Kolob Campground is located adjacent to the Kolob Reservoir boat ramp and dock, including four acres of private shoreline. Just a few feet from the paved road, nestled in tall aspen, oak,
and pine trees.
Access to potable water is available adjacent to camp, and public restrooms (vault toilets) are only a short walk from camp.
WiFi access is available nearby at Kolob Adventure Rentals/Adventure Beach (3 minute walk). WiFi location and password provided by host upon request. This is an exclusive benefit available to our guests, and the only WiFi available to campers in the area.

Picturesque camping in the protected hilltops of beautiful Lydia’s Canyon. This camping destination is located on private land and offers a long list of unique and attractive features. Conveniently located just a couple of minutes off Highway 89, it’s the perfect stopover between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.
Special features, including private fishing ponds, a large pavilion equipped with tables and chairs, fire pits, kayaks, and Wi-Fi, make your stay easy and enjoyable. Campers can also enjoy clean, hot showers and flushing toilets.
You will have access to the multi-acre campground, where you can choose your preferred tent or RV site. We DO allow camping vans without hookups in our tent sites. Two of our four new RV sites have full hookups (Sites 3 & 4), while the other two (Sites 1 & 2) have water and electrical hookups only. All RV sites are equipped with 30- and 50-amp service.
You will also have access to the large pavilion for gathering, cooking, or shelter from the elements. The clean bathhouse features two shower rooms with on-demand hot water and flushing toilets.
As an added bonus, guests have access to the ponds and may use the boat, canoe, or kayaks. Catch-and-release fishing is also permitted if you bring your own fishing equipment. Keeping a fish, including one that is accidentally killed, requires an additional fee. If you are interested in booking a fishing experience, please reach out to us for more details.
There are seven available tent sites and four RV sites with hookups. No beds or tents are provided, so please bring your own camping supplies. Common areas, including the pavilion and bathhouse, are shared with all campground guests.
Lydia’s Canyon is known for its lush green fields, overflowing freshwater ponds filled with native fish, Canada geese, turkeys, excellent birdwatching, deer, farmland, cows, horses, and, last but not least, kind and welcoming residents who are happy to help make your stay memorable.
Wi-Fi is currently unavailable but is expected to be available before September.
Please follow the posted speed limit in Lydia’s Canyon. We ask that you do not exceed 15 mph on the gravel roads.
No parties, excessive noise, or bright lights are permitted after 10 p.m.

Our latest addition! A "cowboy cabin" is a simple cabin somewhere between camping and a hotel room. Ours has electricity, heat and AC, a bunk bed that can sleep 3, mini fridge, microwave and wall mounted TV. Like most cowboy cabins, it does not have its own plumbing, but our famously clean private restrooms with showers are just a 50ft walk.
This is the perfect get a way to hold your next family reunion or special event! We welcome events on property and for a small fee can rent out our community spaces while you are a guest here.
Priced about the same as our RV sites, it's a great option for campers who need a break from your tent!
Reservation Booking Fee- A $20 booking fee applies to all reservations at Cedar Canyon RV Retreat, regardless of the booking platform used. If the booking fee is not collected by the third-party platform at the time of reservation, the $20 fee will be added to your reservation balance and collected at check-in or at the time final reservation charges are processed. HipCamp guests may manually select this fee as an add-on to pay the required booking fee in advance. Adding it to your reservation means your booking fee is taken care of before arrival, so you won’t need to have it added to your balance or pay it at check-in.

In the middle of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument; adjacent to Bryce Canyon National Park; within walking distance of Kodachrome Basin State Park; and an easy drive to Zion and Capital Reef National Parks, as well as Lake Powell National Recreational Area, this unique site is an opportunity not to miss. The pet/horse friendly property (approximately 9 acres/3 ha/64 sq. m) boasts private designated single tent sites, and a mix car camping and larger RV sites, as well as paleontological, geological, biological, astronomical, and historical interests of the ranch. The equestrians will find three paddocks, a round pen, as well as beautiful places to ride from the ranch.
This secluded location has a small town of Cannonville Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Visitor Center. And, bonus, the in town campground has: high speed internet, and cell phone service and laundry. This ranch and campground is an off the grid, passive/active solar voltaic, so no electricity, no internet and only Verizon works here. In Tropic 12 miles distant all carriers get service.
Potable water, shower, dish washing station and composting toilet (This means that all campers count when booking, even the kids...their poops add up too).
The views are spectacular from any site where the xeroscaped landscape uses indigenous material and plants to complement the quintessential Pinon/Juniper ecosystem the campground sits in. On three sides you are surrounded by red cliffs in the Carmel Formation which can give shelter from wind and sun, but campers can also look out over the Paria River (you can hear the river from camp as well as its amphibians) which runs south in front of the property and eventually meets the Colorado River at Lee’s Ferry where most put-in to raft the Grand Canyon. Looking north, one sees the meaning of the term “Grand Staircase” by viewing The Entrada, Tropic Shale, Straight Cliffs, Wahweap, Kaiparowits, and Pink Limestone Formations capped by late Tertiary Volcanism; or, the “steps” of Promise Rock, Sand Point, Powell Point, and the Aquarius Plateau (highest forested mesa in North America at over eleven thousand feet.).
The biological diversity here is also astounding:
Birds: 140 species and counting including the tiny Costa’s Humming Bird all the way up to the enormous California Condor.
Plants: 2 species of Sagebrush, 4 species of trees, numerous grass species, and a plethora of beautiful wildflowers and cacti.
Reptiles: Many species of snakes and lizards. Unfortunately, this includes the occasional rattlesnake. It is advised that you have your pets vaccinated.
Amphibian: Toads and Salamanders
Insects: There are very few mosquitos. There are a few biting Deer Flies, and worse yet, those damn gnats. These “no-see-ums” are temperature dependent so are not a bother in the shade, early mornings, late evenings and at night. It is recommended that you bring some kick ass insect repellant and a “bee hat” if you are out and about in the sun during the day between May and July.
Fossils: Bivalves, snails, petrified wood (many types) and various other corals, insects and plant fossils abound and are often incorporated into the ranch infrastructure. The nearby area is considered the hottest paleontological spot on the planet.
Astronomy: The area is widely considered to be under the darkest skies in the lower 49. The Milky Way and Presides are common sights without the unsightly annoyance of any neighbor’s lights.
The climate is varied and interesting. All four seasons are here and occasionally all in one day. Winter snows melt quickly though temperatures can dip into the sub-zeros. The 5,900 ft./1800 m. elevation keeps the summer temps reasonable and always gives a chilly summer evening to cool things off. If you want climatic extremes, you can, within an hour or so, be at Lake Powell and its 100+ F/38+ C heat or on the Aquarius Plateau at 65 degrees F/18 C in midday June.
Recreation on many levels is all within proximity. Our story begins with a little old lady, our grandma, who believed with all her heart that we were worth it. She passed a few years ago, and what better way to honor her belief in us than to create Ethel's Hideout. We came from a small ranching family, which has brought us closer than we ever imagined. Hard work and dedication were imprinted on us from a young age. On this land we have built an RV pull-through, camp sites, and horse stalls. One day we hope to have some small cabins to share with you all.
Ethel's is your home away from home. We border agriculture and sate and public lands which provides an authentic western experience. Though tucked away to give the illusion of seclusion, we are located only 7 miles from downtown Kanab Utah. Kanab features many fun and exciting events throughout the year. Located right in the heart of several national parks, Zions, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell and many more fun things to tour. Hook ups include power and water. Our most unique feature is horse stalls on site. Bring your horses with you and reserve stalls for them as well. Our convenient location offers direct access to ride on public lands. Traveling with horses? We have just the spot with (8) 12′ x 14′ covered stall. Contact us to book stalls for your horses to stay over night with you.

Our stay at Ranchito Feliz was truly special! Roy is such a wonderful, welcoming host who goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. He personally took the time to show us around his beautiful property, meeting donkeys, sharing stories, and making us feel less like guests and more like old friends. His warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality made our experience unforgettable.
Ranchito Feliz is a cool little gem nestled in some of the most beautiful country imaginable, with so many incredible national parks and natural wonders nearby. There’s something amazing about a place that offers not only a peaceful spot to camp but also the opportunity to connect with someone as kind and genuine as Roy.
We’re so grateful we had the chance to stay here and meet him. We had a great time at Ranchito Feliz. Roy got us set up and oriented smoothly. He was such a good resource for attractions in the area and a wonderful host. We had a large site for our small trailer with terrific views. Clean composting toilet area and brisk shower were welcome amenities. Roy was the difference between a nice trip and an outstanding experience.

This was our second visit, and you could see all the improvements made to what was already a great facility. Gil and Tiffany are terrific hosts, dedicated and fun to talk to. The camp is a great base for visits to Zion, Bryce, Coral Pink Sands, and a number of other destinations.

This was such a special trip for us, and I’m so happy we found this place!
One of the most important things for me when traveling is being able to bring my three dogs. They’re family, and leaving them behind is never something I want to do. One of my dogs, Luna, was diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year. She used to love hiking and exploring with us, and after months of treatment, we finally got the amazing news that her tumor was no longer visible. This was not only my birthday trip, but also a very special one for Luna. Being able to have her there with us, along with our other two dogs, meant more to me than I can explain. I’m incredibly grateful we found a place that welcomed all three of them.
The place itself was wonderful! After spending long days hiking and exploring, having a comfortable bed, a clean restroom, and a hot shower was amazing. I especially loved that there were both indoor and outdoor showers! Having a little store nearby where we could grab essentials without worrying about driving somewhere else was also really convenient. And of course, being able to enjoy a campfire at night was the perfect way to end the day. Not every place allows that, and it’s one of my favorite parts of camping.
The location was another huge plus! We used it as our home base for exploring Zion, where I got to hike Angels Landing, and we also visited Bryce Canyon and took the dogs hiking in the surrounding area. Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park was another highlight, especially because we could bring the dogs along.
I also absolutely loved exploring the little town! Whenever I travel, I enjoy discovering local coffee shops, and I found a great one here. We took the dogs to the local park and spent some time just enjoying the town itself. It was such a charming area, and I’m glad we got to experience more than just the national parks.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we actually tried to extend it for a few more days, but unfortunately, it was already booked! That probably says enough about how much we loved it.
Since we’re only a few hours away in Las Vegas, I can definitely see us coming back for a shorter getaway, just to relax, explore the area, sit around a campfire, and enjoy some quality time with our dogs.
This trip will always have a special place in my heart, especially because of Luna. Thank you for giving us a place where our whole family could be together and make these memories. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially those traveling with their four-legged family members! 💚

We loved staying at Roy's property! He is very hospitable and puts so much attention to detail into every campsite. Everything is very well manicured and the location is private and quiet. Our favorite was petting the adorable donkeys :) Highly recommend!

The camp was nicely illuminated which I was greatful for as i was arriving in the dark. It wasn’t bright enough to be disturbing in a tent. The restroom was very nice and clean, they also had extra supplies left behind in case you need forgot anything! The cafe was a nice tough in the morning before heading to Zion! Totally would stay again!

We could not be more thankful to have found this amazing camp site! We were able to relax at our waterfront campsite, enjoy the shade at the pavilion, paddle around the pond in the provided kayaks, take a dip in the water, and explore the property and many animals around it! The black and white dog that visited us a few times was the sweetest!
You truly feel like you have been transported to summer camp while staying here. We will definitely be returning!
