Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. The Eagles' Nest Treehouse (mentioned above) is very isolated and you may or may not even be aware that there are other people within miles of you. For those who value nature, seclusion, quiet and the artistry of old growth redwood, this is the place for you.

Primitive sites are back-to-basics: no hookups, no structures, no potable water. There is non-potable water available for washing—please bring your own drinking water. A shared composting toilet is available to all campers. Winds can be strong in spring and summer, but sites are placed on the leeward side for protection. Fires are permitted when conditions allow—check with us on arrival.
We’re just 10 minutes from Tomales, 15 from Valley Ford, and 3.5 miles from Dillon Beach. Bring a kayak or canoe and paddle from camp to the Pacific via the Estero.
Primitive and RV Sites with sweeping views of West Marin pastureland at True Grass Farms, a working ranch along the Estero San Antonio. Our campsites are well spaced for privacy and quiet, surrounded by birdsong, grazing animals, and the rhythms of ranch life.
Each primitive site overlooks the Estero and is near a mowed grass road for easy access. It’s peaceful here at night—other campers may be nearby, but you’ll feel immersed in nature.

The River Electric is a camp resort and swim club featuring 40 furnished tents, two pools, a full-service restaurant and cocktail bar, and multiple event spaces. It’s available for daytime visits, overnights, and full event buy outs.
The River Electric is not a traditional campground - we do not allow guests to bring in stoves or outside food. We have a full bar and restaurant, communal fire pit and well-stocked camp store.
Our tented rooms have both king and double bed options with luxury bedding, lounge furnishings, and all the amenities of a boutique hotel. A centrally located bathhouse offers a variety of facilities including indoor and outdoor showers, single stall restrooms, and a dedicated area for getting ready.
Please note our tents share one main pathway and noise travels easily. We do not recommend overnights for families with children who do not sleep through the night or have difficulty adhering to quiet hours as this is disruptive for other guests. Similarly if you are looking for a silent retreat and require an early bedtime we may not be the right fit.
Quiet hours in the campground are 10pm-7am.
The River Electric offers two unique pool areas – the Main Pool, which is a 60-foot round pool at the heart of the property, and The Little Dipper Pool, our smaller rectangular pool that is available for private rental, and serves as our adult-only swimming area. Both pools are located at the center of the property, with easy access to The Pool Bar, restrooms and other amenities.
Access to the facilities begins at 4pm on the day of arrival and continues till the pool closes on your day of departure (6 pm or later depending on the day of the week).
The River Electric is nestled in the woods and walking distance from downtown Guerneville, a hidden gem in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, where towering redwoods meet riverfront charm. For lake fishing, Redbud Park, Highlands Park and Austin Park are all within a ten minute drive from Camp. Austin Park also has a playground and swimming beach.

It's 10 private forested acres of historical logging land, located just steps from downtown Gualala, (a 5 minute easy walk) where you will find shopping, restaurants. ATM and gas stations. You can walk to the Gualala Center of the Arts - a must see art gallery, concert and event space.
It's a short drive to local beaches, the county park and more. Kayaking is available at the Gualala River from our friend Efi at River Bend Kayaks, just two minutes away.
Hiking at Gualala Regional Park, the Bluff Trail, The Sea Ranch public access beaches, Stump Beach, Salt Point Park with a petrified forest, Bowling Ball Beach with its amazing natural formations (can only be seen fully at low tide of more than -0.2m), Moat Creek just south of Point Arena, Manchester State Beach, Elk Beach, and more.

Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. Choose between the campground, the cabin, or both! You can add the cabin to your campground stay under "extras'!
The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area.
Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward.
'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here.
This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground.
Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days.
This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers.
Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

We are conveniently located off of US 101, therefore there may be some freeway noise, during commute hours especially. It has become like white noise to me, but it is only fair to mention it.
We offer full hookups which consists of 50 amp & 110 volt electrical outlets, potable water, sewage dump. We also have one pigtail available (with a refundable deposit) if needed to convert 50 amp to 30 amp. We also have one place in the middle of our big vineyards with a 30 amp and water only. No sewer.
Our sites are located one mile from Healdsburg plaza, the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country. Our town offers amazing wineries, fantastic restaurants, and quaint shops. It is an excellent place for wine lovers. There is a pre-prohibition winery right across the road called Foppiano. There are many other fabulous wineries are nearby. Ask the host for discount passes or complimentary tasting cards for some of the local wineries.
We are in an excellent location for outdoor adventurers. There are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as bike rental shops for those who enjoy trekking, and even a couple of rafting places right here on the Russian River.
We are close to places like Armstrong Woods, Safari West, Getaway Adventures, The Sonoma County Fairgrounds which hosts the Summer Country Concerts among other events, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa Full Camp; Half Marathons Camp; 5K, Sonoma Zip-line Adventures, and Much More!

Huckleberry bushes and ferns grow abundantly. The place lends itself to self-reflection and introspection. There is space for 1 RV with a patio table and chairs and some sun loungers. There are also 2 tent sites available on the property, located in one large area, further away from the RV sites. Barely 7 minutes away is downtown Gualala, with amenities such as 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, bakery, restaurants and more. There is a beautiful holistic gift store, The Sea Trader, Four Eyed Frog Bookstore, and some lovely art galleries in town. Kayaking is available at the Gualala River. Hiking at Gualala Regional Park, the Bluff Trail, The Sea Ranch public access beaches, Stump Beach, Salt Point Park with a petrified forest, Bowling Ball Beach with its amazing natural formations (can only be seen fully at low tide of more than -0.2m), Manchester State Beach, Elk Beach, and more. Swimming at the Navarro River, and various bays. It is a place of incredible scenic beauty all along CA 1. Watch whales spouting during whale season. (Gray whales and orcas is December to May. For humpbacks, visit May through November, and for blue whales, the largest animal on Earth, plan your stay between July and October). Bower Park, just 0.5 miles away with a lovely lake, tennis courts, a baseball field, a basketball court, and two separate playgrounds. Play disc golf or hike along the nature trail/fitness course. Anchor Bay is 5 miles up CA 1, with a supermarket, a few cafes, restaurants (including a great Thai place!) laundromat, hair salon, and more. The quaint town of Point Arena is 12 miles north, with a supermarket, Frannie's Cup And Saucer, The Bird Cafe, a beautiful historic lighthouse, a theater, a pier, a mini-safari park (B Bryan Preserve with zebras, giraffes and more. Tours need to be booked in advance). Also visit Roots, a natural pharmacy for herbs, teas and supplements.
There are also spots like Occidental, Bodega Bay, Jenner (with the Russian River to kayak and swim) and Timber Cove, all on the way to Gualala from the south. Bodega Bay has lovely spots to eat, with clam chowder, fish and chips. Enjoy wind and water sports, and walk on the pier.

Welcome to our land in the beautiful wilderness of upper Calistoga. Our land is a nature experience, with some development of trails and amenities, at our family land just 10 minutes outside of Calistoga with all the wineries, spas, and restaurants. The hilltop (where Coral Cabin is located) has electricity and wifi, and is a common area for all campers. The main house and deck are not part of the hipcamp; the tenants are a nice family and caretakers of the land, but not the hosts so please do not disturb.
Our sites are no frills, cute and rustic, and “user responsible” meaning the price includes basic “leave no trace”cleaning guidelines. Because of this, communication with Dan is super important to ensure expectations are clear for you and us, our land is respected, and you have a great time!
Rules for all sites, read before you book!
1. We provide trash bags and ask that you take all trash and recycling to the bottom of the driveway, in the 'hipcamp' trash bin provided (smaller grey bin by mailbox).
2. We have a compost toilet system designed by a graduate of the Occidental Ecology Center permaculture course. It has pros and cons, but when operated correctly, it is a good system: All you gotta do is add mulch (which is any dried leaves or grass), on top of your own biz and it begins to break down waste immediately, including smell. If in doubt, add more mulch; you can find it in a bin by the toilet or gather a handful at time of service. Or: There are also nice coffee shops in town:)
3. The nature of our land being wild, there are no wood fires allowed. We have propane fire pits, and ask guests to use extreme caution with bug candles or smoking anything.
We currently have 3 campsites. Please see descriptions for each campsite access and services available. *The Hilltop/Coral Cabin has the best large RV access, Wi-Fi and electricity, and the best views. Each campsite has a gas camping stove and compost toilet.
You will see lots of wildlife! Beautiful birds song every morning, little lizards everywhere, turkeys, a toad here and there! You can hike the extent of our 34 acres on fire roads that lead to the top of the Whaleback Ridge, seen in the distance from all camps. That would be an epic sunset hike!

This was such a magical space. We camped in the yurt and had a view of the ocean through the redwoods. The trees here are absolutely magical and you can tell that Rick and Jill care deeply about the land. The town is very easily in walking distance and we loved the farmers market on Saturday. The hosts were on top of hospitality and checked in on our water levels and made sure we were enjoying ourselves even curating some music for us in the yurt. I highly recommend getting a kayak nearby and there are lots of interesting historical and artsy things to check out in the area. The sound of the ocean and the vibrance of the stars made the trip for me and the drive up the coast was lovely.

Beautiful spot. We stayed in a trailer on the property which was very comfortable and spacious. Soooo quiet out there! Outside the trailer was a dry heat sauna, fire pit and chairs next to tall sunflowers and amaranth. Just a really great place to get away and minutes to Dylan beach.

What an amazing location. The property is in the redwoods and across the street from a creek. it's quiet except for some gorgeous birds and the stirring of the trees. We took a glorious nap on the hammock in the partial shade of redwoods and that night slept amazingly well on the comfy bed. We loved the location as it is close to Jenner and Duncan Mills. Sue is a lovely person who is a strong communicator. thank you!

My family spent 4 days/3 nights at Sugarloaf for our summer vacation, staying in Glamping Site #1 (Site 30). It was the perfect balance between traditional camping and the comfort of a camper or RV, complete with beds and chairs, and most importantly, no setup or takedown hassle.
The campground is clean, and the bathrooms are much nicer than many rest stops. The camp hosts are incredibly helpful, informative, providing support and modern essentials when needed.
There are MANY hiking trails for different skill levels, winding through meadows, forests, and creeks. Each trail offers its own reward, but two standout trails make the effort unforgettable: one with spectacular waterfalls and, at the summit, a breathtaking “top of the world” view stretching across Sonoma County all the way to SF Bay. The kind of views that make you forget how hard you had to work to get there. After your hike, stop by the Visitors Center and reward yourself with an It’s-It ice cream sandwich, which they keep well stocked!
The grounds are beautiful, with fascinating flora and fauna. There is an Observatory nearby, which you should take a cue from and look up, because the night sky is incredible! With virtually no light pollution, you can see countless stars and even the Milky Way. But don’t get lost at night, or you may get guided back by the headless hiker. 😱

We loved it!! Cabin was awesome and great amount of space for 10 person tent and both of our cars. Our dogs loved exploring. G was an amazing host! Super responsive to messages and incredibly friendly! Campsite was close to all the beaches, places to kayak and the supermarket. Would definitely camp here again. I highly recommend!

This place was incredible! Cozy cabin in a stunningly beautiful location. The deck is worth is the price alone. I sat out there under the redwoods for 3 days then walked across the street and jumped in the creek. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a solo retreat or couples trip. Sue is great, too! She's really funny and she dropped off some fresh eggs. I love this place and will be back soon.
