires. Due to the proximity of the tents right next to Vega Rd, sounds from vehicles can be heard. We are situated in a rural neighborhood setting, with sounds of sheep, goats, chickens, wild turkeys, dogs and many birds nestled between both counties. For enhanced protection we ask that a waiver be signed. Security cameras are on site. While respecting your privacy, we can be seen improving the property. The terrain is hilly and staying on paths limits poison oak exposure.
Vega Vortex has been called a Park and Machu Picchu due to the amphitheater landscaping of terracing. Practicing permaculture, a diversity of pollinating plants/ flowers, organic garden and art features exist. Minutes away from National Parks, the Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk, Roaring Camp Train, Monterey Bay Aquarium, National Steinbeck Center, Moss Landing, Elkhorn Slough/Canoe/Kayak, Estuaries (bird watching), golfing and multiple beaches.

This campground just god a major uplift. This used to be called Feel Good Camp and now we dedicate it to the natural green building and clean living. The Grand Opening will be the weekend of the 15th this year.
We made our decision based on our love to create an inspiration for arts and creating beautiful buildings using materials that you can find around you such as pallets, clay, sands, straws, etc. Everything is made out of non toxic materials, we even made our own paint out of cooking flours!
Being inside these cob buildings feels like being in the womb of Mother Earth: the scent, the calm, the grounding, etc. The woods come from one of our properties and we milled them ourselves. We upcycle almost everything: The tree barks, the branches, even the furnitures were secured from non-profit organizations. We'd like you to come to be inspired! One of the buildings is there as a demonstration site till its done and we'll have the cob builder to be there to show you around. Cob working party is held by a master cob builder.
We made your Camping and Glamping experience easy. We provide clean showers, restrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, barbecue, camping stoves, utensils, plates, bowls, mugs, coffee maker, pots and pans, cutleries, etc. Yes, there is hot water as well with no coins needed.
The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside.
The amenities are: Outdoor kitchen, 2 fire pits, outdoor showers and bathrooms, electricity in each cobin, Board games, Yard Games, dog park and an outdoor library for little ones to grown ups. In Winter 2026 we'll add sauna and outdoor tubs for warm winter experience.

One mile away is Harvey Bear County Park, with trails for bikes, horses or walking. We are 5 minutes from the Gilroy Outlets, yet a world away from the hustle and bustle! Come, relax and enjoy nature! Enjoy Gilroy Gardens (seasonally) or go hiking at a nearby State or County Park. Or just relax at the Farm.

This is an animal farm. If you love new animal experiences, this is the place for you! If you are scared of or allergic to cats or dogs, this might not be the place for you! If you can't handle new smells and sounds, this might not be the place for you. You will feed and enjoy the animals; please respect their space, no chasing and no going into their enclosures.
There is dirt, dust and various country critters. We love Country Life!!

"The Flying Pig" has a queen bed, bunk beds twin size, and a loft with a twin mattress, all bedding included.
You are not just paying for a place to sleep; you are paying for an experience and the enjoyment of our property :-).
We serve a continental breakfast (free) or hot breakfast ($35/cabin) between 8-9am.
(we can accommodate vegetarian and dairy free diets; let us know before you come).
We provide bedding and towels. There is A/C and a plug-in heater in The Flying Pig. Please do not bring additional things to plug in except for chargers for phone/electronic devices.
We are approximately 1 1/2 hours south of San Francisco,
30 min south of San Jose (without traffic).
Gilroy Gardens is 15 min away; Harvey Bear County park is 1 mile away; Monterey and Santa Cruz and the Pinnacles National Park are approximately 1 hour away.
We recommend bringing dinner or eating before arrival to maximize your evening.

Within a mile from the property you will have access to single track trails that connect via foot with Big Sur and the Ventana wilderness area in the Santa Lucia Mountains. Rural Southern Monterey County hilltop with 360° views of the surrounding valley. To the west is an unobstructed view of the Los Padres National forest, sunsets over the coast ridge from Junipero Serra peak to the north and Rocky Butte to the south. To the east is Williams Hill BLM area, with clear views of the sunrise. To the southeast is Lake San Antonio. Nacimiento Lake is a beautiful 45 minute drive to the south. Although the dirt access road can be a little dusty and bumpy for a sports car, in the 35 years I've been here it has always been accessible for a 2 wheel drive vehicle. The property is at the end of the road. No traffic, no noise, only views of the surrounding area. If you are interested in night skies, the milky way is a constant. After winter rains, everything is green and wild flowers are abundant. Stay and enjoy the vistas or travel relatively short distances for hiking in the Los Padres forest, drive CA HWY 1, visit Paso Robles wineries, boat or fish at Lake San Antonio or Lake Nacimiento. Nearby Williams Hill BLM area for hunting, shooting or ATV riding. For hunters and fisherman, Ft Hunter Liggett is to the immediate west. Occasional weekend's be entertained by military training and occasional aircraft, helicopters and planes. It is so quiet that you can hear vehicles passing several miles away on Jolon Rd in the valley below. Visitors travel to Morro bay, Avila beach to the south or Big Sur and Monterey Bay to the north. Motorcycle enthusiasts can enjoy 100's of miles of uncrowded country roads. Host is an avid motorcyclist and will provide enough helpful guidance for all levels of riding. Corbin saddle in Hollister is a great destination for lunch and a custom made seat by appointment. Getaway to the central coast of California and leave the city behind. San Francisco is a bit over 2 hours to the north and LA about 4 hours to the south. Owner has intimate knowledge of way to many destinations.

We are here in Gilroy Ca, on a rural 2 acres just outside of town, further up our road is Coyote Lake to go boating and fishing and Harvey Bear park to go hiking and horse riding. Santa Cruz is a 45 min drive West over hwy 152 and San Jose is 30 min North on 101 and keep going a bit more and you will be in San Francisco.
Here at home we raise several different kinds of lives stock. Goats for meat and milk, Sheep for meat and wool and eventually milk, Pigs for meat, Rabbits for meat and hide, Chickens, Ducks and Quail for meat and eggs. We have a garden and small orchard with nearly a dozen fruit trees of different kinds : loquat, a few apples, plums, apricot, peach, fig, persimmons and my favorite the pomegranate! We process everything ourselves using ancestral techniques and love to share and learn with others.
Id say the main draw back here is the traffic noise but beyond that, We are quite lucky to have very a green and Id say an oasis of a property, with multiple large palms trees surrounding the pool area and a large weeping willow tree in the main yard/sheep pasture. At the NE corner of the property is a very large oak tree, it is majestic and with the tipi door open to the East the big oak is the first thing you'll see every morning besides the suns rays!
The entire Northern property line is rowed with 60ft tall redwood trees and there are a smattering of citrus trees around to boot!
The freezer is stocked with in house meat, the BBQ is hot, the pool is cool, come relax after a day on the trails!

We came back for our second visit and we all still loved the farm! My 4-year old had a blast playing in the sandboxes, swinging on the new play structure, and feeding the animals. My parents loved it, too. The little cottages are adorable and very comfortable, and the super soft bedding feels luxurious. The new portable toilet in the parking area is a super convenient addition! Get the hot breakfast!! Kim is an amazing cook and such a sweet, kind person. She really wants everyone to have a great time.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Owl Land
This is a very special place. The feeling of comfort, quiet, and private surrounding nature is exactly what you’ll get coming here.
Inside:
My partner and I stayed in the sky view cabana, it was an absolute blessing to have a private shower, sink, hot water kettle, mini fridge (that actual gets cold) and a king size memory foam bed. A+ camp. There were towels provided but bring your own if you want to enjoy the hot tub!
Outside:
You have access to your own outside space, with two hammocks/ outside chairs, gas fire pit, and shared (with other sites): Propane grill on the deck, and outside toilet, a few yards away.
Place:
The property is breathtaking, the work Vaza and her family put into this place really is magical. There is a peace that drifts through here that heals. Make sure you check out the wellness center, the peace here and full tatami flooring, and absolute work of art. Say hi to the chickens, and maybe get lucky to see a dog or owls.
Thank you Vaza, for your great hospitality, your gift of community and healing, keep spreading love and positivity. This is somewhere we will return to in the future.

Such a scenic place with an amazing host. Stephan was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. He shared so many hidden gem spots nearby that made exploring the area even more special. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a great experience. The space was comfortable, cozy, and had plenty of heating, which made the stay even better. We also loved the fire pit outside, which was perfect for relaxing in the evening. Hands down, we’d come back anytime.

Kim and her farm provides an amazing little country getaway, not too far from the Bay Area. This was our second visit and our 7 year old girls loved it even more. The cabin is perfect for glamping, the bathrooms are clean and there is so much entertainment for the kids, they didn’t ask once for their iPad! Lol. We loved helping feed all the animals and help Kim collect eggs. Make sure you add on the breakfast option- it’s the perfect ending to your stay.

I highly recommend this place for anybody who feels the need to get away from the busy life. Kim, the camp host, is great with kids.
Farm animals were fun to be around, and kids play whole day and night at the farm. They picked up fresh eggs in the morning. We also enjoyed s'mores and breakfast a lot!
We are hoping to go back again soon!

I was looking for something off the beaten path for a getaway with my kiddo and Kim’s spot was perfect. Based on the reviews and photos, I thought it would be fun, but this was confirmed upon arrival. There are adorable animals, play structures, bikes and hidden nooks to explore. It’s a safe property so I felt okay letting my child explore while I brushed my teeth for example. It was just the right amount of rustic that we were looking for. My child loved the s’mores add-on as well as collecting eggs for the dozen that we purchased. It was also nice to have breakfast onsite so we could enjoy the sunrise, animals and calm of the mornings. Kim was a kind and gracious host who truly takes pride in her animals and her business. Would definitely recommend!

There's so many kids toys lying around and the trampoline was a hit with my 7 year old. The Cabin was clean, cozy, and very well put together. The attention to details was impressive. It was our third time to stay here. My kids love this place and begged me to come in their spring break. They enjoyed feeding animals, playing at the backyard and staying in the cozy cabin. We could pet the chicks and they were so fluffy! We also enjoyed the optional breakfast. The owner, Kim, is very kind and friendly.

Very nice park. Quite a small park when compared to other national parks. We hiked 95 percent of the trails in one day. We did not hike the 7 mile loop but 16 miles in a day was enough.

Hiked High Peaks and Bear Gulch loop. A little over 8 miles and steep in some areas. Lovely views and wonderful hike. Get to lot on the early side, it fills up fast.

Pinnacles is an underrated National Park to visit with unique geological formations like caves. The park itself is small but there’s enough to do outdoors to keep you occupied. We didn’t catch a California Condor so we hope to next time around.

Make sure to come early to make the most of what Pinnacles has to offer. Watch where you step, but keep your head up. Bring water, a flashlight, sturdy shoes, and sun protection. If you’re going for a day hike, drive further in to make the trip more leisurely and take in the sights more.

This is one of my favorite nearby parks to see the stars and meteors showers! This is a great place to go during the cool season, they sometimes have shuttles from the campgrounds to the trailheads.

While campground in park it's not really close to most poi in park.
Sites further from entrance may have large vehicle access issues so planning accordingly we stayed in a dry site but there are some with hookups but that section is very parking lot like. There are also cabins. Has shower and pool
