I loved this place 100% we had an amazing time with no issues. The directions were clear on how to arrive and we brought a camaro so the path was accessible. Our neighbors were so lovely but not intrusive of personal space i loved meeting them. The spot was beautiful with a beautiful view. The lake was about 2-4 feet deep but the current was super strong so floaties and life jackets are needed for young kids. Overall, it was a beautiful experience and a spot I will definitely be returning to.

My husband and I enjoyed our time in Broadway. High Knob was as described. Apa came to visit for a while. The bathhouse was clean and accessible. We were happy to see that our host provided an assortment of amenities for the lite travelers.

We’ve stayed at a lot of campsites over the years — and this one is easily in our Top 5 🌲🔥💯
Super peaceful ✨, crazy convenient 🚗, and the pavilion is way nicer than it looks in the photos (no offense, photos 📸). We figured it’d be a basic shelter — but it’s actually an awesome hangout spot: shady in the day 🌤️, cozy fire at night 🔥, outlets to charge your stuff 🔌📱, and even a grill for cooking 🍔.
We originally booked a wooded tent site 🏕️ but after a week of nonstop rain ☔, the host gave us a heads-up and let us switch to an RV site. Super appreciated — easy setup, no issues 👍
We still walked over the little bridge 🌉 to check out the woods — it’s narrow but totally fine for walking or light vehicles. You can also park in the open field and carry gear in easily. Just enough “rustic” to feel like camping without needing survival skills.
Yeah, the road is nearby and you’ll hear a bit of traffic 🚗 — nothing major, but if you’ve got wild toddlers who like to run off 🏃♂️💨 maybe keep an eye out.
Overall? We’d totally come back. Quiet nights 🌌, deer wandering through 🦌, firelight flickering 🔥, WiFi to stream your music 🎶 — what more do you need?

Glamping at Kennedy Peak was great! Nathan was super helpful and accommodating, even though we reached out to him an hour before we needed the reservation. Nathan's land is on an uphill incline, although the Kennedy Peak plot was level. I was able to level my trailer, and the adjacent plots appeared to be level as well. The grounds were very quiet. A delightful feature was the presence of a large, frienfly family of friendly ducks.

What a perfect spot for off grid camping. Beaver dam was really private. It was a short walk to the swimming hole (pond/lake). Great time for my dog and I.

If you are looking for a secluded area, with a nice creek to listen to or have the kids to play in, but still want the luxuries of a toilet/shower, then this is it! Its absolutely beautiful! You can even hear the owls at night time "whoing" back and forth. The kids rode the "whitewater" on their butts from 9am until dinner time. Theres no service, so a great escape from reality to reset! We will definitly be back!

Great campground. I loved the easy access to water, firewood, and portapotties. The grounds were well taken care of, and seems like they are actively working to build it out with even more amenities. Vincent and the caretaker (I forget his name, sorry) were both very welcoming, kind, and helpful. Good vibes all around.

Big thanks to Amber, her kids, and especially Larry, who got us taken care of at the site. We camped for 2 nights and had the best time. Truly something special here. The water was fantastic; we loved watching fireflies and frogs. It’s so peaceful and private, but if you need a toilet, it’s a short walk away. You don’t want for anything, but also you are left to camp as you please.

I absolutely loved this campground. It was waaayyy off any main roads and so far from any big cities. The peace it offered was incredible. The stars, amazing. The River, perfect. We stayed on C5 and loved the privacy that it offered, although I wish the river front sites weren’t only for groups. But the walk to the river wasn’t far at all, even in the pitch dark. The layout of the campground was nice, easy to understand and find things. We did meet the owner and the caretaker and both were very pleasant! Maybe not a campground for kids as there isn’t a lot to do with kids and the river seemed a little fast (and deep) for little ones, but would definitely recommend for a time away from the real world.

So sad we could only stay to sleep. We drove down the dark and windy road seeing nothing but what was in front of us. Arrives and had a little bit of a difficult time figuring out where the site was, but that was our fault for coming in after dark. What a surprise we woke up to with the river right across the street. I wish we had more time to stay and explore, but it’ll give us a reason to come back.

Excellent, quiet, private camping experience with great amenities! We loved having the luxury of good WiFi connection, electric & water hookup at our site & having a toilet, sink, & shower right next to our site with hot water & great water pressure!!! Best part was the cleanliness! Nathan kept everything very clean & restocked daily. The provided wooden spool “table” & stone fire ring was a great addition to the site as well!
I had not read through the full description of High Knob site I missed that it’s made for a little Camper, not ideal for a tent. We have a large tent & it worked on the flattest part, but it’s very rocky & was not comfortable under our feet until we added more ground cloth. We luckily camped on a very hot & dry week, otherwise the tent spot would’ve likely turned into a river as it is on the downward slope of the hill. Definitely much better for a camper instead of our tent. Nathan was very generous & offered us a chance to switch campsites made for tents (if available) but we decided to stay in our spot since the weather was looking good.
We loved having visits from the gaggle of geese & guardian dog! It was fun to see them each day! We visited several of the local attractions listed on Traveller’s Meadows’ suggestion list & had a blast exploring the area! The site location is just far enough from all of the super touristy places to keep it enjoyable for us but there were plenty of local places to see. We absolutely recommend Traveller’s Meadow!!!!

Experience glamping at its finest on the grounds of Canaan Valley Resort State Park, where amenities on top of amenities make this a luxury experience even for those in tents. Laundry, showers, ice, and firewood are available near campsites, and pets can join in on the fun so long as they’re kept on a leash. Up at 3100 feet, fog rolls in across the tree lined mountains each morning in the highest valley east of the Rocky Mountains. This West Virginia gem, the second largest inland wetland in the country, offers sweeping views from the resort. Excellent skiing is available into late spring, as the slopes are in a prime spot to receive sun protection from tree coverage.
Limitless recreation opportunities will keep you busy until nightfall, with a champion-level golf course, Blackwater Falls, and sporting clay range nearby. The resort has a saltwater pool, and hosts a popular annual birding festival that’s worth planning your trip around even if you don’t love birds (you can avoid the crowds by choosing the next weekend). Pack a bottle of Prosecco and some gourmet snacks, because you’ll be camping in style at Canaan!
