The river is lovely to swim in but it's down a steep bank so bring your water shoes for that extra grip. Friendly cats on the campsite and so many fireflies :D

Greg was a great host. Very attentive and informative. At the last minute he moved us to a better site that fit our needs better. This a great place to experience the potomac river and c and o canal trail. The caves were very cool also!

We loved camping at this site! Andrey was the perfect host, he had our requested items (tubes and firewood) waiting at the site and he popped over to introduce himself. Andrey was very knowledgeable of the river and the surrounding areas. The bathhouse was clean and well stocked; the private bathrooms was a nice touch! The picnic tables and fire ring were in great condition. I also recommend booking a tube float through Andrey which was well organized and the tube float ended at our campsite (Bridge) - you couldn’t plan it better! The camp ground also had a playground, ping pong table and nice common areas. Will def return and happy to recommend!

Went tent camping in spot 11 it was nice area the river was not too far away kids enjoyed themselves very much. At night when the sky is clear you can see many stars and during the day you get to see many beautiful butterflies- 2 things I don’t get to see much in my city. In all it was a great experience we all enjoyed ourselves and will be visiting again in the future.

The primitive RV site 6 was amazing! Spacious (we had a pull behind teardrop trailer as well as as a tent), clean and the river access was right across the road! The camp hosts were so attentive and accommodating. The camp office and coffee tent area were a great addition and the firewood was handy and easily accessible! We did not do any of the hikes near the campsite, but we heard great things! We drove the half hour to Blackwater Falls one day and then another day the 20 minutes to Thomas. Both were fantastic side trips!

My partner, dog, and I stayed here a couple days and absolutely loved it!! It is a beautiful, peaceful spot and Pablo and Lorena are such kind hosts. We stayed when the temps were in the mid-90s and with the fan inside and an open, screened window, it was very pleasant to sleep. It gets really hot inside during the day, but there is lots of shade outside and the river area is so nice and refreshing! The fire at night was perfect. They thought of so many details. There's even a nice shower! We will absolutely be back.

This place is really special! The creek and river access were perfect for me and my pup. Site 1 is close to the entrance so you so get some noise from the gate and the public boat ramp seems to be a Saturday night party spot for locals, so having earplugs was nice. They fireflies are so spectacular. Pick up a copy of Night Magic by Leigh Ann Henion before you go and you'll find all the magic in the darkness this campsite has to offer!

The property itself was first settled by a man named Mayford Jones, who set the first stones here around 1910. A Jenny Lynn style farmhouse was built and the property was known as one of the best developed farms in the area. Bluestone Camp & Retreat is a Presbyterian Summer Camp Program with organized summer youth and family camp activities over 4 weeks in June and July, and a three-season Retreat Destination for a variety of church, non-profit, and family groups April through November. We are a ministry of the Presbytery of West Virginia (PCUSA) serving member congregations as well as many other church and non-profit organizations. Bluestone has been in operation since 1953. Our Mission is to provide experiences that are character building in nature through Summer Camping Programs and other programmatic events for children, youth, and adults; and to provide opportunities for recreation, rest, and renewal through the use of our facilities as a Center of Christian Hospitality. We have five camp sites that overlook the Bluestone Lake Reservoir. Each is a clearly defined 60' x 20' space along one side of a level grass field, and each is equipped with a 50/30/20 amp electric pedestal, water spigot, sewer drop, picnic table, and an above ground steel campfire pit. There is also a shower house available for Hipcampers to use. We have two price points: 1. Our Regular Price per night is $35 based on double occupancy. Each additional person (ages 12 and older, max = 6 people per site) is $10. 2. Our price increases to $50 per night for the months of June and July which is our high season.
