Good small NP
Its a small remote park, you can visit in 2 days, 1 day visit Lehman cave and small hike such as the lakes loop, other day Wheeler peak or Glacier trail depending on your fitness level. Campground are very nice with creeks close to the campsites BUT terrible weather in the summer, crazy winds and thunderstorms every day. Not the best place for tent camping

All NP Park Rangers are Awesome
It’s way out there, but worth the drive. It will be nice once the cave tours are open again (lighting updates). Summit Wheeler Peak was also a great hike.

Great Basin National Park
If you are into nature and awesome views this is for you. If you are into remote areas, this is for you. Scenery is beautiful and the quietness is something to be imagined. Getting there is a trek as it's out in no man's land, but the juice is worth the squeeze.

Park was small and I think if you are a hiker it would be quite entertaining. However, unless you have good mobility, the sighseeing via driving is not that spectacular. If the conditions are correct it would be really cool to see the milky way but that didn't align with our visit.

Great Basin was unique and definitely worth seeing. From the cave tour to the Bristlecone pines (oldest living thing on the planet) the park offered a blend of educational experiences. I suggest 2-3 nights max and be prepared with food as there are limited options, especially during the week.

The park was better than expected. We were traveling to California and stopped here on the way. We didn't have much time but hiked to the two alpine lakes. It was a nice, short hike. We view the overlooks on the way up also. I wish we had time to hike to the glacier.

A beautiful park with experiences you won't find in any other NP. The drive to the top is not for the faint of heart but well worth the experience. Best advice here is to stay hydrated, especially if you do any hiking at the 10K elevation. Lehman Caves tours: skip the 30 min lecture one, go for the hour tour to really get to see the caverns.
