Weekend Trip to Smith Ridge Harper's Ferry

We stayed at this amazing tiny house during a recent bikepacking trip, and it was exactly what we needed. Clean, dry, and super cozy, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, and an inviting deck where we could relax and listen to the breeze in the trees. It feels remote enough to give you that "camping in the woods" experience, but it's still close to the main road for a quick run into town. The space was thoughtfully set up, with everything we needed to be comfortable after a long day of riding. The bed was large and comfortable, and the hot shower was a total luxury. We loved spending time on the deck in the evening, soaking in the quiet and stars. The room even had a Keurig, and we spent a leisurely morning on the deck with coffee, serenaded by birds. What truly made the stay exceptional was the host, Matt. He went above and beyond to make sure we had water, cooking gear, and anything else we might need. Friendly, helpful, and respectful of our space — exactly the kind of person you hope to meet on the road. Highly recommend for any hiker, bikepacker, or traveler looking for a peaceful, well-equipped retreat in the woods. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Camp

My second stay at Brooklyn. Heights. It was rainy so I chose a cabin but there are some nice tent spots on the river. Super clean portapottis and Vincent is around to answer questions or take care of any problems. I particularly like that campers are expected to keep music confined to their campsite, so it's always pretty quiet.

We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely love to return in the future! Clear instructions and signs made finding our spot easy. Had probably the cleanest porta potty experience of my life. Campsite felt private with minimal bugs and LOTS of beautiful morning bird noises. The lands are definitely sacred and would highly recommend to any fellow lightworker or person in need of some nature healing 💖🌿

Vincent was very welcoming and we could tell he puts a lot of thought into the campground and the visitor's stay. Can't wait to see what he has in store for the future. As for site B3, it offers a fair amount of privacy and room. We were able to set up a tent and canopy, with plenty of room to reconfigure once we realized rain was coming. No picnic table and some spots are at an angle, so plan accordingly. Plenty of firewood to pick up in the surrounding woods. We will be reserving site B3 for our next visit!

This is an idyllic spot to camp and Cara provides everything you could need! The fairy lights were so cute and a great touch. It even poured and stormed while we were here, but we were dry and cozy all night under the roofed platform. I’ll definitely be coming back.

This tent spot was perfect. Nestled on a peaceful, eco-conscious herb farm, it felt like stepping into another world; one where time slows down, the air smells like lavender and mint, and the night sky actually glows with stars. The campsite itself was simple but perfect: flat, well-maintained ground for our tent, with plenty of shade and privacy. There were thoughtful touches everywhere — a composting toilet that was clean and easy to use, with a rain-fed sanitation station, and a super comfortable and private outdoor shower. It’s clear the hosts care deeply about the land and about creating a gentle footprint. The atmosphere was mellow and welcoming — think wildflowers, herbal gardens, and wind chimes swaying in the breeze. There is a large covered pavilion where I ate my dinner and updated my journal. If you’re looking for a spot with good energy, real connection to nature, and a little off-grid charm, this is it. I'll definitely be back.

Rays campground is great! Amazing communal areas and super friendly staff. They were more than accommodating when we had questions. The sites you can reserve are nice and private and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Only thing I would be aware of is if you’re booking campsite 10 our car (volks wagon Tiguan) could barley make it up the gravel. All the other sites are fine though! We really enjoyed our stay!

We are located less than a five minute walk to the rocks and feature unique, mountain/valley views from the eastern aspect of the iconic rock formations. There are private trails leading directly to both Roy Gap Road as well as the North Peak of Seneca Rocks. Bluestone Camp & Retreat

Bluestone Camp & Retreat is a Presbyterian Summer Camp Program with organized summer youth and family camp activities over 4 weeks in June and July, and a three-season Retreat Destination for a variety of church, non-profit, and family groups April through November. We are a ministry of the Presbytery of West Virginia (PCUSA) serving member congregations as well as many other church and non-profit organizations. Bluestone has been in operation since 1953. Our Mission is to provide experiences that are character building in nature through Summer Camping Programs and other programmatic events for children, youth, and adults; and to provide opportunities for recreation, rest, and renewal through the use of our facilities as a Center of Christian Hospitality. We have five camp sites that overlook the Bluestone Lake Reservoir. Each is a clearly defined 60' x 20' space along one side of a level grass field, and each is equipped with a 50/30/20 amp electric pedestal, water spigot, sewer drop, picnic table, and an above ground steel campfire pit. There is also a shower house available for Hipcampers to use. We have two price points: 1. Our Regular Price per night is $35 based on double occupancy. Each additional person (ages 12 and older, max = 6 people per site) is $10. 2. Our price increases to $50 per night for the months of June and July which is our high season. Possum Holler Camp- New River Gorge

Camping at Possum Holler Camp will provide you the perfect blend of solitude and recreation access. You will truly be in the heart of the New River National Park, yet still feel secluded in the beautiful woods without neighbors. You will have private access to beautiful and idyllic Mill Creek, which has many beautiful emerald pools and is even seasonally stocked with rainbow trout! Within a mile you can access the New River Gorge Bridge and the Canyon Rim Visitor Center, and you are equally close to the park's world class climbing, rafting, hiking, ziplining, and mountain biking at the New River Gorge National Park and surrounding areas. Your group will have the entire camp to yourselves, so there's no need to worry about noisy neighbors. Our driveway has recently been revamped to include more flat parking and a less steep access route! While these improvements are great, we still caution our guests to avoid bringing large trailers and to use 4WD if available in an attempt to minimize rutting in the future. Seasoned hardwood firewood is available on site for $6/bundle. You are allowed to bring your own firewood, but only if you source your firewood locally because invasive pest species can travel in firewood. Possum Holler Camp is a Leave No Trace campsite, guests are asked to pack out anything they bring in and leave the area undisturbed. This includes damaging vegetation, creating new fire rings, or altering the natural area in any way. Also, please do not camp in the meadow area and only use the cleared out areas in the woods surrounding the parking and picnic/fire area for pitching tents. If you stay below the high water line, then feel free to move as far up or downstream Mill Creek as you like. The creek is indescribably beautiful in both directions! But please keep in mind that there is private property once you are above the high water line, please do not trespass on our neighbor's property.

Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. There is a shower house with instant hot water and outside spigots for water, a porta potty, a fire-pit for cooking and camp fires at night while star gazing. The property is over 100 acres in Greenbrier county WV. There is a lot of history in this area. There are tons of wildlife on the property as well. We have awesome trails with GREAT Views for hiking or horse back riding should you decide to bring your own equine. Pets are allowed with prior notice (not to be left unattended in the cabins). We have a private dog park that you will have access to on the property. We also offer doggie daycare & boarding here at the farm (prior proof of vaccine is required) should you need our services. We also house horses/ponies/ goats/sheep/geese/ducks & chickens here on the farm. We are located 4 miles from downtown Lewisburg which has wonderful stores, antique shops and restaurants. Some of the attractions in town include Toot (taste of our town) , The Chocolate festival, WV State Fair, Carnegie Hall not to mention The Greenbrier Resort which is only 15 mins away. Also in the area is the Greenbrier River Trail 77 miles long for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Greenbrier State Forrest , Beartown State Park, Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park, Cranberry Glades Botanical Area, Scenic highway, Lost World Caverns & Pomona Salt Cave and Spa. Bound by the Appalachian Mountains and the Allegheny Mountains, West Virginia is an alpine wilderness brimming with craggy peaks, cascading waterfalls, and forested ravines.
