Absolutely stunning!
One of the most beautiful campsites we’ve ever been to! The surroundings are genuinely breathtaking. Yes it’s rustic, and Bill gives fair warning about that, but we didn’t feel like we were missing anything (just make sure you have plenty of water). Make sure you read Bill’s messages before arriving as there’s no check-in process and you can pitch your tent wherever you like – the fire pits give you some ideas where’s best! The campsite is vast, we actually didn’t see the end of it, which means you get loads of privacy (we were at least 500ft from the next tent). But at the same time, there was a nice social atmosphere and we ended up sharing stories round a fire with our neighbours. The portaloos were clean. A picnic table would have been nice, but again, we knew it was fairly basic. The only warning I would give (and Bill gives) is about driving on the dirt track when it’s wet. When dry, we had no problems in a Ford Edge AWD. However we were caught in a storm. Our iPhones broadcasted a warning not to travel, so it must have been a particularly heavy amount of rain. The dirt track has a steep gradient, with bends, and a cliff to one side. Not the kind of road you’d want to slide on. We waited it out with fellow guests and its seemed to be ok after an hour of sun. You may get stranded for a bit, but that’s all part of the adventure. Anyways, check the forecast if you’re nervous. The fact I’d wholeheartedly recommend this place even after getting a bit stuck says it all!

The views were stunning! It’s hard to capture how gorgeous it is in a photo. We would absolutely camp here again. Very peaceful and we felt completely secluded as the next camper was very far away. Getting up the dirt road was not difficult and we had a Kia Forte.

The space at Bill’s was amazing. You can pick a spot wherever you want over so much area that you can still have a private camp spot. Fire pits and toilets are dotted all around the campsite that you can choose to pitch next to. The road leading up is red dirt, dry when we went but I can imagine it gets quite slippy with rain.
