The hosts of this Hipcamp are always so kind and considerate. This was our second time staying here, and we booked to take our engagement photos. They let us set up some vintage furniture on the property and everything. We love this site!

Moon rise view!!!

We enjoyed Site #4. On end, no one drove by us. On bank of rive.r. little path through over growth to the river. Campsites side by side. Luckily only one quiet person next door to us for one of the two nights. Def offf main road, 3 miles. About 15 minutes to town of Phillippi, WV. Owner came first night with wood. Get what ya need then...like 4 big bundles for two nights. We ran out with just two. Enjoyed the moonrise and stars!!!!

Our site was just beautiful!! Surrounded by the river with its rocky banks, native flowers, and a huge chestnut tree that made a natural canopy for our picnic table. It was so peaceful, yet so alive! I would recommend Earth Sky Campground to everyone!

Perfect location for relaxing.

A buddy and I were both a little wound up with the daily grind. (Work, Kids, sports). We were looking for a quiet place to disconnect and enjoy being away from it. Earthsky worked out great, riverside, flat sites, and limited sites. We were there for 3 nights and had the whole place to ourselves. Dusty came down and introduced himself and gave us the run down. Will definitely come back.

I had such a wonderful experience at Earth Sky’s River Front Camping Spot. The camping area itself was absolutely beautiful — peaceful, scenic, and the perfect place to relax on the river. Emily and her husband were incredibly kind and welcoming, going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. They even had an extra amenity available and provided me with firewood, which made my evening by the river even more enjoyable. Their recommendations for Arden Falls and other sightseeing spots were spot on — each one was tranquil and worth the visit. I couldn’t have asked for a better camping getaway!

Hosts were beyond fantastic. Super flexible and helpful. Will answer any questions and even give advice. We wanted a place to fish and maybe kids get in the water. They led us right to the perfect spot. Highly recommend and we will be back. Side note - small gravel roads in the area, but our minivan did just fine. 🤣

We absolutely loved our stay at Emily’s camp. This was our first time camping, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but we wanted to see the stars and still have ancc to swimming and it did not disappoint. Emily and her husband were great hosts, very friendly, and told us about a bunch of great places to visit. Highly recommend and hope to come back next summer!!

I loved camping at EarthSky, the site was directly on the river and I was serenaded by the geese flying over my little camper. The morning mist rising from the water with herons flying was earily other worldly. The words "a beautiful place" do not do it justice. Emily and Dustin were there to greet me and show me to the camp site. The drive down the well maintained gravel road was easy for me and my pop up camper. The site was level, grass was cut, fire pit cleaned and ready for my fire. A picnic table at the site was an added helpful bonus.

This was our 3rd time camping at EarthSky and can’t say enough great things about it. Everyone we met were so kind and helpful. It’s beautiful, clean, and right on the river. Very little light pollution made for a beautiful starry night sky. Plus, the Arden falls are a quick drive away. We even brought new friends with us this year and they can’t wait to come back. See you next year.

It was a great locations, Dusty and Emily were extremely welcoming, warm people who made the stay that much better, — an overall wonderful experience. Will be back again 1000% for sure! Two improvements I saw, a handle on the inside of the outhouse to help pull the door closed easier, and multiple outhouse buckets we could switch out as they get full.

We had a great time tent camping on Emily’s land! Waking up right next to the river and seeing the fog over everything in the morning was beautiful. We chose tent campsite #1 which had a nice little loft of trees that were perfect for having shade throughout the whole weekend. The “bathroom” was kept clean and emptied regularly. Emily and her husband were responsive and super nice! We absolutely loved the firewood too — very dry and nice quality. I would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend it!

Peaceful Camp Getaway in WV!

My fiancé and I loved tent camping at Emily and Dusty’s private camp; Earth Sky. It was our first time booking through Hipcamp and being in WV. We had such a wonderful experience from the moment we booked our trip to the end of our vacation. Earth Sky private campground was the perfect getaway for us. We camped at site #1 and in our opinion was the best spot. It had a big tree for shade, lamp pole, close to toilet. The area was so peaceful and waking up to the Tygart River right outside our tent was dreamy. We saw deer, monarchs, swam in the clear river every day and even caught a small bass. The campground has 4 camp sites total and while they are relatively close to each other like other reviews had mentioned, you still feel some privacy. There was one group with us during our time there but they only stayed for one night, allowing us to get the whole campground to ourselves for the remainder of our time at Earth Sky. Definitely take advantage of exploring Audra State Park that is a short drive away and purchasing firewood from Emily and Dusty. They were extremely generous with the amount of wood for the price. Highly recommend to future Hipcampers!

Insanely underrated site. Amazing hosts, amazing land, amazing atmosphere. High chance you lose cell service but quite honestly could be considered a blessing these days. Service 10 minutes up the road. Great place to have a true time in solitude!

Second time at Earth Sky. Loved it even more this time. This spot has super easy access to the river for swimming and tubing and a very quick trip into town will get you to Sheetz and Tractor Supply. Needed a little help from Emily and her and Dusty were super quick to respond and help us resolve the issue. We will definitely be back. 🩷✌️

Summer solstice weekend.

I loved camping on earthsky’s land. Emily and her husband were cool, kind and accommodating. Best thing about this place was being able to kayak right to our tent site after a day on the river. Well maintained and felt like you were off the beaten path but only 10 or so minutes to town!

Unable to find the spot

In fairness, I never saw the property but we had little directions to find this spot other than an address. Pretty rough terrain getting there, if we were in the right spot. It looked absolutely beautiful in the pictures but unfortunately we couldn’t find it. The owners were great and refunded us immediately. She also had excellent response time but we arrived too late at night to get assistance in finding the spot.

Riverfront and Animal friendly

Hidden gem deep in WV. Great spot right on the river and would be ideal for anyone who wants to kayak or tube down the river. I loved the river front spot and I do mean right on the river, the sites are very spacious and separated by split rails on both sides of the sites which gives you a great feel for your spot. The hosts were great when it came to communications of needs and concerns of the sites. If I had any complaints it would only be that the toilet is very much primitive which I don’t mind but could be something that some might find unappealing, but the hosts were very on top of making sure it stayed in good condition during our stay. Definitely will be going back again

We had a great stay at this campsite. The host was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed for a smooth stay. The spot was quiet and perfect for boondocking in our van. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay off the grid.

Overall the campsite was great. If you are looking for something more private than this wouldn't be for you. It's very close to other campers and there campsites all around you. Access to the river is fantastic and the hosts are were great.
