This Outpost and campground is located on 300 acres of private property surrounded by park and public land. It has been here for over 30 years in some form or another. We are Caleb & Amber who enjoyed managing this little oasis in the middle of the desert from March to June of 2017 when we decided to purchase the business & make it our own. This is a dry, rugged campground with a bathhouse that provides coin operated showers and flush toilets. In addition there is little old rustic camp store placed in the middle of nowhere where we provide fuel, snacks, firewood, ice, showers, cold drinks & more. If you are looking for a more private site with lots of space and shade, book our Small Group at the Rocks. For a warmer stay during the cooler months book one of our Glamping Tents listed. We have the larger, and spacious tent in the grove of the Juniper Trees (which is also amazing in the warmer season) and rent a heater from us inside the general/camp store. Please check with us on fire restrictions, hipcamp is often wrong on their assumptions, we rarely have fire restrictions. BE SURE TO GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO CHECK IN NO LATER THAN 5PM. A home just off main street in Moab Utah. The house is part of a spiritual community and the property is burning man like with fun local art. There is a community space just down the road that offers early morning meditation, ecstatic dance nights and other events. There are two spaces for guests, one is a Japanese camper-van that can comfortably sleep 2 (maybe plus 1 child on top bunk). The other space is a camp room inside the community home. The room is tiny, best for 1 guest. All guests may use the bathroom and kitchen inside the home. We keep an Ahimsa space and would like guests to respect that, No smoking or substance use on the property. Please only vegetarian foods inside the spaces. All cleaning products, bathing products, sheets and towels are natural and organic. There are house pets, a cat and a boxer dog. We are a husband-and-wife team that purchased raw land in 2020 and have been building Glamping Canyonlands ever since. We privately own and operate a sustainable off grid property. We proudly run our business off solar power. We have a recycling and compost program along with happy pasture raised chickens and free range kittens. We work to reduce waste by supporting businesses that focus on the environment, health and using non-plastic products where we can. We use simple, clean, natural cleaning products. We do not use single use plastic and provide washable cotton paper towels and hand towels. We work with locals to bring you tours, pastries, breads and hand crafted souvenirs for you to remember your trip. We have a mix of different unique units so there is something for everyone. 3 bell tents, 1 stargazing lotus tent, 1 safari tent, cedar pod, moon stargazing barrel, solar powered casita and an unfurnished high rise tent. We have 22 acres and we are currently using around 5 acres. We like to space out our units so there is privacy at every units. We have a communal kitchen that is equipped to make some gourmet meals. Flat top grill, BBQ Box, pizza oven and a stove. Communal modern bathrooms with hand towels and bath supplies are available. Sauna is available to our guests along with coffee and breakfast delivery. Late check-ins are available. Located on private and rural land 40 mins South of Moab and 40 mins from the entrance of The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park (the hikers paradise park!) Our land borders Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands and State Trust Lands which means you have a panoramic view of the desert landscape and dark skies. We are surrounded by Dark Sky National Parks, State Park, Monuments and communities. Because of this, light population is almost non-existent. We built this place to be an escape or a place to unwind from our busy and loud daily lives. Embrace the break from the daily grind and find space here on the open desert. We opened to our first guests in October 2020 with only 3 bell tents, 1 bathroom and a kitchen inside a tent. Even though we have grown and improved the facilities, we are still a small husband and wife owned and run business. You will see us working and cleaning.

Indian Canyon Ranch is a rugged, isolated, off grid property which focuses on enjoying the outdoor beauty of our little corner of the spectacular American South West. Please be advised, that during heavy rain four-wheel drive may be necessary but in all cases low clearance vehicles are not ideal on the last section of road but if you arrive before dark and go slow any vehicle can make it. If you arrive after dark the last bit of road looks more challenging than it actually is due to shadows on the surface caused by the head lights. Units are not heated. Please plan to show up before dark for the best experience and ease of finding the location. Indian Canyon Ranch is proud to be an independent, off grid property with limited solar power and water available. There are no RV hook ups available but there is limited solar power in the rental units and in the communal area but not in the primitive campsites. Campsites are primitive camping only. Showers in the main communal area are solar powered and only hot with the sun and for an hour or so after sunset Joe purchased this property in 2008. At that time, it was 8 acres, and it is now at 20 acres continuous property. The ranch is situated 2 miles off the highway down a bumpy dirt road on the edge of the national forest, this gives you a feeling of being in the wilderness. The south and east sides are boarded by canyons and ruins. All other private properties in the area are 10 acres or more so are well spread out and sparsely populated. All the structures on site were brought here piece by piece and were salvaged from construction projects in Yosemite and Grand Canyon national parks. Water is manually hauled in and the power in the kitchen area is solar generated so please be conscious of water and power use.

We have never glamped before staying at Glamping Canyonlands. What a great find through hipcamp! Close but not in the crowds to explore The Needles District. Erik and Keshie’s thoughtful touches and witty humor made the stay fantastic! They really have thought about all the small details needed for a great stay. The ability to cook over fire or use the community kitchen (thankful for the french press), the showers/toilets, hammocks with shaded picnic tables. The kitties and chickens were fun to see and was great reading about their story on how they built Glamping Canyonlands. Stargazing at night and quiet mornings. We can’t wait to come back and bring friends!

Beautiful view of ridge in Moab, small dog park for dogs to run off leash and complimentary coffee and pastries at their office made it extra special. This was a very safe space with clean bathrooms and kitchen for use. Our tent was toasty upon arrival too. This place is fun because you meet people from around the world and have cool conversations. Being so close to town was nice as well cause you can be there in 5 minutes to walk the streets. Tons of stores and places to eat. Loved this experience and hiking the national parks!

I absolutely love this place! The vibes and aesthetic of it are perfect; Keshia and Erik have beautiful taste. The place was immaculately clean - cleaner than some hotels, and this is an outdoor accommodation. The facilities were always available and very tidy, full of any supplies you could need. The sauna was such a highlight and easy to book. There were even kittens and chickens running around, which added so much to the experience. Our space felt very private while being close to the amenities. Keshia and Erik make it look easy running this place! 100% will be back!

Squaw Flat Campground
What a fantastic drive up to the campground! Unbelievable rock formations! Can’t remember what the name of the campground was. May not be Squaw Flat. It was at elevation and had a loop with about 8 campsites. Set up our chairs on the overlook and enjoyed a bottle of wine as the sunset

This park feels otherworldly. Be sure to take a trip into the visitors center museum to learn of the people who first called this place home and those who came after to try and make the most of the west. While you’re over here, don’t skip Dead Horse Point State Park. These views are insane!

Great park. So much to see depending on district you will have to spend days to see it all. I went to island in sky this trip. Don't miss Grand view, mesa arch and Upheaval Dome.

Island in the Sky and the Needles. Didn't make it to the Maze as we were not equipped on this trip. Do yourself a favor and also visit Dead Horse Point.

We were pretty worn out at the end of our day in Canyonlands from all the hikes we did to see all the beautiful sites! Nothing was difficult, we just did them all and It was well worth it! Photos don’t do it justice!

A beautiful stay at The Needles Outpost
Incredible campsite. Caleb and Amber were very inviting, the campsite is located a mile from the entrance to the park, and it feels full of history of and views
