We loved our tent camping experience on Vicki’s land! The view was spectacular, the night sky - incredible, and the weather perfect for the few days we spent there. We were fortunate to have a perfect spot for our camping experience, large enough for our large tent and a site where we could set up our outdoor gear. We had a blow up couch that was really comfortable and if you can bring one with you we would highly recommend it! It made our outdoor experience really comfortable. But of course it isn’t necessary lol. The flush toilets and shower were a bonus, definitely liked that. The land was fun to explore and we will definitely be coming back! Rick was helpful when we had questions, and we were greeted when arrived shown to our campsite, and Solo the camp dog was sweet to have around when we saw him. Definitely recommend this campsite, we felt safe and were comfortable, will be coming back again!

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
Vicki’s land was exactly as described: gorgeous views, serene, and hidden gem just an hour from SD. The drive up is not at all treacherous as others suggest, AWD not needed just drive slow & avoid the potholes. A lot of care has gone into creating range of experiences from basic camping to luxury stays and all campers have access to some of the nicest, hottest indoor showers I’ve seen at a camp. The deck lookout is truly special and stars were stunning even with the full moon and city lights from below. We camp a LOT and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a unique campground experience.
Things I wish I knew: the tent sites are assigned on arrival, many are small, exposed, and close together with hearing/seeing other campers at their sites and walking by, loud quad bikes, solo the dog (who is SO sweet though did not have the best recall when he approached our reactive dog while he was eating dinner). Many will love the community created here! For us, there was just a lot of activity (even with only half the sites booked) which takes away from the serenity and peace we hope for in the outdoors.
We’d love to return and trial another site as all have variable views, quality of furniture, and environment (ex. Our site was shaded but only a small table too unstable for food prep vs picnic tables at others, we were also near the pig barn w/ horrible flies from 11-4 pm). We always use our tent but may consider trying the “glamp camp” sites which seem more private!

Both Vicky and Rich are super nice and very friendly hosts. My son and I arrived felt overcome after driving through daunting unpaved, long narrow (single lane) winding, clif hanging road but they warm welcome us. I don't think I would drive that road again. I like the flush toilets, hot water outdoor shower and bathroom sink. Enough shades from oak trees. Some sites have view. On our tent site I spot three dog poops here and there that I used available dirty chairs to cover so we don't step. That's not good at all. Neighbor campers were all nice. No loud or wild party. All were respectful. Next site campers even shared watermelon with us.

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
Vicki's land is a wonderful place to decompress and relax. This was our second 1-night camping trip there, and it was a little more crowded on a holiday weekend and with lots of workers there on a Friday. We had a choice of three spots, and we unfortunately chose one that had a lot of fire ants, so just scope out the ground before you pick a spot. We will be more careful next time, but absolutely plan to come back.

We love this place, tent sites are spacious, most with at least one beautiful tree to bring freshness. This is a real off-the-grid retreat experience (even if the mobile network is still good), no big attractions, just relax and walk around. Vicki and Rich are super nice, bringing like a family vibe.

We loved tent camping here! It was the perfect place to go and be in the quiet and enjoy nature. Even with other people not too far from you, they were quiet and respectful. The views made you speechless, even right in front of your face it seemed fake. The multiple bathroom and hygiene facilities were all clean and stayed stocked. All the water on site is well water and tastes amazing. The camp dog, Solo, was the best greeter I've met in all my travels. The road up is ROUGH, but we were able to get our rear wheel drive sedan up there with ease.
The flies and other flying insects become bad during the day, they are apparently immune to bug spray and citronella. We really enjoyed what Vicki and Rich have built, we'll definitely be back with some friends ❤️🏕

The property is nice and quiet well kept we loved the outdoor showers and the amazing views! But be aware their are no hiking trails, the closest trails or any kind of recreational activity are about 45mins away. While driving up the road it eventually goes to dirt and the higher you go up the mountain the road becomes very narrow. I would highly suggest not driving to location in the dark. This spot is not for low-clearance vehicles of any kind. Host was very nice and responsive!

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
Overall, we had a good camping experience and Vicki was very friendly and welcoming. Our group had a great time and enjoyed the stay.
A couple of things future campers should be aware of: there was a fire ant colony at our campsite, and a rooster started crowing around 4:00 AM each morning, which made sleeping in difficult.
Aside from those issues, we enjoyed our trip and appreciated Vicki’s hospitality.

Cool place to set up and enjoy a mountain environment. The hosts were friendly. Nice views and it was just the right amount of seclusion while being in a community camp that has amenities.

We had an amazing time camping here. It was peaceful and beautiful. The vibe of the entire property was great. Vicki was so kind of welcoming and we could tell a lot of pride and love has gone into this place. My only advise is to make sure you are prepared for an unpaved drive up and down the mountain - I'd recommend only taking a vehicle with higher clearance and good traction.

The journey up the mountain was so worth it! I arrived to solo camp and was greeted by a welcoming dog and my host! I felt so safe, well taken care of, and the campsite was gorgeous. Bathrooms were great, and I had such a lovely time. It even rained so I slept like a log. Thank you so much for a lovely camping experience!

Awesome, quiet escape an hr from San Diego! Host Rich was incredibly nice and helpful, the property has many different camping accommodations for an incredible variety of comfort level. Was there by myself essentially and was able to explore the property l, all the camping spots looked super clean and had great views! Definitely would visit again as a solid and fun quick getaway from San Diego. The final 4 miles drive up to the campground was a little rough but I had no problems with a run of the mill Subaru Outback

There was a fire pit, two chairs and a bench as well as a wonderful view.

Beautiful location with stunning views! Our tent cabin was very cute & clean. We slept comfortably & weren’t cold at all despite the cold nighttime temps. Great experience!

We had a lovely time camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch! Spacious sites, clean showers, and exceptional hosts in Rich and Vicki. The views were spectacular and the campsite was quiet and peaceful. Lots of birds, from jays and woodpeckers to bluebirds and songbirds galore. Overall a fantastic place to spend the weekend; can’t wait to return!

Awesome space for getting out of the city. Vicki puts in much effort to accommodate and welcome those who visit the special land. She has many intersting stories and experiences to share, and her staff are also friendly and helpful to orienting those arriving to the ranch.
Worth noting- there are limited resources, so pack in cooler, food, cooking supplies such as stove/ mess kit, and know there are limitations to cleaning up after meals. ( recommend bio-degradble soap/ sponge- water spickets are available through the campsites.)
As a person who enjoys simplicity- fire, tent, food, I find this campground ideal for car/ tent campsites.
Each time I visit it is ever-evolving and noticed there are impressive new mini- home on wheels for those craving a more glamping friendly experience, which would be great for older folks/ small families.
Overall it is very nice place to slow down and recenter when life feels overwhelming-at a very budget friendly cost. Also learning more of the lands history, and the efforts to sustain this area make me feel happy to support Vicki's efforts as steward of this nature!

Vicki was very nice to us, and the property and view is beautiful. We had a great tent site, and the public restrooms and showers were clean. We drove up with a truck so had no problems, but highly suggest a truck or SUV for the road up there!

Awesome experience! Vicki is a very kind host and very approachable. Leigitimately wants her guests to have a good time. Serenity ranch is high rewards to cost ratio for the San Diego native albeit a bit of an offroad experience getting there. I personally loved it but if you got a compact car, getting into the ranch may take you a bit longer. This place is also super dog friendly which we appreciate bringing our hunting dog there. Highly reccomend!

What a beautiful location, we had a large group and everyone was able to camp around the cabin. The glamping tent has a WONDERFUL view. Vicky and Rich are both excellent hosts. We will absolutely be back soon!
