The campsites are well placed the river is right beside them. There’s an interstate highway very nearby, close enough that you can hear it at all times

I had a fantastic experience at Juan's land, High View at The Brazos River! The campgrounds are spacious, offering plenty of room to set up and enjoy the outdoors. Although the site is quite primitive with minimal amenities, this simplicity adds to the charm and authenticity of the camping experience.
The location is undoubtedly a highlight, situated close to Mineral Wells State Park, which is a fantastic spot for outdoor activities and enjoying nature. The park's proximity allows for easy access to hiking trails, fishing spots, picturesque scenery and Showers!
The roadway to the campsite is something I personally enjoyed. It's a bit rugged and adds to the adventure, though I can understand it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Despite this, we managed to pull a trailer in and out without any issues, which speaks to the feasibility of accessing the site with larger vehicles.
In summary, if you're looking for a genuine, back-to-nature camping experience with beautiful surroundings and don't mind the lack of modern conveniences, Juan's High View at The Brazos River is an excellent choice. The spacious grounds, stunning location, and proximity to Mineral Wells State Park make it a worthwhile destination for any camper looking for a bit of adventure and tranquility.

Tent Camping w/ Labs!
Loved the stay. It was a bit bumpy on the ride into the campground. Our Toyota Rav4 had no problems but a small car may have a tough time. The host is very responsive and you can ask how the road looks.
Pros: small campground, my dogs were able to be offleash, drive up, large firepits(ours had no grate), on the river for fishing/kayaking/boating etc.
Cons: Very muddy, near a highway and you can hear traffic all night, campground needs some upkeep. Wish there was some type of picnic table.
I would camp here again but definitely stay closer to the front gate. Thank you for the stay Juan.

Beware - the road to this site is impassible and dangerous for non-high clearance 4X4s. We do not recommend this site - sadly.
