Poet John Muir was enchanted and inspired by this area; Walt Disney fell under her spell as well when he envisioned a "Swiss Chalet" style resort which never came to fruition. The water wars of California began right here; gold rush...right here! "Kaweah" is the name given by the Indians for the sound the Crow makes. Three Rivers literally sits on slabs of quartz crystal, making rock hunting superb! As an energy practitioner, the quartz heightens the healing process; as well as creating an energy vortex. My property sits on an area that was once an Indian village, and then the school house for the children of the pioneers. There was a huge Hare Krishna Colony up here in the 60-70's. As a photographer and filmmaker, the lighting up here is amazing! The night skies literally pulsate with their celestial canopy. A great spot to sky watch as well! The property is not kid-friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this is not personal but I prefer no children xo Also, I prefer no pets, as it disrupts the balance here with the animal residents :) I share fresh eggs when available :) (The shower is not available to guest :)

Joe's space was perfect for our family of 4. It was nice to explore the National Parks during the day and have a place to relax in the evenings. It's close to restaurants and shops in Three Rivers and just 4 miles from the entrance to Sequoia NP. My children also enjoyed exploring the river just a short drive away. The property is quiet. Joe was friendly, had great tips for our visit and was responsive when we had a slight issue. We hope to visit the area again and would happily stay at Joe's in the future. Highly recommend!

Sequoia Highland camp was beautiful. We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The campground is beautiful, incredibly clean, and so family friendly. The hosts were responsive and helpful. The bathrooms deserve a special mention. I’m very particular about cleanliness, and they were spotless every single time we used them. They were maintained to a standard I truly appreciated. My family enjoyed watching the sunset from sunset swing and roasting marshmallows around the community fire pit. It was a memorable experience for my kids. We also loved seeing the cows on the property. Cow #59 became a favorite and stopped by our yurt to visit several times, which my family absolutely loved. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-maintained campground with thoughtful hosts and a welcoming atmosphere, I can’t recommend this place enough. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Dunlap Canyon Retreat

Prior to arrival we were switched/upgraded for a maintenance reason. It's nice that our original place was checked and the problem found before we got there! We arrived in the afternoon after visiting Forestiere and Cat Haven. Our yurt (#2) was clean and comfortable, facing a field and a big pond in the distance. It was hot (note: mid-July near Fresno) but I opened the skylight, the door, and window flaps were open so wind flowed through the screens. We saw lots of quail, some bunnies, and a frog in the field. Around 8p we were told that there would be a movie shown outside near the office @ 9p which was a fun surprise. We went to the big inflatable outdoor screen to watch Project Hail Mary which I hadn't seen or read before. We were also offered fresh popcorn and the weather was perfect to sit out with my adult daughter, a couple of other people, and Snowflake one of the camp dogs to watch. I took a quick shower near the end, which was great after such a long, hot day, and my daughter caught me up on the movie. There were a couple of tent sites directly behind our yurt so we heard their convos but going to watch the movie, gave us/them some privacy and we fell asleep as soon as we got back. The vibe there was a community/cooperative campground with the freedom to do what we needed to be self-sufficient, but also to interact with others as well. Be prepared if there's hot weather, but things worked out really great- thank you!

Also, I thought that it was going to be further from the actual park but not a bad drive at all! 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone taking a trip to sequoia.

Weekend Trip to Sequoia Highland Camp

We love this camp and the cabins we stayed at. The thought put into building the cabins in an eco-friendly manner, the cozy lighting, the coffee provisions and their charm made us a repeat visitor. If adults need a summer camp, I would recommend grabbing your group of friends and coming here. We enjoyed the stargazing site, the sunset spot, the naps in the hammocks, the fire pit at sunset and the rec house for group activities. The host were generous and easy to communicate with. The amount of biodiversity among which we got to stay made it more enchanting. We ran into some deer and foxes enroute to the cabins. The mature oaks, the mistletoes, the oak galls, the hawks, the flannel bush, the manzanitas, the wild flowers, the wild oats and the grazing cows made it a joy to wander around. The land has some interesting rocks if you are into geology. It was easy to give kids a check list and set them on a treasure hunt to occupy them. Access to nature, a cabin and good coffee was the solution we needed and found it here.

2 nights at OrangeRay~Three Rivers

Staying with Wendi was amazing! Laying out by the river felt serene and the stars at night were magical. There are also a lot of stores, coffee shops, and restaraunt close by. All of the animals were so cute and friendly, especially Zephy! The space was exactly as described, and Wendi was so sweet, helpful, and fun to chat with. We can’t wait to go back. Thank you Wendi for creating such a beautiful space and sharing it with others!

After a long day of hiking, relax on a California King-size circular bed. After your stay the sleeping bags are yours to keep, if you don't want them we will donate them. Enjoy some TV and Wifi or just enjoy nature!

This place was so cool. The entire concept is very unique and we greatly enjoyed this glamping experience. We stayed in tree tent #2, which was a bit further up the hill, so if you don’t want to climb as many stairs I’d recommend staying in #1. The tent did get very hot so I’d definitely bring a top sheet to sleep with vs the provided sleeping bags if you’re visiting in the summer! Overall 10/10, would stay again!

King's Canyon is BEAUTIFUL. We had the chance to hike some of their rivers and creeks and it's just the best place to go for some peace and quiet. It is quite hot during this time (August) but if planned well I'm sure it'll be no problem. Going to start an annual tradition of coming to this park!

Amazing National Park

This is my favorite National Park. There is no service throughout most out the park. The views are amazing. It is coolest part is closed during the snow season about November to January depending on how bad the snow is. The top of the park will stay open. Grants grove is a few miles from the front gate and not far from the visitor center. However most people don't even get to Hume Lake and turn around and leave. Hume Lake and Ten mile road are several miles from Grants grove south. If you didn't make it to Ten mile road you never saw the canyon. The place to be is at end road loop. End road loop in a road that is one hour and ten minutes from the entrance. You get to drive down and through the canyon, you get to see the river and water flows. At the end there is a massive temperature difference being cooler, and Muir lake. There plenty of walks and hiking to be done. Take a dip in the cold water. It's rough at first but you'll get use to it. The views are phenomenal. You'll hear nothing but wind, trees, water, and animals. The long drive down scares everyone away. Hume Lake has a gas station and there is one at the Kings Canyon RV campground and Gas station. If you have an electric vehicle be smart 🤓. The tow out is ridiculous $$$$.
